Believe it or not I have Leatherman PST tools listed on a Buy It Now for £17 whilst simultaneously listing an identical item auction style... the auction item was bid and won @ £21! OK that is one person that could have saved a few quid if they had searched my items but I also sold another identical item minutes later to the 2nd highest bidder via a 2nd chance offer. Hmmm am I complaining

However be aware that the whole white/output & black/ground may well be turned on it's head if Andy didn't use that config. I purchased a pair of pups off Andy and they had red/green wiring, Andy put me right with a simple phonecall and even talked me through the soldering job as to what went where to get it working with my active EQ. There are a whole bunch of guys on here with the same pup, why not look on the review thread for the Wizard pups and contact one of those guys?

I suspect that you're getting the phasing problems described in the above posts, but because of the way you have it wired you're only getting partial cancellation from one half of the humbucker, and swapping the wires has just given you partial cancellation from the other half of the humbucker instead. Tell you what, if you can draw a diagram of the current wiring I should be able to see where the problem is and make recommendations. A man of few words Olly Genuine friendly advice here... some folks (admittedly not everyone) like a bit of detail and info, so why not pad out your thread with a bit of extra info that isn't available in the eBay listing (how old it is, did you do the defret) or maybe stick a couple of pics on here (it's free unlike eBay listing photographs) of the bridge so that people can see what grub screws are missing and maybe other members might have a couple spare kicking about that they can let you have... it happens! Why not offer to let any local Basschat members come and try it out before they buy We don't all bite. One or two will if you ask nicely

As I say I'm going off the contouring on the headstock which was phased out on the Thumb 4s by 88, so this appeared odd on a 89 bass but it could be that it was due to the 6 being very limited in production. The sellers image shows what looks like 89 BUT I'd love to think that it was earlier. Bear in mind that the Warwick serial numbers are totally hand stamped during this period (I've seen misaligned digits and even digits that have been 'crossed' out and restamped)... could someone have stamped a '6' upside down? When you get it I'd stick images on the Warwick Forum and ask if any other Thumb 6 string owners can show what the back of their basses headstock looks like. If you can find any candidates from the same period see if they are flat on the back or sculpted. No disrespect to Warwick Customer Services but you'd be wasting your time asking them as I've seen several people quote what Warwick have told them and it is patently incorrect

NICE! But... are you (or the seller) sure that is an 89? The only reason I ask is that the sculpting on the back of the headstock is generally specific to the earliest model Thumbs. I could be wrong but gut feeling tells me the bass should be an 86, in which case you've scored a bigger bargain <edit> I see that the photo shows an 89 stamp and thinking about it the Thumb was only available as a 4 up to about 88 and then the 5s were introduced, so it may be that they carried over that rear headstock shaping into the 5s and 6s even though it was dropped on the 4s prior to 89. Either way a cracking looking bass

I shipped a bass to Romania (EU) via UPS and it cost £100. The bass arrived safe but there was hassle as they scr*wed up the collection day and then relabelled it at some depot which caused hassle for the recipient as he was asked to pay for the delivery. £100 is about the going rate for a bass insured for delivery from the UK to within the EU. HOWEVER... if receiving basses from the EU into UK I've paid as little as £18 (from Germany) and an average of no more than £30!

It's gotta have given you a boost, so build on it and go on from here
