1. I've owned a brace of Euro's (inc a 5) and played a pair of NS basses and the NS basses were certainly better BUT not twice as good; No! However, you do have to consider that after a certain price point you don't get twice as good or even better, you just get... 'different'
 2.
Thanks for the Bass John... It's "effing" ace...!... Leon...
Cheers Leon, I knew it would be everything you wanted. Nice meeting you and be sure to give me a shout when you get the next Warwick.
 3. TBH if you are insisting on sticking with a 4x?? cab then I'd say it'd be too much weight for someone with a knackered back NO MATTER who made the cab or whether it had neo drivers in it (be aware that the weight saving of a neo driver accounts for a very small amount of the total weight of a cab)! I'd say that if you are having to transport equipment by yourself then you'd need to look at a modular rig whereby you are transporting smaller individual weights. Saying that if you always have someone to help you lift in and out of a vehicle then the answer is simply casters. Good luck and I hope the health issues don't get any worse too soon.
 4. The guy selling this (Dave Wilson) is a great luthier so this will be set-up fantastically well. I've seen this in the flesh but never got the chance to play it.
 5.
Well today was interesting. As well as on basschat I stuck it this bass up on gumtree (advertised for a higher price) this guy is very interested, rings up and we chat, lots of 'whats your lowest price you can do' chat, so tell him, option with a case option without a case. he drives from an adjacent town to come have a look at it. apparently as it is so damaged with dents on it (you can see them in the pictures) he doesnt want it. Goes away- then starts trying to talk me down via text, 'aw ill do it for £xxx', oh 'all do it for £xxx and throw in a squier' and that. The fact is if he had made me towards his last offer to start with I would have taken it happily! As it is it's just a bit annoying, maybe on gumtree folk barter more but it's just a daft, it has no concept of how much the thing is possibly worth. It seems like some wierd capitalist form of polite bullying. Thing is I am a stubbon obstonant person, and maybe importantly don't actually need the money at the moment. I was chatting to my wee brother and think I may lend it to him. (I tell the guy 'sorry but no, my brother is going to be taking it', he still then ups his bid... scheesh, he wasnt a very good player either!) It all makes me realise how nice and respectful of each other we are on here! The worst ive had with folk here is someone giving me a daft low offer to which I said no. It's nice we respect each other. It's been an honour to be offered a trade on some of the basses I've been offered! Anyway, I bought this bass as warwickhunt had it for sale and i loved the look of it, sold my status shark bass (the one doing the rounds on here), saved up (working on minimum wage at that point) and then pestered him (he had decided to keep it at that point) until he sold it to me. It is an amazing bass, the only reason I have it up for sale is as I found a natural wood one (sept 1991) which I prefer the sound too. The natural one was cheap enough that I don't need the money at the moment, and as such I'm taking ol' bluey down from sale for now. I'll hang on to it untill the time I need the cash, for a car or engagement ring or food or whatever. However, this is basschat, and most of you are good people; so as I did to warwickhunt, feel free to pester me if you want to cross my palm with silver and take ol' bluey out for a ride every night. Cheers Luke
Such a shame when you have a bad experience over a 'potential' sale Luke but rest assured someone will see the sense in buying Bluey!
 6.
I put my dirty clothes in it and, as if by magic, they appear back clean a few days later. No idea how they work, but they are bloody good.
Must try that with mine, at the moment I put in spare leads etc and when I open it up... they are still exactly the same!
 7.
TC Electronic 2x10 bass cab in very good condition. I bought this as I also own the RH450 head but I'm very happy with my Tecamp cabs and as nice as it sounds and easy to transport, I can't see myself using the TC cab so much going forward. Nice punchy tone and the HF is very smooth, not harsh or clangy. Used on 4 gigs. 400 watts. 8 ohms. Very small footprint so perfect for small stages. Looking for £300.00, cash collection. Will try and upload a picture in the next few days. Check the following link for all the spec..... RS210
Two cabs or a duplicate thread?
 8. Sorry for the tardy late reply but here we go... The 4x10 The 1x15 Note the bottom of the flightcase it is standing on as I didn't get a full on shot of the case. The pair stacked There are a few scuffs and scrapes on the cabs but nothing major.
 9.
Was that the one that was on Ebay a few weeks ago?
Yep.
 10. Just out of interest how do you know for sure that changing the pups will improve the tone of the bass? It's all hypothetical/debatable but surely what you are hearing is the inherent tone of the bass and the pups are simply amplifying that; I wouldn't have thought the pups on a bass like a CS Ltd Ed CC would have been shabby. If you don't like the sound you are hearing it could equally be some other aspect of the bass... Yes/No?
