1.
I wasn't a great fan when I first saw one, but they have definitely grown on me. I asked the question about the balance on a previous post a couple of years ago, & most people said it was the same as a normal EB with horns. If had a spare few grand to commission one, I'd have one. Cheers, louisthebass
I can only speak for my Bolin (which has a strap button extension on the top bout so isn't a likely fair assessment of all SCs) but it has perfect balance. Oddly enough I can switch between my Bolin, Sterling or Warwicks and the last thing that I consider is whether the bass is a SC or DC... they are just 'basses'!
 2.
one day left at £1000 after back up to £1350
You're some salesman... that's £50 more than the last time you said it would go back to full price!
 3. I have a sneaking suspicion the seller has used info skimmed from one of my threads on the Warwick forum (maybe even a forum registered user) as the bumpf he has written about it being the 5th anniversary bass is b*llocks! HOWEVER, it is very reminiscent of stuff that was posted on one of my threads about various Ltd Ed Warwick basses 'including' a completely different 5th Anniversary bass.
 4.
Gotcha. I thought he just meant it was the same bass, not his actual photo. Sorry about that!
It is indeed my photo (lifted either from BC or the Warwick Forum when I had it for sale) and duly posted in this thread direct from my current photobucket account but tbh the birdseye maple is so distinctive you'd be hard pushed to not spot the 'fingerprint' of that bass.
 5.
And he has removed your picture!
'I'm having both of them'... chuffin greet big liar then! GremlinAndy still owns the other bass that was pictured and that is a fact. So he's now pulled the picture that incriminates him as a liar/scammer; that's a shame.
 6.
you still got the marcus miller jazz if so would you consider a swap
Have you read the thread and looked at some of the links to other threads... and a 16mth old thread is a long shot!
 7. Please be cautious if considering bidding/buying this Ltd Ed Streamer bass on ebay... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Warwick-Streamer-Ltd...=item415b02b8a1 Why you ask am I saying be cautious? Well I know for a fact I didn't sell the bass to the ebay seller and one of the images of the bass that he has used is MINE! I did sell my bass a few years ago to BCer, Gremlinandy and I'm fairly certain that he hasn't sold it; though I've PMd him to check if he sold it I thought I'd put this up as it might be better to be safe than sorry. If you look at the images that the seller has used you will also note that the front facings of the images are of different basses. So he's pulled images from listings or forum pics of at least two of these basses... I'd be very wary!
 8.
Warwickhunt, the Sadowsky Tokyo was sold with Badass Bass II and plastic knobs for high and low frequency and metal knob for volume
That I did not know! What does it weigh?
 9.
the nearest offer at the moment... ;-)
Now if it hadn't been withdrawn I'd have trumped the £1500 with £1550!
 10.
... came from america (some of you suggest thats good some favour the jap ones)
Are you sure? I thought these were all MIJ basses!
 11. You'll always get a wide spread of prices depending on whether the person is after buying or if they have one themselves and want to see the price kept high for when they sell their's! However, a quick trawl through past sales will probably reveal that anywhere between £250-£350 is realistic.
 12.
£30-40? To change a jack socket? It's a 5 minute job, dear god.
I know that and you know that but unfortunately I know of guitar repairers/builders/fixers who charge £30+ an hour and whether it be 5mins or not, a minimum fee of £30 +parts is the charge! I'm not defending their charges but I suppose if a tech even took 15-30mins to do the actual job (which is realistic as opposed to 5mins) you have to consider that dealing with the customer on drop-off/collection will add to the actual job time and while he's doing little jobs like sockets he isn't getting on doing bigger better paid jobs! I say do it yourself but charges for stuff like sockets can easily be £30-£40.
 13.
It's not Warwick, it's the Switchcraft designed socket. I've had nothing but trouble with them - not just on Warwicks... My bongo's the same, as is my Ibanez ATK. When it's my turn to rule I'll outlaw the b*stard things!!!
Got to disagree! The design may be the same but the quality of construction sets the likes of the Switchcraft and the Neutrik way above the Warwick spec one. I've 'probably' owned more Warwicks than anyone else on BC... or anywhere else for that matter and as such I must have replaced dozens of sockets and I can honestly say that the quality components mentioned will last many times longer than the original spec sockets. In fact I once bought a couple of replacement Warwick sourced sockets and they failed within a year or two whereas Switchcraft replacements are still going strong after 15 years. Just my honest and unbiased take on these sockets!
 14.
That Bolin is lovely! (The Sonus is pretty hot too.... )
Sonus is gone but the Bolin and Streamer won't be going any time soon!
 15. Warwick jack socket... nuff said! Get a Soundcraft or Neutrik one and you'll be sorted. TBH it's a relatively (dead easy) DIY job and should theoretically be a £20 job but seeing as how many places will charge you a minimum £30-£40 the total could end up being that +£6-£10 for the socket.
 16.
cant stand them..and IMO totally pointless, looks awful and weighs more.. does a SC Fodera sound better than a DC Fodera.. me think not... dont get me atarted on that Warwick thing..
Maybe they weigh more than a bass that has the same design but with the wood cut away but by definition a SC doesn't have to be heavier than a DC. My Bolin weighs 8lb... is that heavy?
thats a good point..im thinking they dont need a truss rod though..?
SC basses act in the same way and they do have rods. Love em or loathe them; I would take my Bolin over virtually any other bass but I also love my Streamer, so I guess I have best of both worlds!
 17. I've just fitted red silk wrap LaBellas to my Sterling.
 18.
I'd still expect it to be more, even with basic emg's, I don't think you often see neck through 5ers at that kind of price!
When you say neck through 5ers do you specifically mean Schecters or just in general? The price of NT basses has tumbled over the years and I've seen a few NT basses going for the low 100's which I find astonishing but then I've no idea how good they!
 19. So is it just me that thinks the G string is inbound from the edge of the fingerboard in relation to the E string? It could be the camera angle but I'm fairly certain it is an imbalance in neck/string alignment.
 20. Oddly enough I think the seller is a BCer! I do have to take issue with the description of the bass being stock other than a belated mention of two 'chips'. 'Chips'! It looks like a couple of sections have totally splintered off and have been stuck back in with chewing gum. No mention of what looks like massive fret shrinkage or a refret and as has been mentioned the mute assembly appears to be missing unless it is included but not fitted.
 21.
Gone even more vintage now. . . '63 Sunburst P with rosewood board in the house
My YOB... doesn't exist without pics though! <edit> Ooops pics on the next page!
 22.
The difference between the new values and the resale values astounds me (cost vs worth / value)
+1 I've had my red Streamer Stage I (1990) on ebay for £1100 BIN and I had a few offers of folks offering me used basses as part-ex and expecting to get a straight swap for their bass which 'might' have cost £1100 when brand new. One guy in particular offered me a Sterling which I said might be interesting depending upon cash he'd put up as well. His initial response was that as his bass cost £1300 new it should be a straight swap; I pointed out that the SSI new now is £2300 so hardly a fair swap. Now looking at new values I was being reasonable but lets just say his response to my view of values was met with some hostility and a strong view on his part of the relative values of Warwick and Musicman basses. He didn't get a trade! LOL
