Just why is blues so important when learning bass?
Please don't think I'm being rude, but the Camel, any particular reason or just fancied a change.
Maybe he's got 'the hump'! Coat... getting. -
Hey mate - pm your email and I'll send info required and pics. (thru neck btw) Thanks S.

Btw, think there was one going on the bay. About 1850 if I recall.
Sorry are you saying that your Warwick is a thru neck? Also do you have a link for the £1850 ebay bass!
Assuming it's happy to run at 8 ohms as well, couldn't you wire up two series pairs of 8-ohm cabs in parallel (in other words, wire two cabs in series and another two cabs in series, and run those two pairs in parallel with each other)? That'd give you 8 ohms over four cabs. I have no idea how this could be achieved with real-world cabs, but that's how you can make (for example) a 16-ohm 4x12 guitar cab with four 16-ohm speakers.
I hear what you are saying and with the right custom leads/wiring that could be achieved so that the TF550 could run x4 DB112's @ approx 380watts. However in the real world I'll likely never need more than two DB112's (which as a 4 ohm load I've never run at more than 12 o'clock on the master volume)... OK on the odd occasion maybe x3 DB112's just to show off
The Gallery are listing the Daphne blue one as Vintage but it looks very similar to my Update! N.B. Is this the same ex Me'Shell bass mentioned in the Celinder factory tour? I've seen some Celinders with an additional flick switch - what does this do? Again, I spotted this on the Me'Shell bass.
It might be worth contacting Dave 'eubassix' re. the Meshell bass (or Celinders in general) as he owned it and iirc he was having it restored to original. Other than that... nice to see you buying proper basses again (i.e. with the correct number of strings ).
The 750 is supposed to sound bigger and better, with a fuller, punchier and more authoritative tone.
If that's true then it's downright scary how good that would sound!
BTW, how would that work in terms of impedance?
Unfortunately that's where the idea of me already owning my ultimate rig 'fails'! The TF 550 can only run @ 4 ohms (hence I run a pair of DB112's) so I'd need to replace the 550 with the TF750 (which does 2 ohms) BUT I've no idea if the 750 would sound just like a louder 550! I've heard that if you aren't pushing the 550 to silly levels then you can run 3 x 8 ohm cabs off the 550 (though Dave Funk doesn't personally validate that option), you just have to watch out for it getting hot... but then I'm not prepared to transport any more than 2 cabs; especially when I carry 50% of the bands PA in my car. Ultimate rigs require ultimate transport!

Nowt to do with me but if you are a dab hand with a soldering iron or don't want the valve preamp tone this appears to be a fair bit of kit for not a lot of money! Money and transport no object... I'd have a Thunderfunk and a stack of four vertically aligned DB112's.

I assume Alex has good reason for doing what he has done however it may be a shortsighted way of saving himself time as the whole issue of the Barefaced cabs that are on tour will become a logistical nightmare to correlate. At least when the threads were open, it was possible for BCers to discuss where/when it was moving! Just making an observation as it makes no difference to me.

Who knows something about this? Some plots, images etc.
A 1x12" speaker cab for rock?
I agree that a 'single' cab is going to struggle but certainly a pair are a viable option... I manage very nicely, thank you!

+1 for the DB112. I'm not just saying that because I own a pair, I genuinely believe that it is 'probably' the best cab(s) to fit your needs. Though I would add that a pair make a lot more sense than just one... they are better as a pair than the sum of their parts.
Any kind of Warwick Streamer - I just love the body shape.

That'll be the classic 'Spector' shape then For me... it's a white Spector NS-2 all the way!!
The earlier Streamers were like a 'toned' Spector (think Beach Volley Ball 'Babe' as opposed to Pamela Anderson... sexist? Nah; just an observation! ) but I have to confess that Spector always had the upper hand with fancy tops and colours... so an early sculpted Streamer but with one of the lush Spector Quilted Maple tops in see-thru Cherry/Lemon/Sunburst would be my ultimate!

Not sure if you were just commenting or genuinely interested in that particular bass but just in case you weren't aware I'll take the opportunity to point out that you need to factor in the various import taxes if you are thinking of buying that bass! You may already know all about it but you'd be amazed how many folks it catches out.
