1. Thanks for the bump people. I would be interested in trades (even non-Warwick) but it needs to be fretted, 4 string and ideally something where (ideally but not compulsory) I get a wedge of cash... oh and your trade would need to be light-weight!
 2. Despite loving the neck/frets/tone/playability of my Super Jazz, I decided to put it up for sale as I just don't get on with any bass that isn't the ergonomic shape and style of the Streamer/NS bass (the exception being one or two other concave/convex Warwick shapes... but not the Thumb). Now if Dingwall could do me a NT Streamer shaped bass with a neck like their Super Jazz or if Warwick could reprofile their necks and fit wonky frets, I'd be all over it.
 3. My Warwick offering. TBH the rear pup on this isn't quite as good as the trad Jazz pup on a standard SSI but I'm going to replace the pair of pups for MECs to establish if it is the pup brand or positioning/orientation that is to blame.
 4.
You're all a bunch of effing amateurs and dilettants, especially this Warwickhunt bloke. At this very moment, I'm construing a tunable speaker cone and tunable baffles. They'll be mounted in a lightweight case with tunable harmonica sides - flexible but ultra stiff. When you carry it, it's a lightweight 112. On stage, it'll turn into a stable 810 within seconds. The built in Brüel & Kjaer mic automatically folds out, measures the room and tunes the case and everything else within seconds. From that point on, your BassTractor iPad app takes over, and allows you full programmed and live control over your cab - even within the frame of a song. BassTractor - - Total Commitment For Your Total Awesomeness.
Bastid! Wish I'd thought of those minor tweaks to my design.
 5.
But will you get Warwick to build you something even more hideous and impractical than the Reverso? Or will you wimp out like Jack Bruce?
Oh I have ideas... and none of them would feature on your previous list. I may buck the big 'W' trend because it'd look good, sound good and 'feel' good to have hung on your shoulder. However, I'm giving nothing more away until I get that call.
 6.
I wonder who will take up the challenge next?
...I'm waiting for the call.
 7.
And how many "unofficial" deals are made by PM when someone posts on non-Marketplace forums about "just wondering how much this bass/cab/amp/effect might sell for"?
I'd have thought that was a 'no no' but I suppose if someone came on looking for a one off deal they could easily do that and get away without paying the £7-£20 fee. I'd have thought it'd be at the Mods discretion to act promptly/effectively to discourage that sort of thing. I'd have also thought that it'd be bad form on the BC buyers part to actively chase deals like that and Mods should be able to identify if folks were sending PMs to actively initiate deals like that... yes/no?
 8.
...how his cabs with the passive speakers are individually tuneable - in simple terms you tighten them for a cleaner crisper response and slacken them for a softer rounder low end. Very clever stuff. ...for an upgrade to a circuit improvement which helped increase the power handling capacity
Now you see this is the reason why I am going to give up on reading anything further re. the merits of certain cabs and drivers and why things can't and won't work or who designs/makes the best and the inherent back-stabbing of the merits of each cab! So you can slacken off a speaker to change/alter the tone/response... well can't you do that with any speaker and does that not totally nullify any 'tuning' of the driver to cab; you may as well chuck any random driver in. A component can alter the power handling capacity of the cab - I assume that is some form of filter because surely the spec of the driver itself is the limiting factor in power handling? I've decided to design and build my own cabs! You thought that Guy Pratt's 'sliding pup' Warwick bass was worthy of conversation; wait till you see my 'sliding wall' bass cab, my slogan will be something catchy like, "Tuneable to anything you chuffin want, just slide the top in and out... the sound in your head is the sound in your hands!" ...do you think it might catch on?
 9. Why would I not be surprised to hear that I may have owned it previously! If you could zap me a few pics that'd be good and I'll give some thought to a balance figure.
 10.
Bump for a beautiful and interesting bass. I've been thinking about super jazzes for a while. If I had the cash to balance, I'd maybe be inclined to offer a trade on my '87 SS1
I'm wanting to sell but don't mind waiting for a genuine buyer/trade. I could take the Streamer (condition not withstanding) and wait for the cash.
 11.
...a slight crack in the side of the body and some markings on the inside of the neck.
Any chance of a pic of the slight crack... 'crack' (slight or otherwise) conjures up all sorts of images and seeing it really helps.
 12. Phew what's the chances of two being for sale! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ritter-Jupiter-Eye-Of-Horus-Jupiter-Bass-Phil-Lesh-/190855163985?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item2c6fdab051
 13.
This. Why you'd take a lovely streamer and cover it green paint is beyond me.
... because it was scratched to hell and had a cracked headstock/neck. The neck issue was repaired so that doesn't account for the shipping option!
 14.
Logistically it was excellent. It was as easy to lift straight in and out of the car and a lot easier than the AE212 I once owned.
Is there a lot of difference between the CN and AE then?
 15. Looked at that earlier and it is a plain oddity. The earliest Thumbs actually had a shorter horn than present but JD era Thumb basses like this should NOT have a top horn that is the shape of a Streamer! I actually assumed that it must be the camera angle but it looks wrong on several of the pics. I can't imagine that it is a faker (too many things right with the rest of the bass) but nor have I ever heard of Warwick modifying the top horn of a Thumb to the shape of a Streamer... a conundrum, wrapped in an enigma and topped with a puzzle!
 16.
well i did wonder with the 2x10 if id need a 15" later down the road for depth ;-) lol many thanks for every bodies input thank you
If you get a 2x10 why not get another 2x10 in the future!
 17. If you get a 4 ohm cab you can't use a second cab with either amp. A pair of 8 ohm cabs would suit most people far better; you could still use a single 8 ohm cab with either head and get a respectable output from the amp(s). Do not worry about your single 8 ohm cab being rated @ 300w and the amp 500w... it won't make a heap of beans difference (just use common sense and your ears).
 18. Cheers Dougal, there has been talks over this but nothing concrete. However, I am selling my house and moving into rented for a short time so I'm going to push to sell this sooner rather than later.
 19. 10% + listing fee (variable depending on start price/reserve/etc.) + paypal fees... I'd certainly budget for losing 20% of what you sell it for and then you won'r be disappointed.
 20.
...and very good price
Which price?
 21.
Nope. To my ears, 1 AE112 sounds great but 2 AE112 cabs sound 5 times better.
Ditto the Aguilar DB112. One cab is OK but two is greater than the sum of the pair!
 22. How much was it?
 23. Loved my pair of Aguilar DB112 cabs and still rate the sound (to my ears) slightly more than the Berg AE212 cab which replaced them (the AE212 is the weight of one of the Aggies and a great one cab fix).
 24. Is this the model with the mag and piezo pups?
 25. Aside from the 'is it' question, why a bargain? It has a starting price of £80, the finish price could be anywhere you'd care to name; there are thousands of instruments listed on ebay with low starting bids but they only remain bargains if nobody bids on them!
