Daft thing is it'd cost you a small fortune to buy them direct from 'W'!

Very hard decision Matt (VERY) but as I am no longer in a band that requires a backline (an acoustic bass into the small vocal PA is all I will nee for the foreseeable). 'IF' I go back to full on electric band gigging, I know I will kick myself for selling the amp and cab but no point in it sitting in the house unused.

re. splitting the amp and cab - I have had interest in both, so this is a distinct possibility. I'll ensure that interested parties on amp/cab can complete and go from there. There appears to be 3 people interested in the cab so I'll deal with this in the order that they either contacted me or posted on this thread; Richard and Sharkfinger I'll get back to you asap because I need to look at shipping for the person who showed interest first. Obviously Richard collecting would be a massive help but I'll deal in the order folks contacted me. It will still leave the Gator case, rack tuner and Gramma Pad available.

I have the original manual and side-handle... everything except the box it was shipped in basically. 550w @ 4 ohms http://www.thunderfunk.com/index.html Bergantino AE212 (with Berg padded cover) Excellent condition with only the lightest of scuffs and marks (mainly on the bottom corner protectors from where it has been stood down). No issues with the drivers or horn etc. http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Bergantino,_Passive_AE_bass_speakers.html Gator Rack Case Bought new to rack the TF and again... no issues. KORG DTR 1 Strobe Tuner Fully functional, connected into amp and ready to tune. Auralax Gramma Pad (not the one pictured but a newer, smaller one that is the same size as the cab footprint) Due to work and personal commitments, I find myself with less and less time to gig with bands, as such I've resigned from my regular band and I'm just spending time playing with an acoustic 4 piece (no amp/cab req'd just direct into PA). I can't see myself getting back into 'full' band situations in the foreseeable future so I may as well sell up. I look after my gear fastidiously and there are no issues with the equipment, other than the fact that the TF has a small LED to show when the amp is going into clipping, this doesn't work (didn't when I bought it but not worth the cost of shipping back to Dave Funk) but I have never ever req'd it and simply set the input to approx 12.00 and the amp has never sounded as though it is overdriving. Amp and cab have always travelled from my house to the gig in my car and then back again into a centrally heated house (no garages/sheds/rehearsal room storage). The tuner and amp are already connected together but I will also include a heavy-duty speaker cable and the foam pads that I sit between cab and amp (sonic isolation and to stop the amp casing scratching the top of the cab). **SOLD**FS Warwick Streamer 4LX Jazzman **Reduced £650**
warwickhunt replied to Dogz73's topic in Basses For Sale
A 'normal' LX model has PJ pups and a BO neck, Jazzman refers to the pup config (hence the query re. was it an FNA Jazzman which has your pup config on an FNA/Corvette body). Warwick have obviously also added the LX designation because that refers to the fact it is a BO neck Streamer as opposed to a NT... seems unnecessary as you can't buy a NT Streamer in the Jazzman config. Confused? So you should be. -
According to the truss rod cover it's a Streamer LX Jazzman
Good spot and the worst bit is that I actually own one of these basses and I've never taken any notice of the TR cover ...the odd thing is that the cover appears to be off a left handed bass as it is upside down!
I'm sure the same discussion has been held every decade. Things are never 'what they used to be' and it really all depends on how well you are able to ride those changes should you decide to try to.
I'm in my 4th decade of being a paid gigging musician (part-time) and I can't ever recall the gig scene to be as disheartening as it is at present; pubs have taken a nose-dive in punter attendances and I have to agree that by and large there are more instances of idiots around at gigs (generally not there for the music).

So sorry to hear of your health problems Col and I think you are right to focus on staying as fit/healthy as you can. After 34 years of playing live/in bands I am taking a sabbatical from gigging and in a way your sale has humbled me because I am doing it through free choice. All the best and I'm sure these instruments will find good homes soon.

Wise words from all but I'll keep a little acoustic band going to keep my hand in (1 gig every other month but only those we WANT to do), it does raise the dilemma of equipment as it has taken me a long time to settle on the gear that I have (amp/cab) but I reached the decision today that I'll move the hardware on but keep most of my basses... IF I decide to get back into it I can always look back on BC for used quality gear! I do think that the music scene has changed and unless you have a very strong USP or a long established fan base then even a good covers band doesn't get the recognition and support that it used to get some years ago.
-
I've never picked up an EB/MM bass that didn't feel well put together. I've known various manufacturers where the tolerances or general fit and finish was just far too inconsistent from bass to bass... and that is taking into account that if you produce a 1000 basses as opposed to 100,000 basses you will have a higher ratio of 'potential' for a bass not to be perfect.
-
I reached the decision a month or so back that I didn't have time to play live with my various bands/deps and took the decision to resign/stand down from my band; it has taken about that length of time to completely untangle my reasons. The main one was always that work (day job) commitments had increased such that I didn't have the time/energy/effort/emotion to put my all into the band. However, I also now realise that the local/pub music scene, which I have been part of for close on 35 years has changed in the last 5-10 years and there just isn't the desire for folks to get out and support local music scenes; this has probably had as much of a 'subliminal' impact on me and my taking the decision... or is it just that I have (dare I say it), 'grown up'? Any other seasoned players (or possibly new players) finding the same?
-
Yes it's the cheaper one in the Hamer range. Not sure I can help you price that one as I've tended to look at the top end ones, though there are a couple of 12 string players/owners on here who can likely help.

I'm assuming it is this model... http://www.12stringbass.net/master.htm?http://www.12stringbass.net/b12l.htm

Thoughts for a "different" pickup to pair with a P

Another 'P' -
from business sellers it will be once the new EU distance selling legislation kicks in...
As and when/if... but I bet if it doesn't sit well with their needs, there'll be loop holes!
-
...they should pay return postage.
Not the way that ebay works unfortunately!
-
I think EU voltage is the same all across.
It is, I played in Holland and Germany with my UK rated amp and no problems at all. There is a slight variation between countries but amps have a built in tolerance for what we call 240v... obviously that doesn't extent to USA 110v.
