1. Just bought 4 lots of x3 packs Hartke strings off this guy and he combined the postage, sending the whole lot for the cost of one sale... http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQfgtpZ1QQfrpp...3aMEWNXQ3aMESOI So to confirm that is 12 packs of strings (NOT 12 single strings but 6x4 string set and 6x5 string set) for a TOTAL of £47.96 inc P&P. Put another way £4 for a full set of strings INC POSTAGE! No brainer really and he has more for sale ending soon.
 2. Potential bass available for me (again) so if anyone wants this give me a shout.
 3. Your main problem/issue isn't so much which bits are original and/or replaced, it's hoping that not too many people on here know where your 'local' 2nd hand music shop is. You may find that when you go back, that mystery bass has been spirited away by friendly folks helping you out of your dilemma!
 4.
Excellent condition Fender Sting for sale with Gig bag. (Basslines pickup but original included) £400.00 ono. Prefer pickup from Milton Keynes. Meet halfway if reasonable?
Och and there's me living in the Oota Hebrides bonny lad... and where is it ye'll be wanting to meet then hen? Wid Glasgee be alreet fir ye? One day I think I'll try one of these. Seeing as how I'm a teacher and from near Newcastle I'm just wondering if it's a case of playing the right bass then suddenly I'll be rich, famous and capable of tantric sex... as opposed to poor, unknown and indulging in frantic sex.
 5. x2 DB12s (one with tweeter, one without) and I initially thought that I would need the tweeter on full all of the time. I've come to appreciate that the tweeter on 12:00 (50%) gives me plenty of top end clarity for that old school tone with a bit of bite (oh yes all technical terms with me ).
 6.
Quite right, Warwickhunt... give him a clip round the ear! Blummin' whippersnappers. After that, do you fancy chips down South Beach cafe? They've got a great senior citizens special on. They've got a wireless too, so we can listen to The Archers. Oooh, me aching back...
I heard there was a tranny down the beach but I obviously got it all wrong... Is there 'real' bread and butter with that OAP special? If so, I'm game so long as there are no big kerbs (cue 'Bob-a-job week' jokes).
 7.
Whereabouts are you? I'm in York but might be too old (34).
"too old (34)"... Too OLD (34)... Too 'Chuffin' OLD (34)... I'll give you a slap in a minute 'Young Man'! You could of course view yourself as 'far too young for Jazz' or 'right on the brink' for a fledgling Blues muso.
 8.
Hi, I have used the 12er all the way through, but it doesn't suit everything we do. Both of the Hamer 12's I use are quite heavy, too. I have a nice Dean Rhapsody 8 which is lovely to play, with a nice big sound, but that comes out in its turn. I'm into my Warwicks at the moment.
A man of great taste, obviously! Hello and welcome.
 9. So he'll do cash on collection for a bass cab ( http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PEAVEY-4x10-bass-pro...1QQcmdZViewItem ) but NOT on basses/guitars... Odd! He's obviously a store/retailer but when you look at some of his responses I wonder how he stays in business.
 10. PMd I've owned a few of the H&K BassBase range (predecessor to this range) and they are 'really' good amps... especially if you bagged an eBay bargain!
 11.
I take it you don't [s]punt much trash[/s] - oops, I meant sell many quality instruments on the Bay of Thieves, like wot I have been known to... As if compulsory FeePal ain't bad enough, you're probably right. J.
Nah, I quite agree with you; I despise what eBay has become and I'd hate to see any of their latest practices rolled out across the whole of eBay. Obviously eBay can't levy a charge on what you decide is appropriate for postage so the twat5 are now trying to do away with allowing you to charge a buyer ANYTHING for postage, knowing that you will have to have a higher starting price or reserve to cover your P&P and they can then stiff you for higher fees! Absolute Barstewards!
 12.
I'd give him the 99p current bid just for that nice flamey headstock - but the £25 postage is pretty much pushing it over-budget! J.
Shame eBastids new 'free postage' initiative didn't extend to Musical Instruments... give it time though!
 13. Seeing as how I've just acquired a Lakkie I think it's about time we pulled them all together on one thread. Humble I know but I'll start it off with my Lakland Skyline JO4
 14.
Anybody got one/owned one? May be looking for a corvete model and would appreciate any comments. Cheers, Jez
I've not had a great deal of contact with the Rockbass range but I'd offer the suggestion that you look at a 'non-Rockbass' used Corvette that is a couple of years old. It will have better hardware (not sure about the pups) and you may be able to find one of the Prolines with actives (defo better pups). The wood used on the early Corvettes will most likely be a step up from the Rockbass, so in summary you'll get more bass for your money buying a used Corvette than a Rockbass Corvette. Just my humble opinion though.
 15.
MB1. ...Local Collection?
Within walking distance luckily.
Ill leave it to you in my will
Ah bless! So when did you last have the brakes checked on your car?
 16.
+1 on everything you just said, your a gent!!!!
Cheers Lee. ... now if you'll just sell me that JV!
 17.
MB1. "Sold Locally!"..........."This is a Local Bass for Local People!...We'll have no Trouble Here!.......Are You Local?"
It would seem that 'local people' also pay more 'local money' for 'local basses'!
 18.
Do you get hit with much tax when they come in, or are you able to sneak them past customs?
I thought I'd initially avoided the taxes but got hit with £20 a few weeks later! However the strings still came in at £22-£23
 19. "Bastid... jammy chuffin BASTID! If he fell in a bucket of shyte he'd come out smelling of..." Ooops was I talking out loud? Nice one Chris look forward to hearing all about the further exploits.
 20. Drop Brandt from www.ThePerfectBass.com an email they did me a cracking discount (mention that you are a TB member ).
 21. Still waiting Chris! What ya got?
 22.
oooh mate..... you're gonna love my longhorn custom, next to my Sadowsky UV70 the body looks pretty dinky !! Decent weight too..... Sounds MASSIVE !!
I've already had a preliminary consultation with the Doc' However I would like to see/hear this Custom!
 23. If you use the search facility to scan through the Basschat sales section only, you'll get an idea of how much 70's P basses have been going for and you can then adjust the value according to the advice above.
