1. I've known John the co-owner from way back in the 'Rock City' days and it'd be a cryin' shame if they have gone t*ts up!
 2.
Nice Carvin B4 HERE frankly, I could see this going for 5 or 6 hundred bucks at the end of the day.
I take it you do mean $ Dollars and not £ Sterling? If you were UK based buying it, then @ £500-£600 would end up being closer to £850 (shipping, duty etc.) and I can't see that happening in a month of Sundays... no matter how good the bass is! Even if $600/approx £400, it would still be a £650/£700 bass to import.
 3. The bass in the OP reminds me of the (IIRC) Gibson RD bass... weren't they pants as well? Only joking Gibbo owners.
 4. Now that's what I call minimalist: Gain/Bass/Treble Excellent.
 5.
So is the type of garage a woman has, some kind of vajajay waving exercise?
Been so long that I reckon that Mrs WH may well have bricked her garage door up!
 6. I haven't read the other 114 posts but I've no doubt someone has said the Squier 'Classic Vibe' Jazz but I'll add my praise to that, especially the neck.
 7. I've checked out the weights of a LOT of basses of late and if I were offered an 8lb bass I would consider it light... period! 9lb - 10lb appears to be quite average and anything over 10lb I'd consider getting heavy, when you hit 12lb you are REALLY into the big boys.
 8. Crikey Moses! Someone will be getting a bargain and I'd be surprised to find that these aren't already spoken for by now.
 9.
It really is weird folks think Ws are heavy. I suppose my vettes $$ feels pretty heavy when you pick her up, but strap that baby on and you won't feel it. It is a perfectly balanced instrument and a three hour rehearsal NEVER troubles my 9.5 stone wendy house frame. I NEVER get back or shoulder ache at all, and I can fling her about on stage like a rag doll.
I'm glad you picked that up Silddx, as I was going to let it slip so that I didn't sound like a broken record! Even the heaviest Warwick I have ever owned (solid birds eye maple body) was under 10lb and most have been between 9lb - 9.5lb (and I've owned a few by the way). The dreaded black hole bass commonly referred to as the Thumb bass is still unlikely to tip much over 9.5lb, heavy for its size but no worse than a lot of Fenders and Fender wannabes. In my quest to reacquaint myself with my love for the Jazz tone, I've purchased 4 Jazz or Jazz style basses and 'every' single one is heavier than my 3 main Warwicks! Believe me, Warwicks are no better or worse than 99% of other manufacturers of standard sized/scale basses. There are exceptions to every rule and yes a Bubinga Corvette may be a bit heavier than an Ibanez SR bass or whatever but you can draw that comparison between virtually any two basses. Phew... however I don't think this is the last we shall hear of the dreaded 'Heavy' Warwick theory!
 10.
Yep, me in the end. Seen 'em go cheaper occasionally, but seen 'em go for more too, the cheapest price in the UK seems to be £620 from Peter Cook's without a case, so I reckon that's a good price.
Have you got an offer from eBay/PayPal of 10% off your purchase price when you pay via PayPal?
 11.
Maybe but all I said was that 1lb is very small in weight, as is 2lb so I stand by what I said. Have you tried a 4" or 4 1/2" strap? That'll make everything in weight un noticable. I don't have a great back either and until using that width strap found my BTB's to be too heavy but they are heavy. But my other basses are hardly noticable...maybe it's a shape / counter balance thing? Being neck heavy is more noticable than body heavy to me.
A reply from another 'walking wounded'! Weight/Mass is not negated by having a wider strap... period. It may not impact on a particular area of the shoulder or back but when the issue is 'weight', a wider strap does nothing, neither does a perfectly balanced bass! As for 1lb or 2lb being a small weight. Agreed... if we are comparing the weight of a pair of elephants. However when an instrument weighs 8lb and you talk about slinging a 10lb bass around your neck you are talking about 25% more weight. Hardly a small increase and very pertinent to bass selection. Sorry but the weight thing appears to be sidetracking the thread so back on task. Warwick/Status Buzzard - Pterodactyl
 12. I love the fact that they are selling a bass and didn't even know that it had midi capability!
 13. A simple question really... other than Owen and I, are there any other Bolin owners on Basschat?
 14. Odd that 2 people have commented on the weight of Warwick basses and yet with my latest obsession in bass weight loss I've only found ONE bass that is lighter than either my SSI or SSII (yes the 2nd one is Afzelia which can be heavy)! I'm not here to stand up and defend all Warwick basses (regardless of the fact that I have 3 for sale ) and I've no idea what model the references were aimed at but I do know that the OP stated Warwick = heavy but would love to try a Spector; I've owned 2 Spector Euros and recently have tried 2 USA Spectors... ALL of the Spectors weighed more than EITHER of my Streamers! Not entirely different basses Warwick/Spector but it is amusing to see how prejudices can be formed Hmmm
 15. If you work from the assumption that a lot of your tone is in your fingers then you really can open up your search to cover a lot more bases/basses It may not be your cup of tea but the guy who just bought my Warwick SSI fretless has a Warwick Pro M fretless (one of the earlier Pro M series) now going spare, I've no idea if it suits your needs or is something that even interests but I'm speaking to him later today so I'll get some details any way.
 16. If you are on a pilgrimage across the Pennines, you could turn left (hoon it a fair few miles up the road ) and you could blast through my DB12s and I'd likely as not be able to persuade WoT to bring along his Berg 2x10s... maybe the above mentioned SWRs
 17.
I hope it sells quicker than mine did, lots of compliments no cash im afraid.Nice guitars.
Oddly enough last year I considered buying an identical high gloss lacquer bass to this in the same see-thru red and the two that I found couldn't be bought for less than £1000. The strength of the Euro and the Dollar might make things more interesting, so I'm probably going to put all of the Warwicks up on TB and see what happens, especially as I've found a very reasonably priced International courier.
 18.
If it was your orange one I'd be putting my girlfriend on the game to raise the cash.
That one went to a European, Warwick endorsee some time ago.
 19. 'Quell surprise'... it's back again and the seller is warning others of some nasty buyer who either didn't pay or returned the item; can't understand why! 20.
bluey's younger brother!
I prefer to think of her as a prettier sister. The 'Jazz' basses have all been snapped up but as usual the usual apathy toward all things Warwick!

 22. The clear out continues! I traded this for a Warwick +cash and it stands me about £750, I would hope to get as close to £700 as possible. There are no issues with the bass; it plays nicely, has a very healthy output and is in excellent condition. I think that I am right in saying that due to the fact that it is a 2007 bass then it will be loaded with Lakland's own pups. The guard is a minty/off-white colour and the body wood has a very striking grain to it, I'll take more pics in the daylight tomorrow.
 23.
Selling all these Warwick's , will you still be able to retain that user ID? What's the action like on this one? Cheers, Lee
Oh I can still rightfully be named WH... My Mrs reckons I am any way! The action on this is low/medium low as it is strung with flatwounds but the neck can be set ram-rod straight if you want the action right down and you play with a light touch. I should add that I have a few sets of brand new round wound strings if a prospective new owners wants the bass set up with those instead (though you'd have to describe how you play; do you really dig in or do you have a light touch etc.).
 24.
Oooooooh, now that IS nice.... Sure you wanna get rid?!
'NO' but the old girl just doesn't get used!
