Ampeg B-15T Flip-Top Combo. SOLD .. SOLD.. !!
warwickhunt replied to eubassix's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
I had one of these very combos some years back though I could have sworn the driver was an EV. I bought it 'new' from an auction room when I'd gone to see about buying a coffee table... Mrs WH was well miffed at my choice of living room furniture; "but look it's flat on the top when you flip the amp down, you can stand a coffee cup on it easy!" As you say a lovely looking little thing and deserves to be snapped up. -
Well I've just bought a pre amp and negotiated into it a Boschma rack, and it looks great Not sure it's the right size for my power amp though...
What size is the rack you are getting and what size do you need? I only ask as I have a fairly old 4U SKB case (still solid and intact but well gigged) and I could have traded (cash your way) if your case suited my needs better.

Three cheers for Howard, The Bass Doc!
That walnut Jazz looks familiar.2x jazz + single jazz ? did it ever have a walnut neck ?I had one like that.
That one was a 'Satterley Special' built from scratch for me. It may well be that it passed through your hands after me (via Howard, as that's the way it went from me) but it didn't have a walnut neck at the time. -
Any views with anyone on how the M212 will handle a Shuttle 9.0?! Im mainly going to use the LM3, but Im thinking the Shuttle 9.0 might be on the cards soon to use with my 8 ohm cabs. Im thinking that 900W into a 600W cab might be pushing it. I wont actually be turning it up full....but you know what Im getting at.
tbh your ears should be hurting way before it starts making strange noises... which is prior to something going terminally wrong! If you're not sure I'll take it off your hands and you'll even make a profit.
O.K. - your backline rig is about 45 feet (c.15m.) cable distance from you on stage and you're NOT going into a front-of-house mixing desk. You've got some in-line effects between your bass & the amp's input and some additional stomp box effects within the effects loop - what would YOU do...? AM I mad in thinking that the only way to do this is to use non-phantom powered (probably, passive?) D.I. boxes and balanced (mic) cables to get to & from the amp?
Is the the scenario you mention a one off and exactly what is that set-up (orchestra/pit work/show/festival)? Surely you can't have many gigs where you are that far from your rig and not using PA/foldback support. On the rare occasion when I'm placed further away from my backline than I'd like, I just set-up the pedals off to the side and ensure I'm close enough to stomp when I need to.

The seller had this bass up for sale a short while back and advertised as a Stage I; wanting £1200 for it. I pointed out to him (diplomatically) that it was actually a BO neck Streamer NOT a SSI. Fair dues to the guy he revised his listing and advertised it for what it is. I've had it on my watched items list purely out of curiosity (I'm not going to bid on it) and it's sat at £200ish for a week until today when it's just jumped up to £700! There's either a dumb buyer out there or someone's about to try and pay him with a Nigerian cheque because I've watched a couple of PROPER Warwick NT basses sell in the last week for £600 - £680 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT
Great! ^_^ The bass is brand new and believe me it worths every penny. 2007 price: 5170 euros = 4630 pounds 2009 price: Almost 7000 euros = 6271 pounds For a few days offers around 3000 pounds + shipping? I think it's MORE than fair. Just a chance so I'm open to trades but not with that rebate price by now.
Hmmm Looking at your revised views on the value of the bass I'll not be testing your resolve to say YES or NO.
There is a very tempting bass for sale here in the classifieds so any of you prefer a straight sale make me a serious offer in cash and it's more than possible than I say YES.
That's always a tricky phrase to interpret "serious offer in cash"! I have cash and I can make you a serious offer but I think it may well be less than possible you will say YES! We'll see.

NORTH EAST BASS BASH - NOVEMBER 2009 - PICS & VIDEO ADDED!
warwickhunt replied to wateroftyne's topic in Events
PANTS! Just realised I have a gig on that Sunday afternoon... the only afternoon gig I've had this year! Unfortunately it's at The White Swan in Morpeth so no chance of doing a doubler and attending both. Sorry MB. -
Hi Guys When travelling to gigs I need to keeo my combo in the boot of my car. Is there any possibility of damaging the amp going over bumps etc?? Sorry if its a daft question Cheers Stuart
Valve amps can be susceptible to damage if thrown about in the boot of a car or van (especially if they aren't fully cooled down, post gig) but solid state amps are less prone and there's no reason why the Tecamp should be better/worse than others.

The old 'what amp should I get?' chestnut
warwickhunt replied to holio.cornolio's topic in Amps and Cabs
Cheers all for the input. So now I have on my must try list - Trace 715 thingy, Ampeg B200R, and possibly another ampeg (the 300 wat 2X10), I'm also slightly drawn to a biggish line 6 lodown, Roland Bass Cube 100 (?? - loud enough??) and maybe one of the slightly more upmarket fenders... cheers for all the suggestions, I'd likely go for that Trace that Warwickhunt suggested, but I have yet to liquidate the funds fully and will probably not for a few months yet (xmas drawing near and the kids need pressies etc!) So I'll keep on shoppin'. Bizarrely I had ruled out trace as too expensive, but just shows what I know. They're back in the game!!
A quick update. The combo is a 4x10 Series 6 GP12 1210. It's in good nick for its age and the vinyl covering is all intact. The only negative might be that most of the little plastic tips off the graphic have come off; not the end of the world and I reckon easily replaced. Later. -
I too noticed the BadBull gone and I was gonna try and get it as aloaner from GG as I have been sold a dud amp from them - nt their fault and the online/ phone guys are a pleasure to deal with. Might see if I can snag the Performer 600 looks plenty mean and i understand its got a valve in there somewhere too. Any of you cats had a go on one?
Not had an amp from the Performer range but I had their Black Cat amp... stunning amp! However, like the BadBull it is difficult to utilise the full power of it unless you have cabs with appropriate matching ohmages and when are you seriously going to need that much power! The P600 is a lot more sensible though 600w @ 4 ohms and it 'can' operate @ 2 ohms if need be.
Bought one Monday .. only tested it at home but pretty loud & so light ! Gonna gig it on Tuesday & let next band use it so I can have a listen (only vocal PA) .. time to sell some gear now lol ! Simon ps. speakon ext states 'minium 8Ohm' .. can I run a 6 or 4 Ohm cab ? (probably wont ever need to tho)
Glad someone on here bagged one... always the chance of it coming up used at a latter date. re. the ext cab - You can only use an 8 or 16 ohm ext cab with this combo. If you use a 4 (6's are available but rare and normally in cabs with drivers in multiples of 3) ohm cab chances are you will fry the amp.
Is this real? U have 2 of those? exact same wood combo and everything (except pickups?) This is incredible... Good lluck with ur sale 2
I'll not hi-jack Javier's thread... honest! I used to have two but I was made an offer that I couldn't refuse so one of them went across the pond. Both basses have/had identical pups but I replaced one with a set of Wizards to see how the tone compared but when I sold that bass the original pups went with it also.

By that I mean you have the technique of a bassist and not a cack-handed guitarist. -
I love orange basses. Not technically a bass I realise but it was the inspiration for my Streamer refinish... and the guy got the paint to match!

I'm going through my 10 year cycle of trying Flats again... give it a month or two and I'll be back to the clangy ones again!
