1. The volume is as good as any other electro-acoustic (plenty enough for hearing yourself though you'd have no chance with it unamplified against a drummer). Postage isn't a problem as it has a hardcase specifically shaped/made for it; cost about £15-£20. Cheers
2. If you need a plate to fit then just draw/trace what you require and ask Howard (the bass doctor) to make one to fit; his plate materials are absolutely stunning (not horrible red/pepperoni) and generally as cheap as an off the shelf jobbie.
3.
Gorgeous, stunning, lust Fancy a very light Bob Glaub
If I wasn't having a clear out I may well have been asking for an accurate weight on the BG but...
4. Howard (the bass doctor) could probably do you one very easily and the quality of material is second to none!
5. This used to be mine and if you like slim, thin necks then this is to die for... however if you like a big lump of tree-trunk then it'll not suit. Great bass!
6. That's the most 'headed' headless bass that I have ever seen!
7.
Any trades?
'Probably' not as I am trying to clear the decks for a house downsize move. If I were to take a trade it would have to be a 4 string and of such a value that I wouldn't lose out if I sold it straight away!
8.
Or you could sell me your honeyburst Sterling with the mutes. :-)
Oddly enough there is nothing in it between the cherryburst Sterling (sans mutes) and the darker burst Sterling with mutes, I am simply keeping the muted one because of the two it may be worth something in the future!
9.
Hi there, potentially interested in the amp, could you also PM me re price? Assuming you are prepared to split of course! Cheers!
The price for the pair is £950 and the Hellborg is worth the biggest chunk of that so I'd have to say that the pre is £800 and the power £150... the rack case (SKB/Gator style) is a freebie I suppose! It'd probably make more sense for someone to buy the lot and sell off the bits they didn't want as the power should be worth £200 all day long and the case is £30-£40.
10.
beautiful - the bloke i was in a band with at school in leeds had one...it was the first 'proper' guitar i'd ever seen in the flesh they still make me swoon.
I've kept it 20 years for that very reason... never gigged or used it in anger in all of that time; I just love the aesthetics of it!
11.
That is very nice and with what appears to be a maple neck will not suffer the 'Honey I snapped the headstock' moment.
Yes the neck is maple (and stronger than LP mahogany... are 335's mahogany?), I also think that the break angle is less steep than on other Gibbo guitars. Certainly no breaks or cracks at all.
12. It's a lush playing bass and you'd be hard pushed to find one as nice but I MUST rationalise a few guitars (just posted three in the other section of BC), basses and amps as I am likely down-sizing house!
13. Yet another instrument that I've owned from new and a house move is making me rationalise what I have and use! I defy anyone to find a 12 string... even a 6 string acoustic that has as nice an action as this guitar; it really is as easy to play as a regular (well set-up) 6 string electric. The guitar has a soundhole pup installed (by Sound Control when I bought it) which is a Fishman 'Rare Earth' model. It is wired direct to the output pin and there are no controls mounted to the guitar so it can be easily removed if desired. It has a few surface scratches and swirls but nothing major or detrimental (I used this in preference to my other instruments when doing productions, parties, buskers etc.). It has an excellent tone and sounds lush in an acoustic setting. £300
14. Owned by me from new (IIRC I bought it when the BB's first came out) and only ever strummed in the house. It's in good nick and the gigbag (excellent heavy duty jobbie) has remained unused in the loft/under the bed. Not a lot I can say but there are loads of great reviews on the t'interweb! £250
15. I've owned this 20+ years (bought it from the guitarist I was in a band with) and the dust/cobwebs are equally vintage but included in the price. From the serial number I'm lead to believe that this is a 1988 and that sounds about right. The headstock has 'Epiphone by Gibson' and a tree of life style inlay on it, with an 'E' logo on the truss rod cover. The guitar is burst with white binding & 2 skinny black stripes (including the edge of the fingerboard), fingerboard has block pearl inlays that have triangular abalone insets. It still has the stickers on the heel and headstock that show the serial number as being 880 802432. A few marks but nothing serious for a 24 year old guitar. The hardware and pup covers have some pitting but everything works exactly as it should! £450
16.
yeah jonnybass that's the one, got it fot £900 this morning, well chuffed with it, thanks for the replies everyone,
IIRC blocks on the fingerboard make that an 'Ultra Vintage' model.
17. I take great care with the comfort of my basses!

I've been told that it is unusual in as much as it has a one piece body (they are generally centre-joined 2 piece) and the colour matched headstock was a customer option. This has been owned by me twice and a couple of other BCers and all have had good things to say... odd that we have sold it but there you go! I'm not prepared to haggle on the price (despite there being cheaper Sterlings for sale on Basschat) as this is a cracker and despite downsizing house in the near future, I'd happily hold onto this and flog one of my others! Just been set-up and strung with a fresh set of D'Addario Nickels.

I'm not prepared to haggle on the price as this is a cracker and despite downsizing house in the near future, I'd happily hold onto this and flog one of my others! Just been set-up and strung with a fresh set of Thomastik alloys.
20. Manufacturer: Warwick Model: Hellborg Country of origin: Germany The only 'marks' of any kind are very slight mounting bolt scuffs (not visible when rack mounted). I 'really' can't justify having this and my Thunderfunk (downsizing house). I could wax lyrical about the tone but it is all subjective but needless to say if you read the reviews etc. you'll know that this is quality kit and based upon the classic Neve desk preamp.
21. Manufacturer: Fender Model: Precision ('54 reissue 'Flower Power') Country of origin: Japan Body: Basswood (...I think!) Neck: Maple Fingerboard: Maple Pick-ups: Original Preamp: N/A Hardware: Original. Bridge - Thrubody. Tuners - reverse Finish: Original Case/Gigbag: N/A but could add 'new' Fender C&G at used cost Extras: N/A Weight: 8lb 10oz Positives: Excellent condition. No worming or dings other than a 2-3mm one near the jack socket. Recessed output socket replaced. Negatives: See above; socket replaced for better quality and non-recessed type. Price: [s]£500[/s] £450 I believe these reissues were only made for a couple of years, so may well be sought after in years to come. I'll include a brand new and boxed Seymour Duncan 'Vintage' pick-up; it wasn't bought for this bass (was to be fitted to a 'Sting' bass) as the pup sounds excellent but it gives you the option if you want to swap around. This model has the more comfortable forearm contouring.
22. Manufacturer: Washburn Model: AB30 Country of origin: Japan Body: Flame maple back, front and sides with cream binding inc rear centre Neck: Mahogany gloss lacquer Fingerboard: Rosewood Pick-ups: Original - Bridge piezo + magnetic humbucker Preamp: Original - front mounted Vol/Pan/Bass/Treble controls Hardware: Original - Chrome tuners. Rosewood bridge Finish: Original lacquered Case/Gigbag: Original AB shaped Washburn case Extras: N/A Weight: 6lb 11oz Positives: Excellent condition. No worming or dings other than one small lacquer ding on the side Negatives: Very low output, no idea as to why! Neck strap button moved approx 1" for better strap fitting Price: £250 No idea about the low output; it may be a simple fix, I have no idea, it still works but you need to boost your amp input. It really is a nice bass but I 'must' slim down as we are planning on a house move (downsize).
