If anyone sees a white TKS112 for sale... it's pinched.
warwickhunt replied to warwickhunt's topic in General Discussion
UPDATE TO THE UPDATE... I stated a dispute with eBay re this matter; eBay handed this over to Paypal as that is how I paid. Despite being given repeated opportunities to give ANY response re this matter Peter Barton (aka 'vintageinvestments' on eBay) refused to engage in the dispute process (quell surprise) and Paypal have refunded me. Why this guy has dragged this out is beyond me. He clearly did not hand over the cab to a stranger knocking on his door claiming to have won it... how could anyone know he had sold it on eBay and how the hell did they get his address when even I didn't have it? You just wouldn't would you? The main thing is that in about 30 days I'll have the funds credited back to my credit card (almost 7 weeks after paying) and with the assistance of BC I know a lot more about Mr Barton and I'm wise to him should I ever have the pleasure of meeting him professionally/in person. Oh and I'm still in the market for a TKS cab. -
Manufactured 2019, so thanks to Covid19 it hasn't had loads of use! I bought it with the intention of using it with an acoustic (style) 3-4 piece but changes to the rest of my gear makes this redundant. The front-ported 2x10 combo might suit those who aren't so keen on rear porting. It can be stacked with any 8 ohm Traveler or Standard cab, for more volume and headroom. The CMD 102P combo angled cabinet design allows the unit to be used either as a floor monitor or in standard vertical position. The built-in VLE and VPF filters help create a warm and natural sound. Very clean condition and drivers will be barely run in. SPEAKER: 2x10" TWEETER: piezo BASS PORT: front IMPEDANCE: 8 ohms SENSITIVITY: 101 dB SPL SPEAKER POWER HANDLING: 400W RMS (AES Standard) AMP OUTPUT POWER: 500W RMS @ 4 ohms / 300W RMS @ 8 ohms FREQUENCY RESPONSE: 40 Hz to 18 kHz CROSSOVER FREQUENCY: 3.5 kHz WEIGHT: 38.14 lbs / 17.3 Kg WIDTH: 23.03 in. / 58.5 cm HEIGHT: 18.5 in. / 47 cm DEPTH: 18.7 in. / 47.5 cm Trades - I'd never say never but PLEASE do not message me with bits of kit that I can clearly find on BC / eBay / FB for £200 and tell me it is worth £500, I'm not daft and I know how to search for relative values. Likewise '1 off' custom orders that you may well have paid £3000 for but sadly the average bassist values at £500. Sorry it is better if I'm just up front about it. Vintage Warwick basses will always float my boat, likewise unusual esoteric brands. I'm partial to a light weight bass so anything that you 'estimate' to be over 9lb (and will likely be 10lb+) isn't of interest. Be sure to message me with offers and not directly on this thread. I would be prepared to add money to a deal if it was something I wanted... an 88 Streamer Stage I would be nice.

I've had this pair of cabs some years now and I have LOVED the tone and stackability of them. You really have to applaud the design that allows drivers to be arrayed vertically like that. I get that you can tip any cab on it's side but the handle arrangement etc mean this is how it should be done. The benefit of having 4 drivers with the top one near head height as opposed to blow past your knees is the way it should be. You can of course stack them on their side and it's advisable if you are going to use 3 of them (yes, I did have 3 of these cabs + the 1x12). The weight is manageable and I've carried one cab in each hand from car park to venue but the benefit is when carried singly you can walk through door frames without whacking your knuckles... it's the little things that please me. Cabs are rated 400w @ 8ohms each. Eminence custom 10" drivers with 33mm voicecoil, titanium diaphragm. Each cab has a tweeter control (tweeter built into the top driver). W x H x D 356 x 664 x 356mm and 21kg / 46lb Each cab has a genuine TC padded cover. Condition if I am being brutal is average/good. They do have scuffs, dings, scrapes etc but nothing major or structural (the pics are representative of their condition). I've ran these with allsorts of amps from 120 valve amp to 1600w Blacksmith and they perform effortlessly. These are not Neo drivers they are ceramic Eminence drivers and pack quite a punch... dare I use the 'H' word? Buy the matching TC Blacksmith amp as well and I'd do a deal on the lot. Trades - I'd never say never but PLEASE do not message me with bits of kit that I can clearly find on BC / eBay / FB for £200 and tell me it is worth £500, I'm not daft and I know how to search for relative values. Pleased it resonated with someone. I'm not being too prattish about that am i? I just think that folk need to be honest with themselves, everyone wants a bargain when trading but you can't go saying something that cost £500 (new) off the shelf is worth £500 against something that itself cost £1500 when new... well some folk can I suppose. Obviously some bits of kit hold their value great and others, less so but your equation looks about right.

