1.
Still, I would like a P/J set, and they don't seem to be anywhere (apart from on Bartolini's site).
I have a PJ set (new and boxed) that were meant to go into a bass... but didn't! I'd sell those to fund a pair of Soapbars for my Bolin.
2.
You are right but nothing to stop one from increasing the depth, no?
Absolutely agree, it's just that some folks may have thought the pup would just drop straight in and 'may' have been disappointed if it wouldn't.
3.
I have a Seymour Duncan SMB-4A unused in box, with mount screws. £90 RRP. £60 posted. Also a EBMM sterling pickups. Its from 1994 and is a little aged on the magnets, but is sonically sound. Ceramic 3 coil pickup. I think you can wire it however you would like (parallel, serires, single coil)and can be retro fitted to stingrays. No idea for price so... £80 posted. Both ono, no trades need the dosh. Bank transfer prefered. Thanks.
I could be wrong (often am ) but isn't the depth of the Sterling and Stingray pups different! I've no idea whether the Ray is deepest in which case it could be the case that it's the Sterling that can't take a Ray pup but there is a nagging doubt in my mind that they are different depths... just a nagging doubt, not fact!
4.
Why wouldn't you get back what you paid for it 3 months earlier? In my experience decent basses don't really lose much after the initial depreciation from new unless it's been badly treated. In fact the older they get the more they seem to be worth. IMO of course
I could be wrong but people may be referring to the fact that some folks buy 'New' basses and expect to get back exactly what they paid for them (either immediately or within the next few years); I concur that after the initial depreciation, most basses don't depreciate that much and some can appreciate!
5. I used to gig with a 250w 2x10 H&K Bassbase combo and it had no problems keeping me in the mix in a 'pub' Rock band setting. However, though I managed fine, it would have been nice to have had more headroom/drivers, so I'd never say never but it does depends on the quality of the gear that you are using. If you are considering going to a stereo/twin stack, then I'd seriously consider all of your options before going down that route as there are a multitude of ways of being heard effectively.
6.
... seriously must be worth more than this!
Yes but the auction has days to go, so the price may well be down in the dumps right now but could end anywhere... including staying at the price it is, I suppose!
7. What sort of music? You could have a quick look here and get some ideas... http://www.onthecasemusic.co.uk/gigs If you want to know what a particular band or venue is like, give me a shout as I may know them/it.
8. Do a search on the forum and you'll uncover views re. NKRV. However that SSII specifically has been listed and relisted for months now!
9. Absolute pleasure to deal with and his Aria bass couldn't have been better packaged for delivery... and I mean that it literally could NOT have been packed better by anyone; a bomb-proof box custom built to ship the bass!
10. LEDs on a 91 bass, however it's unlikely that Warwick would be able to do anything for you (they are a factory fit I assume). You may be better off going to Simms or similar but someone competent with a multimeter may be able to identify if it is an easy fix.
11. The vertical storage shouldn't have any impact whatsoever, I'd have thought it'd be a completely different reason. How old is the amp? I noted that you are in N Sields (I'm less than 10 miles away), I can put you onto a couple of very good local technicians who could give it a service (which is the least that I'd recommend if you are relying on this whilst on cruise/ferries). Better to be safe than sorry!
12. Yak! It's blue... he should be offering a discount on the BIN for the colour.
13. I have to agree with WoT that the whole song is great, first half (non-F1) section is as good as the 2nd half. We used to cover it (putting a twist on it) and when you get to the chorus you can really let rip and do stuff with it, especially if you have imaginative musicians that can go with the flow and use a bit of imagination.
14. So is this for sale by a BC member or is this in the wrong place?
15. All of your photobucket links/pics are gone mate! Oh and if you've got it up for sale you'll need to stick a price on it to comply with forum rules.
16. Ooooh but that's one fugly headstock!
17.
Good shout
Not if I was gonna collect it in 3 weeks time!
18.
Go on WH you know you want it LOL!
I'm driving back up from Dover in 3 weeks time... but I've a feeling it'll be gone!
19.
Hello All, Up for sale is my well used Mesa Boogie Bass 400+. It is fully working and is just superb. I'm selling due to also having a MarkBass SA450 and an incoming new amp making this one even more redundant. It comes in a SKB rack case. Firm £500. No trade offers please. Collection/meet up only as it's way too heavy and delicate to survive a courier companies punishment! I live in Harrow, N.W. London.
So can you meet me in Newcastle Upon Tyne?
20.
A 59 P bass for less than the cost of a 70's one, I would be/am truly suspicious. Bargain postage price too.
LOL Hadn't noticed the courier cost, I'm even more sure that it's genuine now... NOT!
21. Oh and he states you are NOT to hit the BIN button... me thinks he's going to ask you to move the asking price one decimal place! LOL
22.
just saw this: http://www.ebay.co.u...=item4aaf9b3875 I'm having it if anyone can help me verify it!?
