If my girlfriend saw another bass being delivered then she would actually lose her mind…(I’ve been trying to think if I’d be able to convince her that it’s the Thumb BO that I sold a month ago [I don’t think she’s worked out that I sold it – I didn’t tell her just in case…] )

I won't say anything if you don't! Here's a bump for the Thumb, Warwickhunt.......

Can't beat Mr Hunt for a straight dealer on his basses & gear - I'm more than happy to vouch for him & when it comes to Warwicks he really knows his stuff
Cheers guys. Plenty of interest in the bass, though as yet 'I still haven't found what I'm looking for'. (cue U2 lyrics)
 2.
Thanks Warwickhunt for posting the link. Height is 30 inches. Width is only 21" which makes it so easy for carrying through doorways. PM to Kalim.
That for me is the killer punch; not only is it a featherweight but you can walk through a doorway without turning sideways... and no scrapped knuckles. Ah bliss.
 3. Lakwood... Lakwood... Lakwood... sounds a bit like...

 8.
Travelled up to Whitley Bay to buy Dave's Cairnes Stingray. Fantastic bass (can't get over just how nice the neck is) and a top bloke to deal with. Unfortunately the trip may just have kindled my interest in a Vigier after seeing Dave's in the flesh! Cheers Dave! Oh and his other half makes a great cuppa too.
WHAT? Pam made you a cup of tea! How many years Dave and I'm struggling to recall a cuppa... ever.

Anybody (John, Michael, Marcus .. others based up here) know the seller?
I've watched/seen one or two of his listings in the past (all good stuff if it caught my eye ) but for the life of me I can't remember if I ever established who the actual person was! Anybody add anything (Michael, Mark, Dave...)
 11. I had my order within about 3 days of placing it and I think that included the fact that I placed the order late afternoon!

Thanks
Hmmm, see above. The nice Spector is now gone, so cash isn't an imperative.
 15. Just a heads-up and nowt to do with me... No pics and I've no idea where in the UK the seller is but if they lived local to you and this was in good working nick it'd be worth offering them £125 (saving them eBay/PayPal fees) and offering to collect. Bomb-proof Peavey amp for not a lot of money! 17.
Nice I don't want to do this to myself, however, do you have a cash price in mind?
There's always a cash price in mind Ben I do have to admit if I sell it there's a fair chance that SWMBO will spirit the money away for another house project, so a trade would be best. Saying that I do know of the whereabouts of a nice Spector which a sale might get me closer to...
 18.
Good point - do you know how I move the post to 'other related stuff'?
PM a Mod or it may well just get shifted when someone spots it.
 19. I've got to say that 130 euro for a complete overhaul of your hardware is pretty damn reasonable, especially as the tuners etc are pretty high quality units and you are talking a 6 string! Resell the bits you take off and it'll not have cost a lot to give you the look you want. Oh and I agree the black will look classy on the dark wood.
 20. Nice case, nice Warwick but is it a 'bass' for sale or 'other musically related stuff'?
 21. I seem to recall reading something on TB about Phantom Power frying the DI on 'some' amps. I certainly had no problem up till I read that and wouldn't have even been aware of it if I'd not read that but were I to change my amp (I know this one works OK ) I'd consider buying a small DI box. Take the DI from the amp into the DI box and from there to the desk, that way if there is a problem your amp doesn't suffer. Alternatively as has been suggested use an unbalanced line out or effects send from your amp to the desk.
 22.
it was the GS, a 2x10 + 2x12....too heavy & bulky for my needs really though!.....but a nice sound & I could be loud enough for me too hear it well, without my drummer complaining! (there's gotta be something in this rear or front facing ports thing....) ....is it true the DB's have rear ports? I am hoping that the smaller GS speakers... like the 1x12's, impress me the same way..... it's got to be quite portable for me... up to say similar in bulkiness of 2 x SWR goliath Jr 2x10's weighing in at 55lbs each( ..which I'd like to try if I can find somewhere with 2 in stock!) .... but preferably lighter.... I've got 14 stairs up to my front door!...& it's a narrow passageway.... (ooh er misses!)
The DB112's certainly have rear ports. I take it you've considered and dismissed the Tech Soundsystems 1x12's on this forum... certainly can't get any more portable than those!
 23. I was going to keep this 87 Thumb purely because it's a golden oldie from Warwick but there's not much point having it if I'm never going to gig it (and I won't). The bass is generally in great condition for 21 years old. It has been a 'players' bass and as such there is wear around the top of the pickups (proper early EMGs) and parallel with the E string but this would be considered mojo on a Fender and is barely noticeable from a distance. No issues with the bass and I'm about to strip, clean, wax and set it up with a fresh set of Warwick EMP strings. Other than looking fantastic it has the lovely early Warwick slim neck, which you can get a bit more info on by visiting the Warwick forum or have a look through the thread on this forum re. Warwicks. Being the early JD model (truss rod plate is logo'd) it has the sculpted headstock rear and the tuning spacers (which are intact). With regard to what I want. I'm 'mainly' interested in a nice NT Spector or 'early' Warwick Streamer Stage I (no later than 89 and the earlier the better), though I could be swayed for something like a Zon or similar unusual and light bass. If the Spector is a USA I'll balance it out with cash or if it's a Euro LX etc then cash the other way. A deal with an unusual/rare Streamer 'could' involve me looking at putting cash to it but only for one or two specific Warwick Ltd Ed basses that I have in mind. PM me what you have.
 24.
The curious thing is that most cabs should sound fatter/fuller the more watts that get pushed through them because when you turn things up the frequency response of the human ear gets better in the lows so it sounds like you're not just turning up the volume but also boosting the lows. The reason many cabs don't act like this is because their low frequency power handling is so poxy that they start compressing/distorting in the bottom before you've got them up to a loud volume so the frequency response tilts more towards the mids and highs as you increase the volume. The reason this cab doesn't act like this is because it is big and has six nice 10" woofers sharing the load so by the time it starts compressing/distorting in the bottom it's so damn loud that your ears are giving up! Alex
Ah... I knew there'd be a reason
 25.
My first real high end bass, a Spector Euro: It was much more nicer in the flesh, I'd love to have another go with it now, I'm even half tempted to see if the current owner is tiring of it.
Hey Josh if the new owner is tired of it and you don't fancy it back... give me a shout
