1.
Nope, not that one. Its a 97 ss2 (3band eq, still has the old style neck though)........ Lovely piece of kit it is
2.
My band have talked about doing a couple of "unplugged" or acoustic gigs. The guitarists have acoustics and obvioulsy the drums are acoustic. I though it would be cool if I was acoustic too...
You could be 'electro' acoustic but don't ever imagine that you would be loud enough to keep up with a pair of unamplified acoustics... never mind a drummer (even using brushes/hot-rods)! I play in a 4 piece acoustic group (no drums) using a Washburn AB20 and it has a nice acoustic tone that sits in with the acoustic guitars (we all plug into a very small PA) but there'd not be a cat's chance in Hell of competing if I wasn't amplified; even house rehearsals I need to plug into a practice combo when they are purely acoustic!
3.
Think you should trade this for my ss2 4 string...
It's a LONG shot but if this were my old 80's SSII (which was light for a SSII) I'd have gotten involved in a trade with Kev!
4. Tried photographing the side but the camera is useless in the present light but I can confirm the dots are where the frets 'should' be NOT between the frets as they would be on a fretted bass. They are white dots on the edge of the ebony board. If you still want pics, send me a PM and I'll see if I can get it sorted.

6. Sorry, literally just sold.
7. I'm going to say Aggie DB112s all day long!
8.
How much do warwick's make at the moment? This came up on my normal ebay browsing Odd one this... one photo, local pickup only, pretty crappy advert really - might be a good deal there for someone, my wife would kill me if I accidentally won another auction for local pickup! http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3cdb3acc2a
It may have been cheap but not cheap enough to get a single bid!
9. I've info on my old hard drive re. the EQ switches on those SD pups but it isn't connected up. A trawl of t'interweb should get you the info but essentially (IIRC) all 3 alter the EQ frequency response of the pups in various ways.
10. Brian's a top bloke. Nice easy easy deal with Brian doing a bank transfer as soon as the deal was finalised.
11. I owned a Super Jazz and I adapted to the fanned frets in minutes (35 years playing 'normal' 4's)... though I never used the dusty end! Oddly enough I can't say that I noticed a night/day difference in playability, string tension or tone but it was a superb instrument in its own right regardless.
12. Did you get my PM re. Dolphin fretless 4?
13.
The one in my avatar is a 2005 SS1. According to Warwick it's swamp ash.
Another classic Warwick customer response! Your bass is without a shadow of doubt a Maple bass it is NOT Ash of any form.
14.
If you have back problems then in my opinion you are looking at the wrong gear; very good and great sounding gear, but wrong because it is very heavy gear. But I guess if you think that the weight of that amp is doable then the cabs will be OK. Get a good trolley.
+1 If you can hump the DB750 about, carrying a DB112 is about the same. I owned a pair of DB112's (one with tweeter, one sans) and I'd carry them short distances one in each hand BUT not too far as they are weighty as a pair. I always took two everywhere (gig and rehearsal), hence elected to buy a Berg AE212 which isn't much heavier than a single DB112 but narrower with a pair of handles... result. As a general rule, if it was mare than a few yards, I'd pick the DB112 up with the handle and then cradled it with both arms to carry, it's also not easiest to carry by the handle when going through doorways. Still miss the tone of the Aggies though and would have a pair back tomorrow. No fear with the handle strength though, they are well constructed/fitted and shouldn't cause any concerns.
15. Yes the angled wedge is (an extreme) version of the tilt that I would find beneficial but the angled baffle means I still have a horizontal surface to sit my amp.
16.
I was sure if the bass was in a hard case then its covered by PF but they don't usually take it if its not in a case. I once has a musician bass delivered to me in a padded guitar bag with no tape or nothing just a postal sticker on it and it arrived in good nick but he was lucky LOL
Nope, PF don't insure musical instruments... well documented on Basschat and in the small print of their T&C.
17.
I live in N.Ireland and have posted and received quite a few basses from England and its typically about a fiver or so more via parcel force so not too bad. ...
ParcelForce will save me money, so I'd knock a tenner off... but be aware the bass wouldn't be insured! PF don't insure musical instruments hence I'd not use them, unless you wanted to save that tenner and take the chance!
18. I'd have thought that shipping to Ireland would be higher than mainland UK but for my price of £550 I'll include shipping to you. I'm not going to lower the price significantly so 'best price' is about where it is at to be honest.
19. I think the only problem with this talk of insurance is that you'd never truly be able to 'test' the T&C until you have an issue! I am aware from first hand experience that guitars/basses shipped via PF in the UK are not covered by insurance EVEN when you specifically pay an extra premium to cover the value AND you tell them it is a guitar.
20.
Something like that you mean - http://www.mediafire...47i1q1ejv21bd3t
Possibly but I was thinking more along the lines of the whole baffle from top to bottom being angled back. If you had a cab with a pair of twelves vertically stacked (NOT off-set please), the cab might be about 30" and the top of the baffle could be set back 6". I say not off-set as that means you have the top driver closer to ear level, more importantly the cab width would be easy to manoeuvre through doorways. The volume could be gained by making the cab a smidgen deeper. I presently use a Berg AE212 and I think the aforementioned design changes would improve an already good cab.
21. Love the idea of a 2x12 with vintage/coloured voicing but I'd want it to have an angled baffle; can't this be done but maintaining the 'external' casing as a rectangular prism? A cutaway in the top edge could be applied if the baffle angled back to the point where it might impede sound dispersion to the players ears but not so deep as to mean a standard flightcase wouldn't sit. .
22. I thought USPS had a maximum length restriction? I'm sure I've looked into it in the past and with neck on, in a case, with box, it exceeded their max dimensions... they could have amended it of late mind.
23. Your worst fears are correct Col, you will be liable for taxes (as will the recipient of your bass)! I've read (but have no proof) of folks that have allegedly sent items with returns coming back BUT the onus would be on you to get this sorted in advance and you'd need to 'prove' that it wasn't a trade or purchase. I was involved in a Warwick promotion and sending a preamp to the States (and back) had me paying taxes even though it went from me and back to me!
