1.
Are you guys all trying to tell me its fake? Oh sh*t
Never mind £820 is cheap enough, as that famous vintage guitar dealer in Norfolk will buy it off you for more than you paid... after all they say it's genuine and surely they'd snap your arm off to get a genuine 64 P bass for under a grand!
 2.
I'm the high bidder because Norfolk Vintage Guitars said it may in fact be a '63
Blissfully disappointed on all counts then!
 3.
£720 with one hour to go.
Someone is going to be either bitterly disappointed or blissfully ignorant and happy!
 4.
If someone says £100+ to you for this work I'd walk away. Good luck.
I simply quoted £100 as a throw away figure... however, if (and I'm not saying it is so with the OP bass) the active preamp or a pup were defective then it could easily be £100 to have a bass sorted inc' set-up!
 5.
thanks for the advice about sorting the issues out...i think you folks may be right. i was hoping the (what i consider to be) low price would tempt people, but it seems not. time to take it down to the bass gallery i reckon.
Just to add the caveat that any bass has a ceiling price! Spending £100 on the bass will not make it worth £350. I'd establish if there is a going rate for similar basses in 'sorted' condition and then when you get a quote (always dodgy getting an estimate as that leaves the door open for all sorts of extra work) for repairs, I'd weigh up if the bass is going to sell for what you need to recoup. There's always a price at which someone will take a punt and take it off you regardless of issues... OHM has thrown his hat in the ring! Again; just trying to ensure you don't get blinkered.
 6.
... I'd even brave Tottenham too
Steady on!
 7.
ok, is the 'lectrics that are putting people off ? or is it me ? /wails and kicks feet/
As an outsider I'd have to say that NOT getting the problems fixed and getting it set-up (mentioning that it needs a set-up indicates that 'something' needs to be done), could well hamper your sale at any price! I've no idea if £250 is a good or bad price for one these days (I had one when they first cane out and recall that £250 was about the going rate back then), but if the fixes are as cheap and easy as you say then getting them done could justify a couple of quid added onto your present sale price... otherwise potential buyers could be stroking their chin thinking; '£250 plus cost of new electrics, possibly inc pups, PLUS the cost of a set-up... could get expensive'! However, £275 for a fully sorted bass with no issues could be attractive. As I say I'm just playing 'Devil's Advocate' and looking at this as a neutral outsider; fear of the unknown is a sure way of folks keeping money in their wallets especially when times are hard.
 8. Great tone for that style of music but (imho) what odd technique!
 9. I had an early Pro I NT version of this and it was a stunning bass. Very versatile and yet with a distinct tone to it if you wanted it. Balanced lovely as well... what's the weight like on the SN model?
 10.
I'm sort of tempted, mainly because you won't see anyone else with one. But I've got serious Warwick GAS at the moment.
You're unlikely to see another 5 very often that is for sure but stay away from the NE as you may bump into me playing a Bolin 4... Oh and I understand about the Warwick GAS!
Where's Bolin aficionado warwickhunt when you need him?!!!
Oddly enough Clarky, I actually sold this Bolin to Owen. I can fully empathise with how Owen must have felt when the loaned bass was returned as it was lush!
 11.
Can anyone tell me why in a private listing eBay don't show seller identities? It's just gone to £510 in a couple of big £100 jumps. Am I a suspicious old codger?
There are two sides to the argument re. lack of visible bidder identities on 'Private' listings. On the positive - it stops unscrupulous (scumbags) contacting your bidders and offering them an identical item for less money or to offer them an identical item for a set price; this happened to me lots when I sold non-music related items on ebay and it's bliddy annoying when you pay fees to sell your stuff and other sellers just came along and poached your bidders/potential buyers. I know for a fact that this happened as I had bidders ask if I would remove their bids as they'd been contacted by 'xyz' and they had offered them an identical item at a good price! On the downside, you have no idea if there is shill bidding going on!
 12. The ebay bass is IMHO a kosher Korean made Fender the plate, top, logo etc are all as should be BUT don't confuse it with the the visually similar USA version!
 13. A few I suppose (inevitable the amount I've owned)... though the greatest regret is one which holds a place in my heart as I gigged it for 15 years but seeing as how I owned an identical 'mint condition' bass I sold the more used one! Oddly I can't bring myself to gig the as new bass and I didn't realise until too late that the two basses weigh about 1 1/4lb difference.
 14.
If they are for sale you have to put a price. Forum rules.
He definitely seems to be asking to trade not sell, in which case no price required! However, I'd certainly agree that the OP's title does appear to indicate for sale (F/S).
 15.
Don't expect it to go for any £50 though.
Defo after posting it on a bass forum!
 16. PANTS! They didn't make Warwicks back in 63 and I'm not playing a Framus!
 17. Not used the cabs but I owned one of the top of the range 'Bass Art' amps and it was a STUNNING amp! Unfortunately it was only 300w @ 4 ohms and it struggled to sufficiently do my 6x10 2100w tech Soundsystems cab justice (it was just about peaking at every gig). In retrospect I wished I'd kept it and tried different cabs or slaved it to a power amp. I certainly wouldn't worry about the tag 'Hi-Fi' as the Glock I had was as full sounding as ANY amp I've tried. I would say however, that if you put sh1t into it then you'll get sh1t out but use a half decent bass (which I'm sure that you will) and it'll reward you. I believe that the 'Heart Rock' is meant to be on a par with the 'Bass Art' and if so it's one of the few amps that I'd chop my Thunderfunk in for... but then again I'd have to hear it first.

 19. Memory isn't what it used to be but... did you ever suss an accurate weight for the bass?
 20. I've owned a couple of these (and was watching to see if I could steal that one for £205 even though I seriously don't need it LOL), even bought one brand new back in 90/91 and they are in my top 5 (if not 3) fave amps. I have to say that I was chewing knuckles when I clocked the rig that just sold on BC... gone in under 5 mins and a serious bargain.
 21.
Erm, just the one and it's kinda old and not in very good nick. Can't imagine it'd be of any interest to anyone, but in the spirit of making up the numbers here we are -
Is that a pukka 72 or is it a Bravewood?
 22.
Link not working John
I'll try again Al... Nothing fancy just a rough and ready live performance doing what is needed for the song.
 23.
PRS, I'm sure it's lovely (and there's a fair few fans on here), but it's a little too boutique for my retro tastes John
Not trying to shamelessly plug the PRS in order for you to buy it Chris but it honestly is the least boutique 'Boutique' bass I've played! It really does have that (dare I say it) Old School feel and of the tones that you said that you wanted, they are all in the PRS (pups and preamp are cracking). IMHO the neck is defo more P/Ray than J and it is a million miles away from the Warwicks. If you are ever on a jolly up North be sure to give me a shout!
 24. Odd that my fave colour is burst yet I only have the one!
 25. That'll be my PRS that you want then!
