1.
I'll put it on the scale when i get home and report.

I've just weighed mine on the bathroom scales it is comes out at 8.8lbs, so it's about that.
Cheers lads.
 2. Can I ask a favour? Those folks who own one of these CV P basses; what is the weight of your bass? I know that they are going to be somewhere between 8 - 10lb but I wondered what the actual 'average' weight was coming in at. Likely going to have to buy one blind so it gives an indication as to what to expect. Cheers
 3. Good spot. That's a good saving on new so won't last long!
 4. Nah that's either one for the JC boys or it's a custom build as it seems to have elements of a few basses! HOWEVER... thanks for the heads up on the JB Trio as that is new music to me and I enjoyed that. Cheers!
 5.
This eBay sale for a P bass make me smile (description and answers that is) How not to sell your bass... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT
Q: Hi, would you accept £1020 now and i'll drive over to you tomorrow morning to play and give cash? i live in portsmouth ....and is it the origanal case, do you have neck, pot, dody dates etc first! best regards stu 14-Apr-10 A: Stu, I wish you a long, happy and healthy life but no, no no, no! I would rather stick me knob in a mincer than let it go for that! Seeing as how it didn't sell at £1000, I bet he wishes he'd lobbed his bits in the mincer!
 6.
Ooops it would seem I've not linked that particular photo through! That's a job for the morning! Yeah according to my watch list there's quite a lot of interest on the bay, I'm in reality giving the bloody thing away but needs must and I have to buy a 5 string!! Got my eyes on a super jazz or Dingwall combustion! Hope the bass goes to a good home though I really do!
If the gravest of your worries is a 'good home' there's always room at Chateau Hunt! I wouldn't worry, one of our Euro cousins will take advantage of the depleted £.
 7. The times they are a changing... FB being openly discussed on BC, what next... politicians having an open debate on TV?
 8. This looks pretty cheap to me, so is this a sign of the times for MB? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT
 9.
Just to quickly say before bed the bass is now on eBay if someone wants to swoop lower than £950? Link is here http://wap.ebay.co.uk/Pages/ViewItem.aspx?...201&emvcc=0 Cheers!
What "...pic of the bass on its side"? One of our Euro cousins will most likely snap this up.
 10.
DR Sunbeams...are they nice and flexible? I dont like really tense strings. If they are pretty 'average' tension they might work for me.
They are certainly not heavy going, I'd say they are at least 'average' tension if not less; actually quite close to...
Thomastic Jazz Rounds. HOW MUCH?!?!?!?! but I have had a set on for 3 years now and they still give up their mellow goodness.
My second favourite nickel string is the Thomastik 'Alloys', they were very reasonably priced from Thomann when the £ v Euro was stronger but bordering on silly money at the minute.
 11. Hmmm that I can live with but it's one thing to get the wrong member of the family who inspired this Lakland (after all Jason is a renowned bassist in his own right) BUT... to spell the name Warwick, 'Warrick' now that is unforgivable! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Stunning-Lakland-Jas...=item3cac0ba064
 12.
Good call, it must be a magical thing to see a Boss tuner die after all those years. It needs to go in a box and be kept
Well I haven't thrown it away yet.
Shot himself in the foot saying 'squire' in listing
Now if he'd said 'Squier' he'd really be up the creek!
 14.
sh*t.. I like MM's well enough, but there is only one look that would make me want to buy. And this one is it. That's the *perfect* Music man for my taste mate! Lovely! Good luck with the trade...
Would you believe it of the guy who had a house full of Warwicks... I've essentially got two left and a fretless Streamer for sale!
 15.
It's a great tuner and a very clever bit of kit but it is going to take something incredible to stop me from using a TU-2
My Boss tuner dying after 20+ years is what prompted me!
 16. Just done a couple of deals with 'the Groom' and all things were good... VERY tolerant fiancée considering he swung by my place after visiting his best man one evening! Cheers Alex and have a long and happy marriage.
 17. Well mine should be with me tomorrow!
 18. Cheers WD, I actually contacted that guy prior to pulling the trigger on the Ray! I asked him about his shipping charges and could they be reappraised... and he managed to get the shipping down to $450.
 19. Not mine or anything to do with me but I saw this on the GG website (Newcastle) and thought that it 'might' be of interest to someone looking for a USA Jazz 5 string... however I've no idea if £750 is a good/bad price for such a bass so here it is anyway! 20.
Spotted the error - he describes it in the text as a "base" Damn, I'm good
and that case is non-standard Ric!
 21. Has anyone seen the Sterling version of this for sale anywhere?
 22. I've owned a couple of valve amps and other than the early (70's) unreliability, I personally thought my Mesa Boogie valve amp could have cut glass! There's a lot to be said for valve amps but personally I'm just as happy with a modern SS amp.
 23. Been there and don't pop it. Has Sarah enough experience/technique to use a pick? If so, go for that route.
 24.
Good analogy of 'Varooom' Steve Love a bit of varooom myself. Seem to remember John Taylor also being an exponent of this technique back in the day. Not enough varooom in today's music, definitely due a comeback.
NAH! JT was more of a Vrooom-room player.
