1. Lots LOTS of ifs/buts to this and every individual will be... individual. Some years back I was in a band (weekend covers band £200-£250 shared 4 ways, playing once a week most weeks) where the guitarist was a solicitor and he had to declare earnings etc. After he/we ran the 2nd year at a loss (fuel/accountant/equipment inc strings etc.), the tax man basically said that we were hobbyists and we couldn't go claiming more back from the tax man than we were actually meant to pay! It pays to look into it, you may be pleasantly surprised but at least you'll have done the right thing.
2. You learn something new... I didn't realise these were 'Custom Shop'!
3.
Less than £140?
I sold a mint one 4 mths ago (still had plastic protective on) for £120... and it had a T'Bird shape gigbag.
4. Where has the pic gone?
5.
Original good condition,,.I bought this from ebay about a year ago, after a long search for an original jv.The previous owner had it for over 20 yrs and had a fret dress and setup from jimmy moons in glasgow, Comes with tatty vintage case and has a brand new set of rotosounds strings,,,All dings shown in pics,,,,,scratchplate is slightly warped,,, £600,,,,sorry no trades,, I am selling this to order a bravewood precision of the same spec,,,,.I would prefer local pickup,,,come try it out,,,,,i am willing to post but only if its insured,,ive had a quote of £35,,or you can setup your own courier.
Pics... what pics?
6.
Amazed this hasn't sold yet, I already have one of these as my main gigging bass but its temptin to get a second at this price
It might be the 'newbie' / Croatia thing! ...just saying.
7. It is listed as a 'Stage I' which is a thru-neck bass... this is a 'Streamer Bolt-On'... different basses in different price brackets BUT £650 is a good price for a BO but would be a stupid low price for the proper Stage I.
8. £650 or offers is a decent price for a pukka German manufactured BO bass but I hope nobody buys it without looking at all of the pics and realises it isn't a Stage I. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Warwick-Streamer-Stage-1-5-String-96-Model-/231553950069?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item35e9b0e175
9. Jack can I make a genuine observation/suggestion? Could you possibly go through and delete all of the outdated 'bump' posts (using the delete function in the bottom right of each post) in your thread! ...and have a free bump.
10.
I think work by Squires, Glover and Hughes using both basses are well documented..
...and Lee, Foxton!
11. My last band had PLI but they were the only one in 35 years of playing live music.
12. Do you have an accurate weight?
13. Side marker positions inserted (professionally) and one last push to sell as I have a fretted Sterling incoming.
14. I've owned/used a few Behringer (PA) products and my only gripe was the Signal to Noise Ratio, which was just too much noise for my liking!
15. Have I missed something? The Fender MH basses are less than £700 brand new, so why would you bid £720 (+£40 postage... P&P free from most internet shops) for a used one? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/fender-bass-Mark-Hoppus-/121629436983?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1c51adec37
16. Lakland basses have designations such as 44-60 44-01 55-01 44-94 44-64 etc. but is there a reason behind the number designation? I assume the start digits are 4 or 5 string (why 44 55?), is the 60/64/01/94 a particular model/year that the bass is based upon? How does one easily identify the different models based upon the model numbers?
17. Is it possible to see the underside of the neck where the LEDs were installed?
18.
Be VERY careful defretting it, it will chip! If you haven't done it before it may be best to either do a practice one on rosewood or Maple or pay a luthier to do it for you.
Agreed! TBH even if you practice on other basses, you'd still likely as not have chips/slivers out of the fingerboard when you defret.
19.
Price Bump - £1050
A decent price for a proper vintage bass.
20.
Love the colour, never knew they did solid colours back then! Let me know if you move it on?
I've agreed that 'if' I were to sell it I need to offer it back to Zomnius first.
21. She'll be mine now then!
22. Didn't even look at the body of the ads but yes, they have different serial numbers.
23. He can end either auction early. It's a bit naughty and tbh he may be hoping the £999 BIN listing will make folks think they are getting a bargain if they pay any less than that... though they'd be numpties to pay that!
24.
Could you ask your father-in-law in Wisbech to call Manchester Police? Maybe that would get them to look at it.
That would make sense as the funds/money have effectively been stolen from his F-I-L!