 11.
I may have an addition to this thread very soon - I'll update asap..........
Beat you to it... my 'current' Zon.
 12.
And does the 500w now weigh less than the 100w did then?
Significantly!
 13. 28 years ago I needed 100w (Marshall Superlead) to be heard in a band 23 years ago I needed 150w (Laney PB150) 17 years ago 250w (H&K BassBase 250 combo) 13 years ago 500w (the above x2) 7 years ago 850w (H&K BassBase 600 @ 2ohms) 2 years ago 1000w (Tech Soundsystems Black Cat OR a pair MB amps) Presently... 500w (Thunderfunk) and to be quite honest I'd bet I could manage with a lot less given what I know about amps, cabs, cab positioning and PA
 14.
Hi all. I've been speaking to Kevin Drexler at Sadowsky about a custom order. As I was about to confirm it all, I realised that I have never played an NYC! I have, of course, played the Metro series, but never a NYC. Is there anyone on here with an NYC in the Suffolk/Norfolk area that I could try? I'll let you play with mine while I'm on yours... Thanks in advance. Adam.
With the caveat that every bass differs to some degree I'd have to say that of the 2 NYC's (1 owned) and the 3 Metros (1 owned) I've tried, there wasn't a 'massive' difference in feel and playability between any of them; so if you've been happy with how a Metro plays then you can expect the same if not better. When it comes to tone that is different and a lot more subjective and it'd be totally dependent upon what it's loaded with and what the wood combinations of your choice would be. What are you likely to be going for?
 15.
Wasn't there a saying about adding up the 'watts' of all the guitarists in the band , adding 100 w for the drummer , then doubling it and that's the number of watts you should use???
Phew, glad I don't play in a Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band!
 16. I suppose you have to consider the 'potential' hassle offset against the saving. Just out of interest how much are you saving over the cost of buying from The Bass Merchant/The Gallery/GAK?
 17. Hello en onthaal. I have fond memories of Utrecht, I did some gigs over there about 20 years ago... a pure coincidence totally unrelated to your age I assure you! I'd fire away with questions about your Celinder, folks would love to drool over pics as well.
 18. Sunday - Warwick Streamer Ltd Ed Monday - Bolin NS4 Tuesday - Warwick Streamer Stage I Wednesday - Zon Sonus Thursday - Warwick Streamer Stage II Friday - Sadowsky Metro PJ Saturday - Warwick Infinette ... Oh! Just remembered I sold my SSII this week so I need something new for Thursday. In all seriousness, I couldn't pick a favourite but if my house were burning down and I could only save 1 bass it would be the Infinette... or maybe the Bolin... NO the Sado... but maybe I could tuck the Zon under my arm...
 19.
How much for the mic stand John?
£550... but you get the rest of the PA for free!
 20.
Guess I'm just curious about all the Fender-love that's been going around lately... that and the Fenders are a fair bit cheaper than another Sad
Some brands will wax, some will wane but there'll always be Fender! However, you are right about cost.
 21.
MB1. ....Found the old Kodak Instamatic Yet? BUMP!
The cabs are being retrieved from the back of his 'den' (not an easy task as he has an Aladdin's Cave of stuff) but he reckons he'll not get time to do anything till the back end of next week. As soon as he has them out he's gonna give me a call and I'll get the pics.
 22.
Ive got to say, I really like the style and sound of your Sadowsky PJ....it really works for me!
Cheers. I loved the NYC model that I had with the 'Big Singles' in but tbh in my band contexts, the PJ does it for me! It's been said before but the Metro range are 'almost' if not as well put together as the NYC basses you just don't get the fancy tops etc.
 23. I have to say that I just did some demo recordings (to produce a CD to get gigs) and the Sadowsky was as growly as any of my Warwicks and needed NO tweaking or EQing to sound full and superb!
I am thinking about getting a Fender (after years of not liking any I've played). Possibly a 4 string PJ to complement the Sadowsky. Any opinions on the various artist PJs? Frank Bello, Tony Franklin fretted, Reggie Hamilton.
Why not get a Sadowsky PJ?
 24. This is an absolutely, unequivocal, shameless plug here but you could buy a cracking pair of cabs and a 1200w power amp from me for £350 which leaves you £50 to buy a preamp pedal or similar. You'd NEVER need worry about headroom and if push came to shove you'd have a spare PA system!
