1.
Oh oh, not that one again......................
Is there an output difference between 2 and 3 band? I'm not fussed about which one is better/worse but wouldn't have thought there'd have been a significant difference in output though!
 2.
My 'ray has a pretty low output for an active pre-amp bass. Mind you, if you max out the bass it distorts in a rather ugly fashion. The 3-band eq is very sensitive on my ray.
All of the Rays that I've had experience of have all had pretty healthy outputs! Hmmm I wonder if this is down to the difference between 2/3 band EQs?
 3.
If im right this is the same one thats on Glasgow Gumtree. If so the seller is looking for £549 although as the other have said a price needs to be stated or mods will pull it. Although id recommend the seller look at how much GAK is selling them for as most people would probably pay the small amount more to grab a brand new one.
Well spotted and a fair assumption as the wording is similar and the pic is identical!
 4. Know 'of' the Carvin amps but having only ever played though one of their amps (cyclops combo iirc) I wouldn't deem that a fair opportunity to pass judgement. As you say the LH500 gets very good reviews and I've not heard bad reports so if you have an affinity/loyalty to the brand I'd say for the money your not likely to get better. However... it isn't a lightweight amp in the sense that some of the latest digital/switching amps are lightweight!
 5.
What are 4x10's usually like for size? I don't mind if theyre heavy but I'm gonna need to fit them in my boot. I drive a VW Passat.
The old Trace 4x10's are chuffin MASSIVE and you'd struggle to get one into an estate car (well... almost ), whereas some modern 4x10's are literally 'just' big enough to fit the speakers on the front baffle board (22"x22") so you'd need to try before you buy and don't be fooled into getting the basic dimensions because sometimes the laws of physics don't work when you try to fit gear into your car!
 6.
I thought the LG1000 only had 1 output per channel?
Daisy chain the cabs off each other 'IF' you want to drive x4 8ohm cabs!
 7. I've only just realised that your 'Fender' Jazz avatar isn't!
 8.
Why have you removed your head from that picture WH?
Cos it's stuck up my backside... so people say!
 9.
I was looking for photos of lasses with geet big knockers.
Speaking of big knockers...
 10.
I once turned an old 4x12 guitar cab into a ferret hutch... now that's R&R!

Wow, what a lucky escape!
Nah, the ferrets quite liked it!
 11. Sorry I got the wrong end of the stick with regard to 'preamp'. I thought you meant a rackmount external jobbie. Fitting a preamp isn't a huge job so long as you have comprehensive instructions it can be a relatively straightforward DIY job but if your soldering skills are below par or you've not done anything like it before then tbh £25 isn't a bad price for the job. It's actually probably 30 min job if you know what you are doing but most places would charge you an hours rate which would be about the £25 mark.
 12.
Just got myself a new pre amp for my Warwick. I've been quoted £25 from my local music shop to fit it. I have no idea whether this is a good price or a terrible price... Some opinions would be good Not too sure if this is the right section...
Can you clarify what they are actually going to fit and into what, with what (i.e. power amp etc)! If it's a pre into a rack with a poweramp then I reckon a 'local' regular on here with a bit of nouse could do it for you for nowt... I would if you live my way!
 13. I once turned an old 4x12 guitar cab into a ferret hutch... now that's R&R!
 14. I heard he was so hard up not so long back that he was living on meal hand-outs from mates; unfortunately most of his mates are in the armed forces so he ended up eatin' rifles...
 15. Ooops missed the bit about cost; £100/£150 - £3000+... you pays your money you takes your choice!
 16. If you use the search facility there are loads of past threads on this very subject but imho (dependent upon line-up and type of amp used by other members) 250+w is a good workable size.
 17. What mods have you done to it?
 18.
Just a note to say this is on hold pending a trade on sunday.
Do tell!
 19.
Even after the LED work and having it chromed i bet it still came out much cheaper than a warwick streamer CT, which I imagine is what inspired him to do it
Absolutely... well maybe! However, the CT Streamer will retain a reasonable amount of its value whereas a Spector Legend with LEDs and an after-market paint job is still just a Spector Legend. Do you see where I'm coming from and I'm not trying to compare Warwick with Spector just the reality check that 'sometimes' what you do to a bass after you buy it can have little impact on its later value.
 20. Hats off to GuitarGuitar; ordered mine yesterday lunchtime and the delivery driver called me today to say he was at my place trying to deliver, did I want these leaving somewhere or with a neighbour etc! Nice touch to see that it comes supplied with a battery.
 21.
Yes siree, Twas me!!!!
Nice one Neil. I was in communication with the guy trying to ascertain the weight of the bass but you obviously nipped in before he got that sorted. Just out of interest, when you get it would you mind sussing the weight as I'm trying to get a reference for what these CV P basses weigh.
 22. I'm not knocking Spector or that bass but the owner must have been off his t*ts when he decided to have that done! Each to his own I know but for what he must have paid to have it chromed and LED'd, the cost of the work on what is essentially a mid-level bass will never get recouped.
 23.
Is this a different Moon from the Jimmy Moon of Glasgow fame produced stuff?
Yeh, different Moon; these are Japanese iirc.
