Nice one Dave.

Excellent amps (and pretty good cabs... especially for the money), that go on forever and 'probably' only let down by their aesthetics; if they were a lush looking piece of kit people probably wouldn't be so disparaging about them.

I bought this recently as I have a huge amount of love for Glock amps and I had visions of this replacing my Thunderfunk (inspired by the fact that my last Glock was fabulous but at 300w just didn't 'quite' cut the mustard in a loud band not using PA support); I will stress that this appears significantly louder @ 400w than my old Bass Art amp did @ 300w. However, in A/B comparisons I just can't make that move away from the TF, not that there is a lot in it but the TF just edges it due to the fact that the Glock is just a bit too sweet and slick! Plenty of info available on-line about these and they are/were stupendously expensive due to the quality of build (and it shows in the tone). It has 2 effects loops, 3 mid EQ as well as bass and treble, seperate active/passive inputs, tuner out (muted from the front). It is passive cooling (no noisy fans) but as such it does get warm so I'd not stick it in a tiny cramped case (the amp is 3U so 4U at a minimum though I do have a 6U case available for sale cheap if required). A few scratches/marks to the case but nothing too bad (pics to follow if needed). I'll also include an XLR to Speakon lead as XLR outputs aren't that common (but far better than 1/4 connections) as output connections, you can make leads up easily enough and I'll supply an extra XLR for someone if they want to knock up a spare lead. £400 but will entertain trades for a Line 6 G50 or early Warwick Streamer bass (80's) which I'll add a wedge of cash to.
great dolphin vid, but i thought Money was played at a lower position than that (in B?) - fab tone though, I think I've found the bass to save my pennies for
It is played in B... and I did!

Not sure where these might go best but they are Warwick related... so here they are! I've been asked a couple of times for reference sounds for Warwick basses and though I don't have a fraction of those that I've owned in the past I thought that I'd stick a couple up (thanks to Luke for reminding me... again ). #1 Warwick Streamer Stage I '5th Anniversary' 1984/1987 Bass (info on the youtube footnotes) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Qd9lvcWRsw&feature=youtu.be
Well be assured that it will be much appreciated
Between me and you... It's just to keep Luke quiet!

Ah! Now I've just realised that my first attempt/trial was with my Streamer 5th Anniversary bass and the file is busy uploading from the memory card in the PC rather than from the hard drive (learned a lesson here); hence I'm going to have to wait 30mins for that to finish before I can retrieve the memory card and do the Dolphin and SSI. At least I know that other than the upload time this can be done relatively easily.
well, I'd accept 'mustang sally' at a push - I don't want to push you out of your comfort zone!
You get what you're given me lad... and it may be in a couple of hours!
oh go on... do you do requests? Maybe a bit of Meters, or (at a push) Santana?
Do I look like a 'Jukebox'... it's worse than the heckles at a bad pub gig; 'Do something we know!' 'Do you do The Hunter?' I've started trying to do some recording on our little camera but the first 30 second clip that I did is going to take an hour to upload to youtube! Best you spend the next hour or two constructively, go listen to some Meters/Santana... that way you won't be disappointed when I don't do any!
talking of distinctive tones, wheres that video of a streamer stage one you meantioned doing? I'm thinking it will be back at work on monday and we'll all have to wait till half term!
LOL Will see what I can do now. I'd record the Dolphin but mine has got OLD flats on and doesn't sound 'typical' Warwick just now!
-
I've owned x2 Pro I - 4 strings and I have to say that my '89 4 string fretted bass had a nut width as wide as some 5 string basses. However, it was a flattened profile so not a handful, I'm not sure how wide the nut on a 5er is but I'd certainly have a try of one before you commit to buying. I presently have a Pro I CS fretless and the nut width is NOT as wide as the older one but the profile is also different (more squared off shoulders). The Dolphin looks like it will be large and unwieldy but they aren't, they are very comfy to play and have a very distinct tone.
Here's a pic of my old Stage 1. I used it exclusively for near on 20 years.
Really nice. I've only ever seen that pup config once before (could be the same bass ) so there can't be that many about!

A Heads Up If You're Looking At This Auction

He's responded and said... "went to pack the amp and thought there was a problem. turned out to be the surge protected socked not the amp. I didn't want to send it off un;ess it was perfect - it is perfect and all in the original packing. Used about 6 times. The guy was upset and destroyed my 100% rating even though I was just doing what I thought was right." When he sussed the amp was OK could he not have offered it to the OP? I've asked him if it is the same combo for which he has negative feedback? I got messed around with an identical situation regarding a new SAAB transponder key. Won it cheap and the guy ignored me for a week despite me paying immediately upon winning and then when I initiated action through paypal he refunded me saying it was lost... he relisted it 15 minutes after sending ebay the message about being lost. He then wanted me to retract my neg as he then claimed it was because my paypal payment looked dodgy, I said 'no' and then he responded to my feedback posting that he had multiple keys that's why it was relisted. Boiled my urine that he was telling so many stories but there is little you can do but leave negative feedback telling others what he has done! -
Yes that should be enough to get it pulled - but is that only if someone actually complains - do eBay check the ads themselves? BB
I've no idea if it is random/complaint/vigilance but I've had plenty of ebay pulls and I have a feeling that all they have to do is search using 'include description' and putting in "cash on collection only"!
-
His sale may not reach to the end... he has stated cash on collection ONLY! That's generally justification for ebay pulling a listing; after all, that circumnavigates their chance of getting more money out of the seller via paypal.
-
There's no reserve on that!
-
This was mine and I have to say it is no reflection on the bass that it is up for sale (Col doesn't know when to say 'no' when buying stuff LOL), my research into the bass and with help from various sources does seem to indicate that this colour, finish and config is very rare if not unique (there were VERY few made in the first place). I have to say that the neck on this is as slim as the slimmest Jazz and yet it is rock solid and the piezo mixed in with the mag pups gives a blinding array of sounds. Oh and did I mention how light it is?

Musicman Sterling LE Black Onyx(What Value??)
Yes agreed it is a difficult area - mind you index linking over 21 yrs should add 100% ish to the original insured value?
No the maths doesn't quite work like that! Oh and you can work it out however you like but at the end of the day the only calculation that counts is the formulae that the insurance company use! BTW it is presently insured for £2200
