1.
Ok, ta. So it's a sign that the seller ended the auction rather than ebay ending it?
Yes. If ebay did it you'd not have any trace other than the listing number.
 2.
AAARRRGGGHHHH!!! i would love to have Rita back, but no money "ANYONE WANT TO BUY MY SPECTOR"a fantastic bass and if it hasnt gone already im sure a certain previous owner with more disposable income than me will be along in a minute. you new bass must be very special
I have the cash... but can't do the collection!
 3. +1 on the Marleaux price.
 4. So who's gonna contact him and say 'I left that behind, it's mine and I'd like it back'? However, who would leave their bass cab behind when moving!
 5. Do you have an accurate weight and what is the balance like?
 6.
Oh bloody hell!
What bigT said! I can 'almost' guarantee it'll be worth less than you want for it and it's value will be more than folks will offer. That sounds vague but they are literally THE most undervalued bass available used today (bar none). I realise that you're a noob but just a bit of advice (nowt to do with price), give folks the chance to view your thread before posting another identical one... or three.
 7.
Hi Ive attached some pictures of my March 83 JV Precision which has been in the loft for the past 5 years unplayed. I dont get the use out of it as i have moved on to more "Sophisticated" Instruments ( 5/6 strings etc). Ive heard rumours that it might be worth a penny or two these days so can anyone give a balanced view on this. Ive heard outrageous claims and wonder what the concensus was...
It's worth anywhere from £300 - £900 (though the upper figures tend to be reserved for mint condition 'collectors pieces' particularly Jazzes). TBH you could advertise it at anywhere in between those figures and you might still not get a bite. A JV P bass modded with a Jazz pup was on ebay recently for a BIN of £600/£550/£500/£400 and eventually sold for £360, that should give you an idea but it might be worth trawling through past BC sales to see what has actually sold (as opposed to been advertised) and for how much.
 8. Not the best pic but you get the idea!
 9.
What do you mean by a bit of solid foam? Is it a bit of packaging or something? I'd like to try that out.
The kind of hard/semi-hard foam that comes packed around new PCs/electrical equipment. The stuff I got is ideal as it literally is a rectangle which fits around the handle (sitting between the two cabs) but is sufficiently wide that it almost goes to the edge of the cab and forms a nice solid 'D/O' ring around the handle; same goes for the top cab/amp. It really does make a heck of a difference. I may have a pick from a gig which I'll stick up to illustrate. <edit> As an added bonus it isolates any vibration to the amp thus prolonging the life of the amp... probably!
 10. I actually turn my Aggie DB112's on their edge so that I get a bit more vertical height. Stacked normally they barely reach waist height but stacked on edge (with solid foam between to avoid handles tipping the cabs/amp over) they are at shoulder height with the horn at the top. They are a little precarious but unless I was at a mental gig there's no way they'd topple... "touch wood"! It makes a heck of a difference when on a confined stage and you want the maximum monitor output. I'm not sure if it has any afect on the FOH sound but it's not like I'm lacking any output.

 13.
Three Big Als on the forum for sale - is it a case of buses? Or something to discuss...?
Oddly enough I was just thinking the same thing!
 14.
Finally got into doing some proper playing today on my newly strung up project, the strings have been on a whole day and the E string snapped while I was resting my thumb lightly on it. Have la bella been having some quality control issues or something? Anyone else had problems with them lately?
Is that the ones with the blue silks?
 15. I'm lead to believe that the little bit of extra internal volume of the DB212 cab means that they go a little lower BUT I have to confess my pair of DB112's have never lacked bottom end! I'd have to agree that the pair of 112s gives you flexibility and that is why I have singles but by the same token I've only ever gigged once with a single cab (though I do rehearse with a single), I always double up for gigs... they are defo greater than the sum of the two parts!
 16. Check the same listing again... bliddy students have gone and lost a chuffin guitar now, bet they know where the xbox 360 and the beer is though!
 17.
Here's a Q... If you a LM250 & an LMII & you put a 2x10 4Ω cab on the LM250 & the same make & model of cab, but 8Ω on the LMII, would there be any noticeable differences (I know the LMII puts out more than 250w @ 8Ω, but is it gonna make a noticeable difference)? I'm guessing yes as the LMII will still have that little more. So best idea would be to sell the hypothetical 4Ω cab & get another identical 8Ω one so more air can be moved!
The first part... very little difference (iirc the LMII puts out 300w @ 8ohms). The second part... x2 8ohm cabs with hypothetically double the number of drivers as a single 4ohm cab (I am assuming here that you aren't talking about comparisons between say a 4x10 4 ohm cab and a pair of 1x10 cabs or something equally mismatched) will certainly move more air and would be my preferred option. However, if you are talking about comparisons between say a single 2x12 4 ohm cab and a pair of 1x12's @ a combined ohmage of 4 ohms then I wouldn't say there'd be much difference ESPECIALLY if you are comparing cabs from the same manufacturer (Aggie DB212 v Aggie DB112 x2).
 18. Not much difference but in real terms it's a little uncomfortable when you have a 250w amp virtually max'd... a 500w amp at the same 'perceived volume' just feels better. I've first hand experience of this (inc' quite recently) and I have to say it isn't nice when you know you are clipping your 250w amp to get enough volume; switching to a 500w amp (mid gig recently) and it does feel like you have the potential to go almost twice as loud even though the maths of it dictates that it can't be the case!
 19.
Thats nothing, if you're talking about unneccessary holes destroying a fine bass, take a look at the pics this guy has on this ad... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1956-Fender-Precisio...=item1c17db2a78 Makes you cry!!
"There are two tiny spring loaded pins inserted in the back of the upper and lower horns of the instrument, presumably so the previous owner could set the bass on a flat surface without nicking the finish. " I nearly wet myself at that one! Reading the description without looking at the pictures you could 'almost' overlook his mention of the 33 holes drilled in it!
 20.
i just wish i had e-mailed him faster as i mailed him my offer just minutes after this was sold on ebay...
Here's one for virtually an identical price... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=390317595842
 21.
Sold at eBay..... : ( thanks
Why the sad face? Likewise I'm about to make a sale on ebay (of a high end Warwick) and at the end of the day a sale is a sale no matter where it happens! In fact I'm sure you'll be getting more on ebay for your SSII than you would on BC.
 22.
I'll say £2.5K (maybe plus a gnat's bollock).
Phew! Well it's already £500 over what I thought a collector might pay.
 23.
LOL, nice try. Weight wise this one's the heavier of the two John, although being small bodies they tend to be lighter than Precisions or Jazzes anyway (the other Jag is stupidly light, and I mean stupidly). I'll check it on the scales later on and get back to you. Happy to upgrade it for you, I've a Badass II and a SD Quarterpounder P/J sitting around somewhere C
Odd how you can get two identical basses (especially modern ones) and they can differ so much in weight! So... chuck the SD P/J pups and the Hipshots in the lightest one (you can keep the BA as I know what you are like with them and you'll need it for your next project ) and I'll have it... Oh and a nice fresh set of flats (pyramid golds if you please) clinches the deal!
 24.
Having found myself looking at £150 PUPs on ebay last night and also considering a John East preamp, I think this baby had better go after all. It will otherwise cost me a bloody fortune (I've spent a couple of hundred on the other Jag as it is)
Stop messing about and get some money spent on it Chris... then I'll have it off you in a flash (what does it weigh btw)! <edit> Ooops forgot to add the smiley!
