1.
it wont now that you have posted a link here to it! Its not got me yet, but this section of the forum must really frustrate a lot of people...
That's a long running debate and my views have upset one or two folk in the past!
 2.
Co. Meath, Ireland
That's a tall order! However, it might be worth resoldering the speaker jack. I've known leads that have had solid looking solder but the contact/connection has been poor and this has affected the signal... just to clear one point; you have established that it isn't a duff guitar lead i.e. the lead that you've used has been the same one used when testing the amp and speaker separately.
 3.
Yeah, here we go: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?s=&sho...st&p=968872
Cheers mate. I've just texted him... fingers crossed.
 4. This may seem like an odd ask but if anyone knows of a broken piano I'd love a couple of the black ebony keys off it; needed to make myself a nice long thumb rest for a bass. Obviously plastic keys off a Casio are no good.
 5.
Thanks mate. I was always wondering. There's often some great looking Warwicks on here for good money and I'm always tempted but I didn't want to get one and hate it and have to sell it again.
Buy a used one on here and you'd have to be damned unlucky to not be able to resell it for what you paid... buy a new one and you may as well get someone to kick you as hard as they can in the 'nads because it will hurt you.
 6.
Anyone got any thoughts on Rockbass? Are they any good? I really want a Warwick, but as many people say they're a bit marmite! Is a Rockbass a good idea to cut ones teeth with?
The Rockbass range are nice enough basses 'at that price point' but you can't make any direct comparison between one of those and the German made thru-neck basses, so are you cutting your teeth on a lower price Warwick and preparing yourself for the top of the range models? Probably not! However that's just my opinion. If you are in the market to buy a £300 bass then I'd definitely try one next to say a similarly priced Ibanez, Squier, Washburn, Spector etc. but going from that to one of the expensive Warwick basses is a marked difference... and for the sake of stopping any potential flame-war, I'll stress that again: playing a £300 Rockbass will feel a lot 'different' than a top of the range NT bass NOT 'better' or £XXXX superior; just different.
 7. I've played Warwicks for 20 odd years and despite dabbling with a multitude of other basses I always come back to Warwick; in particular the NT Streamers (the earlier the better)... my Corvette/Infinette comes a close 2nd. A couple of recent GAS purchases have reinforced that I'm sticking to my Warwick (i.e. they are up for sale), though I'll still admire other basses.
 8. Generally DR Sunbeams but I'm really liking a set of Pyramid Gold flats that I have on my main bass.
 9.
Big screwdriver mate, and as always, steady as she goes with a truss rod, a quarter turn can make a big difference.
+1 I'd also put a pencil mark/line on the head and wood of the bass so that you can see where you started from... stops you going too crazy and gives you a reference point to go back to if it doesn't feel right afterwards.
 10.
I'd sell all the "Big Rig" & the Tecamp cab & just get the one rig sorted for all situations. That way you practice with the same sound as you play live with.
What he said ^ Saying that I have a pair of Aguilar DB12's and despite thinking that I can use one for rehearsals and two for gigs, I always end up using both cabs ALL of the time... practice, big gigs, little gigs, anytime!
 11.
Well, to me, that one looks out on the B string just as the teal looked out on the G string
+1 The angle the photograph was taken at is off or the B & E strings are out of kilter!
 12. Simply an observation... If someone uses the BIN on eBay and pays with paypal you do realise that @ £950 you are not going to get back the £900 you have it listed for on here. Even worse; if there is a maiden bid @ £900 in the last seconds of the eBay auction then you are going to get a damn sight less than your £900. Like I said... just an observation!
 13.
... its nice a light and balances really well..
Exactly how light?
 14.
or could this be the reason why I haven't been able to contact the bc seller since it's be sent?
Is the BCer an established member? I'm not about to do any detective work to find the cab or its seller but I'd have thought an established member would want to help you resolve the matter. Probably not worth naming and shaming right now as there may well be a genuine reason they haven't responded to your efforts to contact them but a mashed tweeter with no damage to the cab structure or grill sounds odd!
 15. How has DHL managed to destroy a tweeter? I'd have thought that they'd have had to wreck half the cab to achieve that. re. who uses them - I have a pair of DBs; one with tweeter one without and I'd not be distraught if I had a pair of cabs sans tweeter. I could be wrong but I'm sure that I read somewhere that the full range signal goes through the bass driver in the DB12 cabs so I don't 'think' that it will be filtering the top end; however, if it is then you may well lose a bit of top end if the tweeter is kapput... if you are into that kind of thing.
 16. Not particularly impressed! ... because I'm soaking wet after falling over with laughter from picking this cab up from WoT's place. I knew these were light and Alex has trimmed the weight with various improvements BUT I was genuinely shocked when I picked it up. I can even forgive the fact that it doesn't have side handles to make carrying through doorways easier; mainly because I can hold it out at arms length and shoulder height to walk through. Looking forward to trying it with the band later.
 17. That's some USA tour you have coming up!
 18. It's blue... you've just halved its value right there! If he's putting it up for sale on here I'd suggest finding the nearest comparable bass that has sold on eBay or Basschat recently and then sticking on £100; that gives room to drop the price if it doesn't get snapped up. Alternatively he could put it up for what he paid for it, even if that means he has to later reduce his price... if he gets swamped with buyers he can do what others have done and pull the sale then advertise it for more. I would imagine that if they can't give an accurate idea over on a Status dedicated site you'll struggle to get a better idea here because it'll all be guess work and supposition.
 19. ... or is it just me? Keeps coming up with an error!
 20. Watched it and thoroughly enjoyed. He's had that bass for yonks; IIRC it's a Warmoth 'Bitsa' Precision bodied bass with x2 EMG P pups (the earliest type) and the neck has an ebony board, fretted with skinny mandolin wire.
 21.
Very scarey story john it wasnt red by any chance
Worse, it was my rare Warwick 5th Anniversary Streamer bass!
 22.
PM warwickhunt as he'll probably know or be able to ask someone on the warwick forum who'll know Absolutely gorgeous bass by the way. One of the nicest Infinity's i've ever seen
You rang? I know of a fellow BCer who picked an Infinity 5 up last year for about £1000-£1200 but it needed a little TLC (not a massive amount) and I thought that was pretty cheap. However, Warwick used prices are never great and though they may retail for £3400+ new, you'd be pushing it to get £1500 if it were immaculate. Saying that, I have the 4 string Ltd Ed from 91 that was the fore-runner to this and I'll not sell it for even the price of a new one.
 23. The straps look almost identical to the Sadowsky straps... in fact they are identical! https://secure.sadowsky.com/store/popup_ima...7d2fa48196d109f Patently made at the same factory and then branded for the manufacturer; I have one of the Sado ones and it is a great strap but the short is very short on a Fender style bass.
 24.
So if you wanna get your amp in to a rack case, save yaself the ridiculous TC RRP for the kit and grab something similar!
I've still got 3 for sale at a fiver each! http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=104231
 25. My Bolin has piezo and magnetic pups and they can be used to either add a bit of top end 'air' to a sound (can't think of a better definition for opening up the sound), or if used solo they have their own unique tone and shine when used as accompaniment to acoustic/electro-acoustic instruments.
