Wow. Does this blue one bring you bad luck or something? This is a steal. Incidentally; are you still planning to sell the orange one? And -if so - what sort of a price would you want for that?
Thanks for the support on the value of the blue one The orange one I could and would sell but I'd be loathed to put a value on it... the refinish alone set me back £350+. Then there's the preamp and cost of the initial bass! It'll probably take a combination of a lover of Warwicks, a fan of Helloween and someone who likes orange, to make an offer that I'd accept! Time will tell, and any way I have a 91 Dolphin Pro I to sell before the orange bass

You need to make your buyer aware that shipping 'to' the continent is a lot more expensive than 'from' the continent. They may well get hacked off if they find out at the last minute. I've had basses delivered from Germany and it has cost approx £20; when sending a bass to Germany it cost close on £80... and as has been pointed out Norway are NOT in the EU so you have more taxes etc.

Question for Warwick experts!
warwickhunt replied to Johnny Wishbone's topic in Repairs and Technical
Try searching Warwick.de for a few answers and there is (but b*ggered if I can find it now) a whole bunch of downloads available on the Warwick site giving the schematics of all of their pre-amps. However, it has already been pointed out yes you can get active and passive versions and also what many people seem not to realise is that many of the Warwick pup/preamp systems requirer a battery for the pups to work. You take a battery out of your Streamer etc and you have a dead bass regardless of whether you are in active or passive mode! The MECs and various other pups are active and require juice to work, the push/pull pot is for switching off the active EQ. -
The Washburns are decent but not the cheapest.

Rickenbacker 4000 Bass........... £10000
warwickhunt replied to MB1's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
When is a dog not a dog? When it's vintage! It's sh*gged... it's sh*te... and requires shooting but some t*sspot will perpetrate the myth that because it's old, it's good. Sorry but that to me looks like something I would have turned my nose at for £100 never mind adding zeros on the end. -
Unfortunately you are competing with Gogol Bordello @ the Carling and due to having bought tickets in advance they win I will get to check out some other BCers playing one day... one day! Have a good one.

TBH some folk on here will be aghast that it is costing anything as they could do that kind of thing themselves; on the other hand if you are useless with set-ups and swapping bits then £55 is the fee that most tradesmen would charge for the first hour of work. I've just had work done on my house and every trade that I had in (sparky, brickie, joiner, plumber, plasterer etc) charged a bare minimum of £50 an hour (mates rates for one or two jobs). Did I/could I grumble at that? nah because if you have a trade or service that other people want then you have to pay the going rate. Local rates around here would however indicate that £55 is on the top end of the scale for a standard set-up, hence charging that extra £10 is a bit cheeky because if the bridge is a direct drop in replacement then it's a 5 minute addition to the job... mind if the bass needs to be routed or modded then that's fair enough. In summary - If he's good at his job and the job has the potential to be tricky then his price is fine especially if he has expensive overheads but if he's a part-timer working out of the garage or as a handyman in the local flea-pit guitar shop then a smidgen high.

Very odd scratching across the top bout/horn! The contradiction with that bass is that it looks like you should play/treat it like you don't give a fook; 'guitar stands are for softies' style. However, it's worth as much as any boutique new bass that you'd cosset
...and - ooooooooooooooooooh yeah! I try not to get excited about stuff before I've used it in anger, but this is proving to be a bit tricky to keep under my hat... so to speak. Sounds great, and loads of welly. There's so many options - use it standalone, plug my JPJ 12" cab into it (it'll be a 2.67ohm load, but apparently it'll be fine), whip the head out if anything happens to my 'main' rig... I love it. More soon. :-)
You is gettin worse than me
Ah, the old confusion between different and better. Despite what many would have us believe, these two words are NOT synonymous.
I agree totally. I've had a multitude of basses over the years and there is a correlation between density (body size would dictate the weight) and tone but better... no, just different. I can still recall an Alder bodied Jass that I had that had such lovely mellow tones and it was beautifully light, however my tastes changed and I wanted less mellow and more punch so I flogged it and bought an Ash bodied Jazz. Same bass technically (a Jazz) but the body woods gave me 'different' tones. Interestingly you can debate what influence wood type and/or pups have but consider this... if you construct a bass using a blank body template of a Jazz and install a P pup, does it sound like a P bass or a Jazz bass? if you construct a bass using a blank body template of a Precision and install a pair of J pups, does it sound like a J bass or a P bass? The body mass isn't 'that' much different and the shape on something that is so similar shouldn't have any bearing; given that the necks would be the same what would you expect?

Our old friend has yet another stonking bass! That neck looks 'too' good to be true... One point of note - In the past he has always made reference to detailing about pots, such as 'original untouched solder' etc using specific language (at times stating original pots but NOT stating untouched solder etc) and yet his listing makes no reference what so ever to pots or solder! He is quite meticulous in his choice of words (not overly detailed but 'meticulous') and I tend to look for what he DOESN'T say! Stunning looking bass though!
Think I've worked out what the extra stacked pots are for; Piezo Bridge Pick-up... Watch the cost spiral further out of control. Price? New, from the Warwick CS, as it stands? Proabably the better part of £2k.
Agreed; new about £2k wouldn't be a shock BUT... luckily the $$ bass that all of the options have been thrown on 'isn't' a NT $$. Now that would have been expensive!
This seems like a hell of a lot of Bass for the Money !
Agreed! At this price you could probably afford to sell your Bolt-On Warwick on eBay and with the proceeds buy this Neck-Thru... AND you'd probably have some change! A No-Brainer really!
