I have mine on my pedalboard. I run a line from my pre pedal to one input on the transmitter and the other channel is fed from the PA; it means I can tweak just the bass volume from the transmitter without needing to get engineer to boost me.

No affiliation but I got my 5.8 from the ebay seller below. I paid zero tax/fees on top of that BUT I may have just been lucky. I also find it frustrating that the volume kn0b rotates freely/easily and it takes very little for it to turn down (never UP oddly). https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/234741820221

2.5 - 3 hour drive down the road for us and the first time I've ever played the venue... or even within 75 miles of Oldham!

https://www.mipro.com.tw/webls-en-us/mi-58.html 4th related video on the site. Unsure if it helps?

This is where I ended up after a few budget system trials (and not so budget but still not on 5.8) and I couldn't be happier.

Compact budget PA set-up to put bass through (without back-line).

Don't correct yourself too quickly... When I was a teenager I pulled a pair of Wem column speakers (my first foray into amplifying an instrument) out of a bin and they could well have been 10" or LESS! -

Our sub is 30% lighter than one of those and our pair of 10" QSC tops are lighter than one of those... no gains in weight or ease of transport but I'm 100% sure they'll sound great! -
Oddly enough @Beedster my band Cheat Trick have just decided to do The Budokan album in full at our next gig!

I'd like to hear those! -
Ah but when will you be doing this format for the legendary first 'Cars' album?

Decent Budget 8-String from Schecter: Riot Eight

I got my Hagstrom for half that price and it is pretty playable! -
I ran/run the smaller K10 and it does a sterling job. I don't use it with a modeller, I run an analogue bass preamp pedal into it; one line feeds the QSC and the other goes direct to PA. However, I also run an aux back from the PA desk to the QSC 2nd input and I can then blend a mix of PA feed with pure bass feed... ideal for 'more of me'! When I do use it I find that putting it on a PA stand/pole at the side of the stage at ear level gives me a perfect point of sound source (no wedge style firing at the knees or back of legs). The 10" model has a wider dispersion pattern than the 12" and the 10" can handle pretty much anything you put through it without complaining/farting.

That is SO true! The amount of times I've read of folk waffling on about 'rare' or pre Custom Shop basses and one off Ltd Ed basses but back in the late 80's and 90's you told the dealer what you wanted and they made it. If you wanted a SSI bass with SD JJ pups (as per SSII), you asked; if you wanted a Dolphin with yin/yan inlays, you asked. They wouldn't retool a whole production line to do something but putting in different pups, preamps or inlays was just normal. Saying that, most folk bought whatever off the shelf bass was in the shop/store (normally at a discount).

I would also add that if you aren't going to go the full custom mould, you need to find an IEM that fits your ear shape. I bought the KZs and couldn't get on with the fit, moved over to Sennheiser 100s and they fit 'me' superbly (regardless of the buds used). I'm sure it's all over on the Bible thread though!

I should say that I've gone the same route in the last year after 40+ years of big beefy amps and cabs. More positives than negatives... probably... no, definitely... most of the time! LOL

MASSIVE and informative thread if you do a quick site search for IEM Bible.
