  1. Not all rechargeables are created equal! Get a very good brand and they will match the best + you don't have to last as long if you have 2 sets and swap them out.
  2. Actually the original Tonex Pedal can be had for £250 which is a canny drop on what I recall the cost being on release! Looking at it though, I'd still need to run other pedals for phaser (+ my other part time band needs me to use an Octave & Chorus)... back to the drawing board! LOL
  3. Yeah it was the £118/£128 that was appealing to me initially. If I start looking at £300 I could buy a pair of Tonex ONE pedals... but my budget isn't stretching past £150.
  4. Mid gig, busy schedule, I'd not want to shuttle between modes! I can add pedals but I'm looking for a 1 pedal solution.
  5. That makes sense. Sadly it won't allow a 'clean' amp setting and then a dirty (crunch) setting and then a phaser/flanger setting for use in a set 'on the fly'. I can have 2 out of the 3 but not all 3.
  6. To clarify @bnt - you can set up slot/preset A to have an amp sim and a couple of effects and have slot/preset B to have an amp sim and different effect(s)? I essentially require 1 global amp tone/EQ and then I add either a bit of drive (for 3 songs) or a flanger (2 song). I don't think the Tonex will work for me as that is effectively 3 settings; clean / dirty / flanger. I'll end up having a preamp pedal (which I have a few of) before the Tonex and the Tonex would be set up with A = dirt / B = flanger. Not a one pedal solution. I've just bought a 2nd hand Zoom MS 60B (not the +) which 'probably' gives me what I need but it is not intuitive (at the moment) to set up, to fit my one pedal solution.
  7. Tonex experts... Can you answer please? Tonex ONE in stomp mode, is it running one of the amp modes in the background or is it purely acting as a single use pedal (when off it is bypassed)? Can't find the answer online.
  8. I think you're exaggerating... by about 1/4"!
  9. We use a 15" FBT sub (small and one person carry if need be) and it does great with a pair of QSC K10 tops. However... small to small/medium is about its max; medium bordering on medium/large would be too much.
  10. Yes I'm aware of the general over exaggeration of some of the new amps but I seem to recall the old RB400 (200w) being very loud (for solid state), the 800RB seemed way louder than the 300+100w.
  11. That inherent 'compression' which can be replicated; is that why (old) GK RB amps sounded louder than the rated (solid state) watts @Bill Fitzmaurice? Did they use compression? I seem to recall harmonics/boost etc being bandied about.
  12. It will work if you add a router but not something I thought we needed but could be added later.
  13. I've joined a new band so rehearsing to get up to speed (sax player has just been added to). The CQ12 doesn't allow for individuals to set own mixes so I just set an 'average' mix for everyone with each of the 6 individual aux outs that are assigned to members having a bit more of that person in the mix.
  14. I take our QC12 desk to all of our rehearsals (at a professional rehearsal space); I simply swap out the speaker leads of the in-house desk for our desk! All settings saved and quicker set up times plus I get to practice using the desk.
  15. I was just clarifying this, as some members are still unaware and it can come as a nasty shock to both parties!
  16. "Price is 1400 GBP or 1650 EUR shipped to your door. This is a UK and UE countries only sale." This is just an observation and a genuine comment to clarify but you are aware that any transaction with the UK will mean that the buyer incurs 25% taxes + other costs?
  17. I have passive basses, I have active basses... I have active, passive basses. I have pedals, I have preamps, I have preamp pedals and I have amplifiers... ALL of these things turn the passive electronics into 'active' so I don't ever think about it. If I had to make an absolute choice I'd choose active; it's like passive but MORE!
  18. Output can go; nowhere/personal monitor/combo/amp&cab/IEM/anywhere.

  21. Interested to know the answer as I have backline gear (inc T'funk 550 and a TKS115) but I generally run a preamp pedal into PA. I'd like to have a little Sumo sized power amp for the occasion when cabs are supplied/available.
  22. Looks a bit 'fickle' to me!
  23. Is 2.4GHz just a no go for you @ped? I only as as units like the Line 6 have a cable tone control to dial back that inherent cleaner top end. I know it sounds daft but if the NUX is 'adding' top end to your overall signal (I know technically it isn't but it is revealing top end maybe), can you not dial back that top end on your Eich combo. I suppose I'm suggesting that the NUX was OK before the combo, so the combo having a clearer top end is the issue!
  24. I now own both the Lekato WS-50 (5.8GHz) and Nux C-5RC (5.8GHz). The Lekato was bought as a 5.8GHz upgrade to my Line 6 2.4GHz unit (which was good but suffering 'occasional' drop out, probably due to the bands I was in moving to digital mixers) and I was very happy and have zero complaints. I've recently however, joined a new band (and resurrected an old band), so felt that the NUX's ability to recharge on the fly if needed, was useful; added to which the NUX seemed a better quality unit (inc the on/off switch). A/B there is nothing in it between the units... literally nothing. I tried them with passive basses, actives (inc 18v), piezo loaded bridges and a bug on a Double Bass; no difference between either unit. I will say that there is a tiny bit of difference (through quality headphones) between the 2 units and a regular 1/4" lead BUT that could simply be that the lead had no boost which the electronic devices must have been giving (they were slightly louder cleaner/toppier). If I could put them on a scope maybe I'd find detail but in everyday use 'nadda'! The NUX certainly feels more premium but on a budget, the Lekato would suit many. However, I appreciate in some situations, certain basses/equipment appear to not work as well with some units but I couldn't replicate any issues that others had. £50 v £150 (approx) you pays your money...
  25. If you are talking radio gear for bass (as opposed to IEM); I've been using the Lekato WS50 (5.8) for a year and never had a drop out, I'd say the signal is actually 'slightly' cleaner/clearer than a cable. I've upgraded to the £150 NUX unit just because I've been impressed with the 5.8 frequency and I feel I'd like the security of a more robust unit... though it isn't to say the Lekato won't have continued to do a great job! NUX arrived yesterday and will be gigged tomorrow night.