I think I've gigged this twice since getting it, so it is in immaculate condition. 1600w (can operate down to 2 ohms), 3 presets, built in tuner, 4 band parametric EQ, Tubetone emulation, multiband Spectracomp compression. Preamp in/out, digital recording out - Balanced XLR, AES/EBU, (24 Bit), Dimensions - 483 x 412 x 178 mm / 19" x 16.2" x 7". 12kg / 26.5lb Presently pictured out of its rack case as I was going to use that with another amp but can include it for a further £25 FREE (case is top quality, light and also 'as new'). I'm happy for a prospective buyer to come and try it out. I even have x3 8 ohm cabs if you really want to see its potential... but it is equally stupid loud at 4/8ohms. Anyone concerned that 1600w will destroy their cab, fear not, this amp has a killer feature... a MASTER control. You only need to turn it up enough to blow the bloody doors off; no more, no less. Seriously though, you can run this into any cab, you just turn it down and it can NOT blow your driver up. Why am I selling it? Since lockdown kicked in I bought one of those fancy new technology Handbox WB100 (120w) amps and I already own a Tech Soundsystems Blackcat and a TC Staccato 51 as back up amps, so something needs to go. I'm also about to advertise a pair of TC RS210 cabs (400w each @ 8 ohms), which I would discount the amp £50 if you bought those with it. Can I run two different cabs off the same power amp?
warwickhunt replied to Jamie Snell's topic in Amps and Cabs
Agreed but we don't know that the cabs/drivers are totally comparable and not been messed with, if you have 2 cabs and 2 channels you gain nothing from running both off one channel! -

Way easier to balance what each cab gets using vol knob, if you have both on one channel how do 'you' give each one more/less power? -

The wattage is shared BUT you need to research and appreciate that quoted figures are bragging figures, so are nominal/vague. -

Cans - None. Amp - 2.6 ohms if you connect to single channel. -

I should have said that your cab ohmage can not / will not change, it is fixed. The only thing that changes dependent upon ohmage / load is your amp. The higher the number your amp 'sees' (has attached) the lower the power output. Putting 2 cabs on as you are talking lowers the ohms and draws more power from the amp. This is all phrased in layman's terms. -

You're clouding/confusing the matter. IF each channel of your power amp is separate and can operate at 2 ohms then your 4 AND 8 ohm cab are within its parameters and both can run off 1 channel. However each cab will get a bit more/less power, not the end of the world BUT why not just run 1 cab off 1 channel (ie 4 ohm on #1 8 ohm on #2)? -
Were you in similar situation, how would you be feeling?
warwickhunt replied to Munurmunuh's topic in General Discussion
I've solved the mystery... it floated away! In all seriousness I hope you get sorted and get the bass rather than get a refund. -
Pearce and Yamaha used similar layouts/knobs. Who are the band?

If anyone sees a white TKS112 for sale... it's pinched.
warwickhunt replied to warwickhunt's topic in General Discussion
UPDATE The BC community moves in mysterious ways! I now have a name and FB profile for this guy - I'm going to give him time (and the benefit of the doubt) to square up with me. If he has indeed been scammed then that is his problem, not mine (I'm assuming he has informed the Police and has a crime number?). Refunding me is the legal and moral thing, let's see how quick it happens.- 57 replies

Let's be honest... you'd not hand over something to someone turning up on your door with no proof of ID etc especially when the buyer lives 3 hours away and they've paid you up front for the courier. -

The odd thing is that I've just looked at his feedback and it turns out he sold this very same cab back in April and received feedback for the sale! No idea what that is about! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154398118747 -

I wondered if anyone would message me or comment re. knowing the seller as he seems to sell a fair bit of gear on eBay and there must be some BCers who are near to Clitheroe! The inconvenience of having £230 locked up in a dispute for 2 weeks (to date) and possibly longer, is just that - inconvenient 'to me'. If someone desperately needed their cash it could be very different for them. Oddly enough, if I'd had the time to drive to Clitheroe to collect it, I'd have done so... and popped in to buy your Streamer while I was in the area. I'll be watching for said cab popping back up when this is all sorted. -

I know it, you know it, pretty much everyone who has viewed this knows it... but it is down to Paypal to investigate (with the help of eBay) and to decide. The guy doesn't have a leg to stand on because nobody hands over something like this to a stranger knocking on the door; I'll say again that even I don't have his address yet, so no idea how he expects to convince anyone that a fraudster managed to get it. The eBay system for collection requires him to scan a code, I can guarantee that hasn't been done because I haven't requested the code... due to the fact I paid him £30 to have it shipped to the other end of the country! Confused Luke - I didn't pay cash, I paid via Paypal, funds from my CC. eBay say it is a Paypal matter as that was my payment method. I've started a case but need to wait 7 days for the guy to reply via ebay. An unnecessary delay as the guy knows he should just refund me. -
I'm about to run through 'Black Velvet' - Alannah Myles. Nothing too tricky but a slight twist as I need to transpose it up to G#m rather than Em (D#m really as it is detuned a semitone). I'm just going to have to work harder as I don't have the open strings to play with.

I'm 100% certain that I'll not see the cab (via the sale in question), I'm 99% certain that the seller is a lying cretin, I'm not putting a percentage on me getting a refund any time soon because it involves eBay and Paypal (now passing the buck)... we shall see. Up until this incident I've been of the opinion that as a seller eBay/Paypal is fraught with hazards and areas where you can get scammed/ripped off. However, I thought as a buyer it was pretty much bomb-proof and the exact opposite to the situation for a seller. My experience is revealing a whole minefield of situations. -
Is now good time to be buying 'quality' musical instruments

Oh and a pukka USA Sunburst Ray with case was just advertised and sold 15 miles from me for £750... maybe we all have it wrong and we see what we want to see. -

eBay/Paypal have had a few changes of late. eBay made me wait 10 days for him to attempt delivery and then it was transferred to Paypal... who say I have to wait 7 days while they contact eBay for details! Luckily I paid on my credit card through Paypal but if I need to go down that route I'll be involving Action Fraud and the Police (not sure if it will be of help but my wife works for the Police) as it is theft from me rather than him. -

eBay have turned it over to PayPal so we shall see. The good thing is that it's not like I can't find the guy who was the seller and if I don't get a full refund then I have someone to direct Action Fraud toward.
