    I'll try but I can tell you it is 'low'! I'm pretty good at setting up my own basses and this would be considered a low action by just about anyone.

    Cheers for the input folks. I've bought and sold *cough* a 'few' times and I've almost always done it through a direct bank transfer BUT it has always been with folk who are either well established or at least in this country and with some form of feedback. This one is a little different as it is a complete newbie who lives in the States and I'm always wary of anything 'International'.

    Not sure if this is 'off-topic' material but seems best place! I have a guy interested in buying a bass from me; he has registered on BC in order to contact me re. the purchase. However... how do I accept payment from him in the 'safest' manner, for me. I say 'for me' because I am talking about my specific circumstances and I know that I will send the bass as and when it is successfully paid for, so I don't need to consider different scenarios i.e. whether it is best for the buyer. There is paypal but I've had experiences with them that have soured my view of them and their practices; added to which there are fees and the money could potentially be claimed back (IIRC). He has offered to do an International wire transfer but I have no idea who he is and could sending someone my bank details jeopardise my account security? I'd appreciate any constructive views re. how to do this in the safest manner possible. Cheers.

You can turn the snares on and off for a bit of variety. Plenty of youtube tutorials so I'm in at the deep end at a gig in a couple of weeks so we'll see how it fairs.

    I've always fancied playing a bit of drums/percussion and with me now playing in a little acoustic set-up ('lightly' amplified acoustic bass/guitars), this seemed the ideal first step; slip between bass and cajon... anyone else dabbled with a bit of cajon playing?

    The serial number is 39512 and IIRC I was informed that it was a 93 bass.

    This is a 'really' nice example of the early Sterling. The bass was originally fretted then the fingerboard was planed off and replaced with an ebony fretless (you can still see a very thin veneer of the original board between the maple neck and the ebony) by Martin @ The Bass Gallery... then it was fretted again... then finally defretted again! Considering it's age there are really no dings or dinks to mention, when photographing it with flash I did catch sight of one or two tiny indentations on the back of the body but these can barely be felt never mind seen. A few scratches on the neck plate (see the pics) but nothing to lose sleep over. The neck is absolutely lush and if my Roadworn Jazz sells before this bass I'll be keeping it and getting it fretted up again... purely for how good the neck feels and plays. The bridge is the early larger unit (serial number stamped into the base) mute screws are in place but the (replaceable) bent bits of tin with the foam on are not here, however they can be found on ebay easy and cheap enough. No problems with the electrics or pup etc and no scratchy pots or dicky sockets.     I think the cost of a 'new' German made Warwick will probably mean that the list of respondents is quite short.

    On ebay you have to pay back full amount that they paid you (inc postage) but the buyer will need to pay to send the item back to you.

    Is this an ebay or BC sale? If it is ebay, they'll need to send you the pedal first (check it is the same one you posted out) after which you need to refund but be sure to communicate 'via ebay' promptly and with clarity. If it is on here then 'personally' I'd ask for the pedal back and refund, whilst attempting a claim for damage via PF... BUT if the pedal worked on arrival PF may well wash hands of it.

    Not sure if it helps but I used to get small packages from the States on a regular basis (not 'those' kinds of packages [size=4] [/size][size=4] ) and sometimes they'd arrive literally days after purchase yet I've known others take almost a month and I was in receipt of the same type of tracking info as you; in fact some showed as you have described even AFTER I had received them. [/size]

    Looking at the specs of the two cabs in question (build materials as well) I'd still go for the RCFs and I owned an RCF rig (tops were the bigger 750w 15's) and I was always impressed with the sound and they were so easy to carry... well, other than the bass bin! I realise your cab choice is smaller then mine but I've heard plenty of local bands with your RCF cab choice and they sound good. Those Proels are 'designed' as wedge monitors, so you have to be compromising using them FOH. I agree with the comment re. is your 'friend' making a deal out of it himself (or greasing wheels somewhere).
