warwickhunt replied to warwickhunt's topic in Basses For Sale
The 'Metro' line are Sadowsky's made in Japan brand. I think WH just let a typo slip, its an MV4-HPJ like on the Sadowsky page here http://www.sadowsky....ents/metro.html A real looker, to be sure Edit: beat to it by Rhys!
Cheers folks. Yes as Clarky says it is a MV4 HPJ Precision/Jazz Hybrid -
Washburn Acoustic just received from John in nuclear bunker type packing - great fast transaction - thanks mate!
Cheers mate... I've had a bit of practice at that packing lark! Enjoy.

That looks more like a PA amp than a bass amp and would you have to have a split signal to go into each input or will it be OK from a mono input and then split internally to drive the two channels... worth checking.

Can anyone help me ID this Warwick Bass guitar
warwickhunt replied to sheldon's topic in Bass Guitars
If we talk about price . I would say that A thumb bolt active on from that area can sell from 900 to 1200€ , a corvette , I would say from 600€ to 800€ ...
It may be in Belgium but your pricing is a bit optimistic for the UK, especially the Corvette. -
Does anybody know a Paul Lusby from Sunderland ?
warwickhunt replied to mikegatward's topic in General Discussion
Don't know him but I've heard of the MHB and I'm 99% certain that he is registered on local music forum 'big ginger gits gig pit'. Try registering on there or if you like I can see if I can PM him for you and say that you are looking for him! -
Can anyone help me ID this Warwick Bass guitar
warwickhunt replied to sheldon's topic in Bass Guitars
A Warwick bass's serial number can be found on its headstock. Until 1988, it could be found on top of the headstock. Between 1989 and 2007, it was placed between the machine heads on the back of the headstock. Since the end of 2007 it has been placed below the machine heads.
The serial number was still on the top of the headstock in 1991-92 (and I have seen 'one' bass from 93 with it on the top of the headstock)! As has been said it is a bubinga body Corvette NOT a Thumb! If you bought it from ebay and paid via paypal lodge a complaint asap and demand a refund... unless you paid a pittance for it! -
If you are pushing out the volume from a NV412 and on large-ish stages in a 1000 seater, that is where you need the bigger rig. I doubt my 2x210's would do it without very decent monitoring and maybe fills, with a 550w amp. ..and I am not sure I would be wanting to hook up less cab power into a DB750 that might have to ramp it up a bit.
I'd agree though I'd say that if you were playing 1000+ seater venues then your cabs are purely monitors and the size of the cab is possibly less relevant (unless the band have TOTAL disregard for on-stage sound); as you say at that kind of gig you'd be expecting decent monitoring/side-fills.

I'm not sure what good sending the scan of an ID card might be (is it someone in the UK asking for that... doesn't sound like it), it isn't something that I'd ask for or find of benefit in ascertaining someone trustworthiness (unless it has your address, photo and can be backed up with relevant corresponding documents/images). Though conversely, I'd not take a blind bit of notice if someone offered me an ebay username as 'proof' that someone was honest, it can mean very little and is fairly flimsy proof of honesty. Unfortunately if it is an expensive item and you/the buyer are in different countries and can't reach an agreement, I'd just let it go and move on... unless the buyer has some super-duper credibility (a forum moderator etc) and you can trust them by sending the bass before payment. Have you considered using a '3rd party' to hold the bass/payment until you can both be satisfied?
Thanks for your input guys. I have the feeling that 2 DB112 is not going to be enough coming from a 700 Watt Bergantino cab?
Don't kid yourself! I went from a 2100 watt Tech Soundsystems 6x10 to the pair of 1x12DB cabs and I didn't look back. There is nothing that the Neo 6x10 cab could do that these DBs couldn't do!
I use 1 x DB112 and 1xDB112NT with a GK MB500 head and find it more than adequate for most gigs. Unless you are going out without PA support I wouldn't want anything more
Ditto, same cabs but with 550w Thunderfunk and I have played in various loud bands (sans PA) and the DB12s have been more than adequate for large pub/medium club gigs. I 'suppose' if it were a monstrously loud band with wailing full Marshall stacks and a drummer going through the PA when the bass wasn't, then I might say the 2x12 doubled up or a pair of 4x10 but you'd be fair going it some to need these!
Is the pre-amp installed under the cover in the back or is there a cut out block in the side? I'm assuming the low output is the pre-amp gone down the swanny from your other posts?
The preamp is installed in a rear screwed on cover (all controls are front mounted). The low output is something I've enquired about but no idea why it is so quiet and it may be that I'll get it looked at because I don't feel that it is the preamp because it equally affects the magnetic pup. AFAIK the mag and piezo don't share a preamp so if it was just the piezo quiet then I could agree that it was a fried preamp but both being quiet makes me think that it is battery or wiring/socket problem. Seeing as how there is a cheaper AB20 for sale on BC for £325 (doesn't have fancy woods or mag pup), I think it could prove worthwhile having it repaired and increasing the value accordingly.
