I'll just be venting my spleen as I go... 'Tonex not responding' is my present vexation!

I'm going to be putting this through the window in a minute! Registered, downloaded, pedal plugged into laptop, open Amplitude 5... instant and continuous feedback loop, which I have to shut down straight away! Totally frustrated with this croc of shyte; it shouldn't be this hard to navigate into a programme and put sounds onto a pedal.

I'm having exactly the same issues right now! Registered the product and then going in circles trying to access/download stuff! I haven't even begun to suss how to open the UI to start loading stuff on the pedal!

When I get the pedal I'll get my head around that! LOL Can you just put 3 presets into the pedal? I know it holds 20 per slot but can I just put 3 in? I can load a different three as and when.

I'd always have 3 presets (max) for either of the bands I am in, so I'd preprog/set them for whichever band I was with.

I've taken the plunge! It transpires that operating the pedal in edit mode you can toggle through 3 'settings'. Hopefully I'll be able to use the 3 main tones that I need, otherwise this will go in front of a Zoom MS60 and I'll do everything from the 2 pedals.

I've been super impressed with the MI-Pro58.

It would be this all day long for me. Easy to replicate without costing a fortune... and looks cool (IMHO).

I did a 'blind' test re 10" 12" 15" speaker cabs(and multiples of) and posted my recordings on BC asking for educated guesses on which was which and nobody was able to correctly identify which was which. Not a criticism at all but a lot of folk will make sweeping statements about speaker dimensions and tone!

You mean like play an active bass and turn the treble down a smidgen? 🤣

Not all rechargeables are created equal! Get a very good brand and they will match the best + you don't have to last as long if you have 2 sets and swap them out.

Actually the original Tonex Pedal can be had for £250 which is a canny drop on what I recall the cost being on release! Looking at it though, I'd still need to run other pedals for phaser (+ my other part time band needs me to use an Octave & Chorus)... back to the drawing board! LOL

Yeah it was the £118/£128 that was appealing to me initially. If I start looking at £300 I could buy a pair of Tonex ONE pedals... but my budget isn't stretching past £150.

That makes sense. Sadly it won't allow a 'clean' amp setting and then a dirty (crunch) setting and then a phaser/flanger setting for use in a set 'on the fly'. I can have 2 out of the 3 but not all 3.

To clarify @bnt - you can set up slot/preset A to have an amp sim and a couple of effects and have slot/preset B to have an amp sim and different effect(s)? I essentially require 1 global amp tone/EQ and then I add either a bit of drive (for 3 songs) or a flanger (2 song). I don't think the Tonex will work for me as that is effectively 3 settings; clean / dirty / flanger. I'll end up having a preamp pedal (which I have a few of) before the Tonex and the Tonex would be set up with A = dirt / B = flanger. Not a one pedal solution. I've just bought a 2nd hand Zoom MS 60B (not the +) which 'probably' gives me what I need but it is not intuitive (at the moment) to set up, to fit my one pedal solution.

Tonex experts... Can you answer please? Tonex ONE in stomp mode, is it running one of the amp modes in the background or is it purely acting as a single use pedal (when off it is bypassed)? Can't find the answer online.

We use a 15" FBT sub (small and one person carry if need be) and it does great with a pair of QSC K10 tops. However... small to small/medium is about its max; medium bordering on medium/large would be too much.

Yes I'm aware of the general over exaggeration of some of the new amps but I seem to recall the old RB400 (200w) being very loud (for solid state), the 800RB seemed way louder than the 300+100w.

That inherent 'compression' which can be replicated; is that why (old) GK RB amps sounded louder than the rated (solid state) watts @Bill Fitzmaurice? Did they use compression? I seem to recall harmonics/boost etc being bandied about.

It will work if you add a router but not something I thought we needed but could be added later.

I've joined a new band so rehearsing to get up to speed (sax player has just been added to). The CQ12 doesn't allow for individuals to set own mixes so I just set an 'average' mix for everyone with each of the 6 individual aux outs that are assigned to members having a bit more of that person in the mix.
