1. Lush bass mate. I've had a (cough) 'couple' over the years and the earlier basses tended to be lush bits of timber.
 2.
How many of these threads have you reported ? Using this function will alert moderators to any offending posts.
Not being funny but does that mean that Mods want members to grass up any offending threads? Sorry if 'grass up' seems a bit melodramatic! To do this is there a button to hit to report those members flogging their eBay items and is that really what you want members doing?
 3.
If you can wait till Saturday for the money I'll take this.
That's one serious amount of bass acquisition you've gone through lately!
 4.
Yippee, has he bought it yet ???????????/
No and why haven't you sold me Rita back! I'll give you a bit more than £599
 5.
I think WH may finally have found his Sterling. Still my #1 gigging bass of choice.
Still available... and still looking!
 6. As well as the band there'll be a Disco and various prize winning draws and raffles; your £3 entry fee gets you a free entry into a prize draw. All proceeds to go to Cleaswell Hill Special School (band, disco etc. all preforming gratis). If you are local to the area, why not get out and see a live band knowing that you are also supporting a local Special School. An idea of the sort of stuff we do (set lists from last nights gig)... SET 1 ROUGH AROUND THE EDGES SHE LOVES MY AUTOMOBILE BRILLIANT DISGUISE BACK TO YOU SATURDAY NIGHT ALABAMA DONT GO TAKE IT EASY PINK HOUSES ALREADY GONE FIRE DOWN BELOW THAT SMELL SET 2 WHATS YOUR NAME LISTEN TO THE MUSIC ITS SO HARD MONA LISA SMILED DEAD FLOWERS GIMME 3 STEPS THEY CALL ME THE BREEZE HUNGRY HEART FEVER AINT GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU SELL ALOT OF BEER TUSH PINK CADILLAC
 7. Cracking gig last night and despite doom and gloom from the landlord, there was a reasonable turnout; hopefully back there very soon as it was an appreciative audience.
 8.
others will probs give you a more defined answer, but the basses Crafted in Japan (CIJ) were made almost exclusively for the Japanese market and considered to be better quality than those Made in Japan (MIJ) which, although still excellent machines, were made for export.

I was under the impression that the change was due to a different factory being given the task of producing them. Seem to remember it changed about mid-nineties.
... and I was under the impression that the CIJ/MIJ was simply a change in title made in a particular year; in other words (and I may have this the wrong way round) you will never see a CIJ after a given year (say 95 for convenience), likewise you'll not find a MIJ pre this same date!
 9.
Use Fedex, certain days are cheaper than others. Best to get it collected on a Friday for delivery on a Tuesday. I've bought two Acme cabs from the US in the last four months, one a weighty B2 and recently a B1, I paid about $150 for the B2, and $120 for the B1. Another good thing about Fedex is they bill you later for the import duty and VAT.
Tried what you suggested and Fed-Ex were $600!
 10.
Just did a quick quote on Interparcel - FedEx was £254 + vat.
That'll be about $370... not great and at those sorts of prices I'm not far off the cost of a new Sterling especially when you add the taxes etc!
 11.
35"
Longer than 34"... surely that's a Double Bass!
 12.
Indeed. Now then have you got a nice 5 string $$ you want to sell for £250?
5 string... that's like a 4 string with a 34" thumb rest isn't it?
 13.

Different DW!
 14.
before you decide on ups http://www.tdpri.com/forum/telecaster-disc...aim-denied.html
UPS and USPS are very different but I'm reading that now!
 15.
The guitars & basses I've had shipped from the states I've had sent by USPS & I've had no trouble at all. Very reasonable prices & very quick too - my Hamer 12 string bass was in my hands 48 hours after buying it!
I'm double checking on the USPS option. Did you get full insurance cover?
Maybe the problem is that you're buying privately and there's some sort of retail pricing involved. Obviously I'd bought from a shop so I'd guess that they have some sort of turnover deal going on with the couriers.
You may be right!
 16. Your repairer; Dave 'DW'... is it Dave Wilson? http://www.dwilsonguitars.com/ If it is then £100 for him to do the work is very cheap and that isn't a slight on him, it's intended as praise; Dave's work is top notch and I can't imagine how he'll do it that cheap!
 17.
It cost me $120 to send a boat anchor Precision Elite in a boat anchor hard case from the US to home via USPS (not UPS) in 2004. Have prices really gone up that much??
Seems USPS won't insure for the full value!
I bought a bass from Bass Central and it cost me $250 to France via UPS, fully insured, for the full value. Took about 5 days. Obviously there was duty and TVA on top when it got here.
Quote from the seller; "Cheapest of the three is $437.53, that's UPS."
 18.
hmmmm, what you buying..??
No great secret that I've been after a Sterling!
 19. I have my eye on a bass over on TB but the guy has received 3 shipping quotes and the cheapest (to send it in the case which I prefer) is $450... anybody got experience of who to use that is reasonable, as last time I shipped it was UPS but they want $500+
 20. Should be quite snug with a 6 piece in this bar but we'll try and leave room for a few punters! 21.
You never did reply and tell me how big it was in the flesh
Don't be silly, you remember, I sent you that picture... the one you thought was the Asian elephants trunk!
 22. I don't mind the fact that I've had loads of PMs with people asking masses of questions... and I haven't even had a bass up for sale! To be fair I do regularly get asked for advice regarding Warwicks and I've absolutely no problem trying to help folk out; it's what this forum is for. So I'd like to think when I ask questions about a bass (mainly the weight) that folks will do the decent thing and respond positively, which to be honest most do!

 24.
Great! I think I may get myself one. It's good to hear a review from a rocker - so often I read about a cab and it gets praised only for the guy to turn out to be a slap player after a totally different sound. Gonna get one to go with my Ashdown head - should be awesome ! BTW I'm nowhere near Colchester mate - I'm Newcastle area. Way aye !
If you want to hear what the Aggie tone is like, I'm about 12 miles from Newcastle and gigging with the pair of DB12's this weekend in Hexham!
