1. By crikey moses, stuff doesn't stay on page one for long!
2.
Thanks for the advice.
Your English is improving!
3.
*grabs popcorn* Shockwave?

What questions to ask. Asked not criticism.
People have the right to be cautious and ask appropriate questions of a seller; especially someone who registers on a forum and immediately attempts to sell an expensive item. The fact that the OP's details of the item is, to say the least, 'limited' and that English appears to be the second language, from past experience, these are indicators of a 'potential' scam. If a seller's responses to questions via PM are equally shonky, why shouldn't people post the replies to make others aware of a potential scam. You'd have to be a right FW to imagine that when dealing with online purchases from private individuals the term, 'innocent till proven guilty' applies. Forums are littered with tales of people trying to bag bargains and letting their heart rule their head; there is at least one active case at the minute on the Warwick forum where someone didn't follow the basic rules and the person selling said item has then tried to do it on this forum as well! IF this seller is genuine then he needs to get a few more details up and tbh if he's from the Far East/Thailand he's gonna need to find a very trusting first trading partner! <edited for spelling; that's my CDO coming through... OCD is so untidy! >
4.
I cannot say for or against this sale being dodgy, however I can say the seller is not posting from a UK registered IP. My advice: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caveat_emptor
Is it possible to cross reference the IP address with a recent user also selling a 'suspect' bass that was flagged up here and on the Warwick forum? Failing that is it possible for the Admin's to liaise with Florin over on the Warwick forum to give him the heads up on the IP address; firstly to see if it matches a recent 'possible' transgression or to see if it matches with any IP's registered on the Warwick forum... all in the name of e-safety and 'bass-love'. If the user(s) in question are genuine then surely they would actively encourage/support validation of their integrity!
5.
Are you having a mass clearout ?
It comes around with startling regularity when you are as fickle as me. In all honesty though, I've got a couple of basses that I'd never sell (until recently my Warwick Ltd Ed was one of those but the weight means I'll never gig it... dodgy shoulder) and other basses will come and go as the mood suits.
6. This 'may' be of interest... http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=71183 Even if you left the Jazz pup turned off (the volume control is ideal for that ) the Nordstrand on it's own sounds fab.
7. Selling to make way for an incoming bass. Not sure of the age but I'll check the serial number against the Zon record and update. I'm almost certain it doesn't have a truss rod (though I am aware that some have the rod and that you have to remove the neck to get at the adjuster... don't fancy doing that at this point). As you may well be aware the Zon graphite necks are set-up to not require tweaking and this one is spot on with a nice low action with no noticeable fret wear. The neck is very slim and shallow and lives up to the advertising claim to be the 'Jazz bass for the 90's'. It has Bartolini pups and a retro-fitted Bartolini pre. The bass is in very good condition with one small ding through to the wood and a little chip in the headstock but no nasty bucklerash etc. Controls are Vol Pan and stacked bass/treble. I've just had the jack socket replaced as it had an intermittent drop out when the jack plug/lead moved about, all now good. Any questions just PM me and I'll get back to you pretty sharpish.
8. GONE I've basically decided that not only do I prefer light basses (this is 9lb and balances perfect) but I also want reduced body size basses (though not cricket bat ones ). I'd be interested in a Sterling or other basses of similar quality, must be small bodied bass and no more than 9lb in weight.
9. One for the Japcrap experts... http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...mp;#entry689708
10. Try asking here... http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=7473
11. Which one of my basses... Oh sorry, just realised any one of them is worth more than my Y reg Focus Est!
12.
I liked the Sterling I had, it was very bright, punchy and aggressive - the neck was sublime and had a Jazz profile. It hung well in the mix and smelt of toffee (no kidding).
That bass really did smell of vanilla/toffee didn't it!
I came across Ed Friedland's (and that German guy who i cant understand and the Italian guy who had way too much low end but a nice jacket) video reviews of the Sterling by MM SB14 and SR34 and i must say, im impressed with the tone, more so the SB14 than the SR4 I think this may well be what im looking for. Although Ed reviewed both together i thought the SB14 sounded better and has more variation in tone. Also i believe it has a more Jazz like neck as opposed to the SR4 having a more P like one.
I'm glad you're going to actually go out and try these basses as it's a HUGE mistake to listen to someone else play them and imagine that's how they'd sound in your 'hands' (as that's where the main difference can lie). I've known people play my basses, through my gear, and still manage to get a completely different sound to the one that I get! Though I accept if you are listening to someone do an A/B between two basses then at least you can hear a difference between the two.
13.
So what does it all mean? How can I judge which amps and cabs will suit me? Do I simply pay as much as I can afford? Or do I spend the rest of my allotted three score years and ten trying out amp/cab combinations to the point of madness? A labour of love maybe, but I generally don't like music shops! Dammit - I'm not even sure which size of speakers I prefer! 8, 10, 12, 15 or 18 or any feasible combination of them...
Been there, done that and have in fact got the Basschat T-Shirt (honest)! It's not as if you have to go to shops and buy all the latest gear, then find it doesn't suit you (after which you take a massive resale depreciation)... simply buy from trusted Basschat members who have gone through or are going through the same minefield. There are years of fun trying to find what suits you, at not a huge depreciation in value!
14. Now if you had the matching SD Jazz pup to go with this we'd be talking... you don't do you?
15. In an 'ideal world', a bit more than you've just paid for it (so you should know that figure) BUT in the real world a bit less than you've just paid for it!
16. The other thread on this bass got me looking at the bass again... is it just me or is it a bit 'too' red and shiny for a Fender/Squier colour (and I assume that it is a white scratchplate painted that metallic colour)?
17. It appears that the guy with the silver sparkle bass has taken your advice... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...=STRK:MEWAX:VRI
18. Ooooh I have a James Trussart gig bag available... at that price I wonder if I can do a deal with the seller?
19.
warwick streamer std passive bass in wine red colour couple dings nothing major plays really nice want some new gear so has to go £350 open to offers and swaps alot of bass for the money showed as much detail of the dent on the horn as i could get with the camera any questions mail me
TBH mate if you are wanting 'that' kind of money for your bass you are really going to have to at least spell it correctly in the thread title!
20. Should the pup lugs be showing from underneath the bridge cover on a 70's Jazz (assuming it is fitted correctly and it looks pretty far back)... I'm no expert (and I'm always up for some education) but shouldn't the whole rear pup be under the cover; coincidentally, when did the rear pup get moved back even further in the 70's? Just asking!
21. So it's a 90's Squier... pretty sure I'd rather shell out a smidgen more and get one of the 'new' Squier basses!
22. I'll add my name to the growing list of those not convinced by neo loaded cabs (whether that be because of the driver/design/cab material). After several years in the wilderness trialling neo equipped EBS 2x12's, Tech Soundsystems 2x10/1x15/6x10/2x12 (the last one being the Tecamp Puma combo) I converted/reverted to the Aguilar DB12's... I came home; Ah bliss!
23.
I'm looking forward the the MB Fusion, though I expect it won't come cheap.
Soundslive appear to have one in stock @ £760.
