[quote name='Moos3h' post='670159' date='Nov 30 2009, 04:57 PM']I'm thinking (feel free to tell me I'm on crack) that it's going to hopefully fetch about £225 ish given the hard case too. Cheers, James[/quote] Offering a constructive view on this... I do have to say that if a 'new' bass is £250 in the shops, chances of getting £225 are slim (not saying impossible), regardless of the case, which many people would expect to get if they were having it couriered. I've been known to be wrong in the past and I'd like nothing better than for you to get the price you want but as an indicator, I sold the Jazz CV version of this with a pair of full active EMGs installed, for £200; admittedly in a good gigbag not a case! Not that it matters as the bass will make what the bass makes and it'll find its own value.

Putting aside what they actually do (or claim to do), I've used them in the past and they can make a dramatic improvement to the tone of certain set-ups BUT if you have a top quality rig then the BBE makes less sense. I'm not being elitist or dismissing the Sonic Maximiser, as I rate them very highly (I presently use a BBE acoustic preamp with SM circuit for my acoustic guitar and it makes a world of difference). 'Lazy EQ'... maybe, but what's wrong with that if it does the job?

NORTH EAST BASS BASH - NOVEMBER 2009 - PICS & VIDEO ADDED!
warwickhunt replied to wateroftyne's topic in Events
Sorry to hear about your [s]stupidity[/s] accident I hope it isn't too costly! No worries re. the Hellborg pre, I fully understand. I'll organise to collect in the next day or two as I have gigs coming up and a bit of recording mid-week. I assume from the video clip that Howie is angling for double wages with his band... percussion AND bass! -

Can anyone attending the Bash who fancies a trial of the Warwick Hellborg Preamp please do so. The only thing I'd ask is that you right a brief, honest, comment on your thoughts (I've given WoT an A4 Notebook to jot them down in). I'm not expecting a magazine style review, just a few brief words and if possible a short summary of what you presently use/style of music or whatever! Enjoy the bash one and all. -
tbh you've found the 1000w version of the Superfly NEW @ £229... that's a pretty good deal for a new 1000w amp (regardless of the fact that it is 500w per channel into 4 ohms). The fact you can take it back for a full refund if it suffers from the dreaded Ashdown 'kettle hum' noise is a major bonus!

[quote name='thebuckets' post='668524' date='Nov 28 2009, 05:42 PM']Hello I have a 2008 USa P Bass (new type HMV bridge, lighter tuners, better case Etc, Etc) in 3 TS with RW neck and am interested in a possible trade/swap for a us JAZZ (prefer stack knob 62 reissue, but would consider others) looking for 3TS and RW again-gotta love the classic look! Not taken any photos yet but it is mint only used at home as a second bass to my stingray which is my main gigging workhorse. always had a p bass and am getting drawn to a jazz (hope i dont regret it!) pretty much as new without the pickguard foil some light marks to the pick guard that a few hours of home play would accrue (hey just being totally honest) photos soon or via email if interested (new to the forum so not sure how to post pics but will try ASAP) cheers Bri[/quote] Welcome to the forum Bri. You'll have a lot more/better response if you can get some images up (photobucket or similar and use the img tag option).

Courier points system and courier issues

AAAAARGH! F*CKIN INTERPARCEL... TW*TS! Booked a collection/delivery for my Sadowsky and took the option of an afternoon delivery (after 14:00) for which my wife took the afternoon off work... needless to say I was not impressed when I rang them at 17:00 to enquire if collections were running OK to be told that they'd tried at 11:00 this morning! Regardless of the fact that I selected an after 14:00 collection (and it is printed as such in black and white on my invoice), it seems this is just a 'guideline' and they can't guarantee! So WTF is the point of giving an option? TW*TS. As such I'll never use them again. -

The only way it could be worse is if there was another 0 on the end of the price (£700)!

Two Questions about my Aguilar Setup

[quote name='RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE' post='664385' date='Nov 24 2009, 09:42 PM']Cheers for the quick reply Warwick Yeah, forgot about that. If I was the size of Ronnie Dio ,or even corbett castors would have been better. Think you're right about the trolley. A while back, a nice BC sent me a link to a good one. Then , my computer had problems making me lose everything..........[/quote] I had a link to this one on my thread [url="http://www.liftruck.co.uk/ruxxac-carts.html"]http://www.liftruck.co.uk/ruxxac-carts.html[/url] But the price...! -
Two Questions about my Aguilar Setup
warwickhunt replied to RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE's topic in Amps and Cabs
[quote name='RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE' post='664373' date='Nov 24 2009, 09:34 PM']A couple of things have been nagging me lately. (I don't have a wife) I was wondering ,regarding the DB112 Cabinet whether I could get some castors for it. If so, where? (Those narrow prison like spaces in practice rooms are getting to me) Regarding the Head, are those 'Head Cases' of any use? Can the amp breathe? If so, I would like to get a Tweed one. Please advise Cheers[/quote] Loads of places will supply casters BUT if you are fitting them to the base of the cab have you considered how far you would have to bend down to push it? I'm looking for a sack trolley to put mine onto. -

Soz, was the other thread not clear enough? [url="http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=67727&st=0&p=657367&#entry657367"]http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...mp;#entry657367[/url] "Can anyone tell me if I can connect a tecamp XS110 1x10 bass cab to a Tecamp combo 112. Its has a speaker out at the back of the combo so does that mean I can connect the two together and use as a complete unit." [b]Yes[/b] "I am also a bit confused regarding ohms!!" [b] So are loads of people[/b] "The manual says you are free to use either speaker output if you want to connect more than one speaker cabinet. Just make sure that the minimum load of each power amp is no less than 4 ohms. Thus you can connect two 8 ohms speakers or one 4 ohms speaker." [b]I'm fairly certain that you haven't quoted verbatim from the manual. Basically your Tecamp 112 combo will have one speakon speaker output on the rear, this can be connected to ANY 8 ohm cab NOT a 4 ohm cab (capitals used to save you an expensive experiment)! You can not connect a pair of 8 ohm cabs to the combo nor can you connect a 4 ohm cab.[/b] "Do I have the option of connecting a Phil Jones Suitcas extension cab to the combo." [b]Yes, you can connect a PJB extension cab to the Tecamp combo... so long as it is 8 ohms. [/b] "Would this work or would it sound rubbish..." [b]Yes it would work, as to whether it would sound any good is down to personal taste but it will increase the perceived volume and sound bigger/fuller.[/b]
