  1. I'll add my £0.02 worth... I've owned 5 Dolphin basses; 1989 Pro I (one of the first), 1990 Pro I, Set Neck Tone Chamber, Pro I 'custom shop' and a Pro II. I presently own said Pro II and all others have been sold, that speaks volumes. They share the Dolphin shape but the neck location, feel is superior (IMHO) on the Pro II. Added to which they are lighter and the Ash body maple neck sounds unlike any other variant. What is sometimes over looked is that the neck/horn position means the first position sits closer to you on a Pro II than a Pro I. They do sound 'burpier' than the Pro I and you well never get the distinct tone of a NT Dolphin from one of these BO. One caveat is that the rear (bridge) pup solo is far to thin to be used in isolation, unless you are really trying to get that sound. Footnote - the German 'Shadow' made basses 'v' the Japanese ones; I've yet to see or have a definitive way of identifying which is which... and I've done a fair bit of research over the last 30 years. Great basses and not to be dismissed as an inferior Pro I, they are a distinct and different bass.
  2. I never say 'never' BUT if it isn't something that really interests me the value would have to be such that I could sell it immediately, without hassle... in which case you'd likely get more selling it yourself. Message me and see, I can only give 1 of 2 answers.
  3. Have they loaded OK? Nice 89Ltd in your profile pic!
  4. Just bought a cracking bass off Alan. Nice easy comms and a pleasure to meet and chat with... in an appropriately socially distanced manner! Highly recommend with no reservation.
  5. I know I'm the one selling it BUT... Check out the spec and ratings on the Hughes & Kettner Bassbase 600 and then check out my amp in the sales section. I seriously don't believe there is an amp of this quality for less than £500 never mind £225. The amp retailed @ £1000+ when new and has features and quality components unsurpassed... unless you need class D weight?
  6. I know what you mean. It is almost a case of; artist likes a stock bass/guitar, artist plays it and endorses (for said company to make more money), company aesthetically changes the least they can to justify increased price tag over the original model! Inlays, covers and spray jobs are the least costly, so we'll slap those on... and ruin what was good about the original instrument!
  7. On hold! ...no longer on hold. ...back on hold pending payment (different BCer) ...SOLD
  8. Dropping the price to £400. I should say the gigbag is a genuine Fender unit and very well padded, not a cheap plastic bag!
  9. Almost at that same point again... different walls, (mostly) different basses!
  10. I was looking for one of my old basses and I found that sale thread!
  11. Cheers, anyone wanting the SuperJazz sound but don't want the typical 'F*nder' look, then this is the boyo! I've owned my fair share of Jazz style basse inc' a Dingwall fan fret and a brace of Sadowskys (inc USA) but in terms of tone this has beaten them all. Last clear out was 12 years ago... let's hope it's 12 years till my next one.
  12. Unsurprisingly it can do 'Jazz' but in that juiced up Jazz way of Sadowsky basses. I'll need to research these pups as I don't think they are simple single coil units. The reason I say that is that the neck pup solo has a lot more meat to it, almost as if it is split-coil 'P' bass vibe!

    .

This is a USA made from the early 2000's. Ash body, Maple cap, Maple neck and Rosewood fingerboard with lovely MoP dot inlays. Frets are like new. Jazz style pups with active / passive switch. Vol Vol Tone controls... so all very Jazz like! Bridge and machineheads have a matt/satin finish. No damage whatsoever and I can't detect a ding or dink anywhere. Complete with original case (mint condition not a mark on it), tools and case candy. You'd be hard pushed to tell this from new and unlikely to find another in this good a condition.
  14. TBH I can see my other amps selling and oddly the one that I thought would get snapped up first (certainly for the money), is going to be my back-up amp!
  15. Just to be clear - the truss rod cover is a genuine Warwick factory item NOT an off the shelf add on and YES it is 'genuinely' less than 9lb in weight; I'll add a picture of it on the scales.
  16. I thought I'd put in a picture of the bass on scales... I hadn't (thanks for reminding me folks)! The bass is 9lb 15oz
  17. Pleasantly surprised that as many people hold the LX basses in as high esteem as the way more expensive NT models!
