1. Massively undervalued basses and a bargain price with the proper MM case.
2.
Warwickhunt / Mark_Bass How long a set would you normally play?
2 x 45 but tbh it isn't set in stone and I've no problem playing longer, especially if it is a good gig... I don't consider the 'playing time' as something I get paid for; I get paid for humping the gear in and out of the gig and getting home at silly o'clock (and dealing with all of the other shyte ).
3. Shameless plug but I have the 'Vintage' Seymour Duncan brand new in the box (never fitted) available for about 50% of the new price. Got to be worth a punt and even if you don't like it then you can sell it and get your money back... a free trial essentially!
4. My present covers band charge minimum £250 for a standard pub gig (exception 'possibly' being small pubs when we want to fill up the diary and still minimum £220). Wedding gigs are a minimum of £500 but that is doing the gig with our normal PA and no silly arrive mid-afternoon; anything over and above that is reflected in a price bump.
5. You need to price mate otherwise it'll get pulled!
6.
Thanks guys, for organizing this. Great to meet you all. Good company and my son and I were made to feel very welcome. Jay-James sends his apologies for monopolizing your rig, he lost track of time (typical 14 year old) and I was too busy talking to realise!!! Just give me a shout if you ever want to try the Steinberger
...and you joined BC to say that, nice touch.
7.
I wonder why this has had eleven bids up to £122 when the seller clearly states that there is a reserve of £500?
It'll only get bid up in the increments that ebay sets and if folks are only placing small 'taster' bids then it'll stay fairly low. £550 for the body and neck alone... Hmmm!
8. Seems not a lot of money for what it is.
9. From where I stood I couldn't hear the Aguilar lacking anything that the Walkabout had... BUT that's not to say that it was any better! I think you need to sweet talk Dee into letting you try the Aggie in a gig situation, with your P bass.
10. Final reduction to £450 for the bass; no case/gigbag (it WILL be well packaged if being couriered) no spare pup.
11. He has feedback that indicates that someone in the NE has collected from him and plenty of feedback of people who have posted to and from him so addresses shouldn't be difficult. However, it does seem that he has plenty positives and if there has been talk of divorce etc, then it might be worth trying to get a phone number to speak to him personally and find out what the craic is; there may be a perfectly plausible explanation!
12.
Again, thanks to all for offers of help. I don't actually know where mojobass is based. He didn't tell me, and it wasn't in his sig or his posting details.
99% certain he's in the NE!
13.
The seller in this case uses the BC name mojobass. If anyone here knows him, please get in touch.

He's from my neck of the woods, isn't he?
I also recognise that username as being someone from in the NE... I may even have been messaging him fairly recently! If (like WoT) I can help give me a shout; I'll check if he's active on another local music forum because there's more chance of someone there giving him a 'nudge' to do the right thing.
14.
I will bring some dairy lea dunkers & some um bongo.
I have visions of another loaves and fishes style miracle!
15. On a natural neck there shouldn't be any need to wax it (you can if you want but if you don't buff out ALL of the wax it can feel sticky! I'd suggest a bit of lemon oil on just to take any waxy residue off but I'm unsure of the 'bobbly' feel..
16. Oh and that looks bang tidy! Where are you based?
17. Forum rules dictate that you need to put a price on it mate.
18. Yep, that's chewed! I once got a mate to tag weld (not sure if that is the 'proper' term) a nut to the end of a chewed up truss rod but it wasn't on a Squier so I've no idea if you could get into that to do it. You might be able to use a tap/die but the hassle and cost (if you get someone to try and do it) of that or taking off the board probably doesn't make it cost effective... look for a cheap replacement neck on Basschat or eBay!
19.
Its weird, because of all the people I've chatted to, most stay away from here because of negative experiences they have had, and move over to Talkbass.
Really! That does surprise me... they've obviously been asking questions about whether under-powering a speaker causes it to implode!
20. Got any pics of the offending article?
21. Are these all the same bass that we are talking about... I'm a simple kind of guy and I like clarity!
22. I can take this along to the Bass Bash tomorrow if anyone is interested! http://basschat.co.uk/topic/196270-the-north-east-bass-bash-feb-3rd-pelaw-gateshead/page__st__20__p__1960283__hl__bass%20bash__fromsearch__1#entry1960283
23. Can I ask if steps have been taken to ensure that the seller isn't/hasn't been doing any further deals? Patently the Mods don'r want to slander this guy if he has done nothing wrong and is simply out of the loop but it would be reassuring to know that in the meantime he is being monitored!
24.
Actually I'm wrong, I thought you were Mr Hurd but youre not, but I know who it is now. Speak to you on sunday! Sounds confusing to outsiders but its not actually!
Oh yes it is!
25.
Ahhhh, depends who is asking? Technically I had two bands, one that promised regular gigs but didn't deliver & one that was honest and says he's too lazy to book them....I still play for the latter occasionally!
Then yes it is you, as Toddy is a lazy s0d (love him and he could have been a contender but needs a kick up the ar5e sometimes) and I should know as I was the bassist in his earlier band. Can you guess who it is yet? Sorry to anyone else reading this nonsense!
