Right out of the Happy Gilmore school of comedy. Fantastic looking bass. Are you sure you want to sell it? Once it's gone it's difficult to get back.
Honestly I LOVE the look, feel and tone of these basses but after owning this ultimate Thumb bass if I'm not going to gig it then I may as well not own another Thumb bass... that statement will no doubt come back and bite me on the backside.
I've got some cash put aside to insulate the loft, I'm sure the family wouldn't mind me spending it on the Thumb. Then again if I didn't keep it in the same room as the Dolphin I doubt anyone would notice (apart from it getting cold).
Wow You use cash to insulate your loft... we've got these big rolls of fibre stuff; with that much cash you could easily buy my bass off me!

I seem to recall making a voluntary contribution some time ago... is that no longer available for those that wish to do so?

I've not noticed any major failings and from my (limited) viewpoint I don't see change for the sake of change being necessary! If it ain't broke...
Fortunately, I don't have to pick the bike up.... I didn't exactly build it to be lightwieght! If only I still had my Bass roadie, this wouldn't be an issue. I could get the big old Trace 4 x 10 out again.
Ah, I was thinking posture.

Not surprised your back is shot... look at the bike! I wouldn't worry about the Schroeder's height it tends to be heard pretty clearly regardless of proximity (mid hump I believe but don't let that make you think that it lacks bottom end). The Zoots get good reviews and are very similar to the Tecamp cabs at a fraction of the price. I've not heard Alex or BFM's cabs but they seem to be well spec'd and receive glowing praise. I do have to say that if you are considering a single cab that weighs 19kg then why not 2 that weigh 19kg? You'd only ever be carrying one at a time! In which case you can then start to consider a lot of alternatives, inc the Aguilar GS/DB12's which would come in under your budget. Oh it starts getting really messy when you can't try them first, I should know I went through the same process due to a dicky shoulder.

I realise the end of the neck shows a 69 date but there's just something about the fingerboard and aspects of the bass in general (is that body colour a Fender colour?) that make me think it isn't what it's cracked up to be. I'm not saying it's a scam but it doesn't look right to me! So what's wrong with this Rickenbacker... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Red-Rickenbacker-bas...1QQcmdZViewItem

It's one thing for a mixed up non-expert to imagine they have a rarity that is worth a small fortune but when a shop retails a 20w practice amp worth... Oh eleventy twelve pence; then you know they are having a laugh! Thinking about getting a small Eden head
Interesting - don't want that kind of problem. Were you pushing it really hard? I've not looked at amps since I got the Trace, so apart from Mesa, what else should I be looking at that won't break my back?
What makes you think the Mesa is a light weight? I'd use the search facility on the forum as there are loads of threads discussing the merits of light weight amps like EA, Markbass et al. -
Is the Walkabout loud enough? It's only rated at 300W at 4ohm
You could pick up one of the new Thunderfunk amps from the States (750 watts @ 4 ohms and 'can' run at 2 ohms) as they are voltage switchable... if it wasn't your cup of tea I'd have it off you. -
Had loads of Eden gear and it's all been great.... The WT400 is great !!
I completely forgot that you'd owned most of the Eden range (inc a Metro or two) over the years. In fact if anyone in the NE wants info on any of the top marques I should just point them in your direction anyway, as there can't be many brands you've not tried (and I mean that in a good way, not sarky ). -

Not that he probably needs it but if you are considering loaning Neil an amp I can vouch for him; 100% solid guy. I'd seriously considered getting the WT800 before I got my Thunderfunk but I was put off by the 'rumours' of one or two recent reliability issues... others may be able to dispel that myth! IIRC 'WoT' tried out an Eden recently (before settling on his Boogie) so it might be worth asking what he thought of it. Saying that your musical styles and genre are miles apart but it might help. Good luck.
