1. Watched the 2nd vid clip... what's the problem? You come across as a competent covers band and tbh your singer seems to have come in for the most flack yet I wouldn't say that any one of you is better worse than each other, I've seen a lot worse bands doing the rounds! I can appreciate that you want to progress so asking folks for areas to improve on is admirable but there'll be just as much conflicting advice as there will constructive. At the end of the day improvements suggested by BCers re. lights etc is valid but song choices etc is subjective; you are a covers band getting paid to entertain (hopefully), just enjoy doing what you do and do it to the best of all of your abilities. Good luck.
 2. [s]No payment as yet but I'll update as and when![/s] [s]Now on hold for[/s] Sold to Joe!
 3. £500 off the matching SVT amp as well!
 4. Hardly my cup of tea but anyone in the market for a monster cab might save a bit by going to GuitarGuitar! A 'brand new' SVT 8x10 for £750 seems a decent deal! 5. No age at all to go and to Cancer... though I suppose Cancer has no concept of age!
 6. I've had a couple of these over the years and they rate in my top 5 of fave amps. I used to get annoyed that the top end (100w) amp was rated to 8 ohms and the bottom end (300w) amp was 4 ohms as like many others I rarely owned a 4 ohm AND an 8ohm cab! It was all just numbers at the time and it means less to me now but as a youngster trying to get the max out of my amp/cabs it was frustrating.
 7. No disrespect to your band or your singer because I applaud (quite literally) anyone prepared to get up and do it live as opposed to the bedroom warriors or those who simply practice/jam with their mates and never commit to actually performing BUT aside from the lyric reading (most bands I've been in for the last 20 yrs have had singers with lyric sheets as it's a crutch) I get the feeling from the short vid that your singer isn't an out-and-out 'Rock Chick'. She can patently sing and does some of that stuff well but (IMHO) I don't think she's comfortable with the whole ROCK/Performing side of things! I can imagine her being very good at Lounge music or even less rocky material but her dress/mannerisms/persona don't give me the impression she's 100% in with what you do... I stress this is simply a snap-shot decision based upon a 2 min vid, so don't go getting the hump with her as it may not be the case and I could quite easily be wrong. Even if she is out of her comfort zone it's not her fault and I'd suggest that you could do far worse for a singer, so maybe look at the whole band package! Where's my seat on these bliddy talent shows?

 9.
I do agree the neck is nice to play compared to others that are non-roadworn but that's it for me.
I've got a thing about basses that don't have worn in/rounded/rolled fingerboard edges and the worst culprits have been new Warwicks and Spectors! I can forgive most things but a fingerboard edge that is so sharp that it hurts has me putting down a bass quicker than a hot tattie!
 10.
no, JV squiers were either sen ash for earlier ones and then basswood. If you see figuring like the one in my profile pic it is sen ash, if not prob basswood. Otherwise look for a slightly more curved radius on the body than current fender, the 'router hump' they copied... then if jazz it will have (off the top of my head) the grounding wire on top between the bridge and bridge pup cavity, spiral bridge, cloth wiring on the wires in the cavity no extra routing under the pickguard.... i wouldn't pay too much for it mind, really the JV squier export stuff is good, but there were many other JV guitars being made for the domestic market too, not knowing what it is at best it is a basswood body, nicely finished with vintage type hardwear and USA made pups. any stamps in the neck pocket and how does your friend know what it is? and where has he put the neck... maybe kill him to get the neck?
You sure the early ones didn't come in Alder? I could swear that my first JV (bought new when they were released) was Alder!
 11. Delivery would be £15 for the pair. Bought and paid for getting delivered next week!

 13.
Yeah, I want something from 1983 - but what was actually good back then ? It certainly isn't Fenders.
The first Warwicks? Get them while they're still cheap!
 14.
I have a Streamliner 900 and RH750 all coming tomorrow,
Are you sending back the one that you don't like?
 15. Strange that Fender only fitted part of the transfer to the headstock, is that normal for painted/matched headstocks?
 16.
I probably am a bit anal about my gear, someone else may have been perfectly happy with it.
I think you did the right thing Al, it's what I'd have done. However, as you say someone else may have been happy with a few marks especially if the price was very keen... maybe someone should phone up and ask if they have any ex-demo PJB gear at a decent knock down price (possibly offering even less than you paid)!
 17.
... it'd be nice to see Fender create a bass with the feel of a Roadworn, without the hokey damage. Now that'd sell.
That begs the question; 'why do Fender sell basses that don't feel as good as the Roadworn'? Shouldn't all Fender basses feel as good and what is it that makes them 'feel' a better bass? Other than the rolled/worn fingerboard edges what is it that makes the Roadworns better than many other Fender models. Ultimately they'd have been screwed together in the same factory by the same workers as all of the other MIM basses.
 18.
it was on here mate cant beat a good old basschat deal
Nice one!

 20.
Sold
Was it through ebay or here... just canvassing public opinion/money?
 21.
BumperRooney. Offers will be listened to but bear in mind I'm deaf on one side.
Oooh Oooh Oooh I'd like to offer less... but I have a feeling I'll end up paying more!
 22.
Colour me very interested, whereabouts are you and how much do you think it'd cost to post 'em? EDIT: hang on a minute, is the shape of the cab like this: or like this ?
This! ...so long as 'this' is Trapezoid shaped! They aren't your usual cuboid/rectangular shape they are wider at the front than back so that when put on their side on the floor they naturally tilt back and fire up.
