1. Why not have your 5 string defretted?
2. Must be about the 5th or 6th sunburst from that period that I've seen with that blistered/knackered finish... if you find one undamaged, don't tap the finish too hard!
3.
Good luck with the 412
ANOTHER Schroeder? I swear he is trying to build a house with them!
4.
I am withdrawing the ad, I will hang on to it a while longer. Thanks fpr all the kind comments
...90 minutes. Is that a record?
5. Where are you based and can you describe the controls; is it a pup switch or pup blend?
6. If it is available, I'd recommend someone snap it up!
7. I own a pair of 4's and used to own a 5 string and these are simply stunning basses to play... it's almost so cheap that I'm tempted to try 5 stringers again! The 'upper horn' swinging extension makes these a perfectly balanced bass and they are rarely heavy; body is flat on the reverse and convex on the front, so it is slimmer around the edges. You'll also not find a sweeter piezo than this. Do me a favour though Col, snip that D string a little shorter so that it doesn't scratch the lovely headstock.
8.
The biggy for these is that they have two volumes, one per pickup.
Pet hate of mine! Much prefer one vol and a pan pot.... you can't do volume swells with two volumes!
9. I could have hooked you up with someone with a full blown genuine USA mid 70's bass but it'd be way out of the MIJ MIM 'Bitsa' range! :/
10. As an 'emergency' back-up I take a BBE preamp pedal (meant to be for acoustic but works well with bass), which would be DI for desk. I can't justify carrying a full blown amp just on the off-chance my amp might fail.
11. The speakon is superior connection to a 1/4 jack (period). No output/scientific reason not to go amp > cab > cab but I prefer to take two outputs from the amp to the inputs of the cab; my reasoning is that should one lead fail I'd still have some output. If you did it amp/cab/cab and your fist lead between amp and cab #1 failed you'd be left with silence mid song/gig!
12.
A bargain at £741 - nearly half price
You say nearly 1/2 price but ebay generally reflects the market value. It wasn't listed in the wrong category, misspelt, it didn't have poor pics etc... it is simply that at this time of year in the UK that is what it is worth! It could have been listed on here at £1500 and people would have Oooohed and Aaaahed but I doubt anyone would have put their hands in their pockets and bought it!
13.
Regarding packaging etc, I've made good use of cardboard bicycle container boxes from Halfords etc. They're good thick cardboard, and 20 mins with a stanley knife should enable you to cut one down to the right size and shape. I've then packed the guitar/case/gigbag whatever in layers of bubble wrap and/or crumpled up newspaper, left over cardboard etc which are all lightweight and give good protection from bumps etc.
THIS
14. Sometimes better to join local Facebook 'bass' group and watch for stuff coming up for sale.
15. Lovely electro-acoustic, approx 10 years old. Plays nicely and I'm only selling as I've recently got a Taylor guitar. The colour is a bit more muted than it is in the first picture, more tobacco burst than the sunburst that it looks. Good but not mint/new condition; no major dings or scratches, I'm being honest about condition (it'll probably be better than I'm describing it)! Please note the case isn't included.
16.
You have a huge role in your band, are you paid more than the other members. Blue
Band #1 I get £20 per gig out before we do a straight split, this pays for the upkeep of my PA. Band #2 require bigger PA, hence I get a straight split of profit.
17.
BUMP. New price £495 . I will measure and weigh tonight (been away fro a while)
Still waiting for weight!

19. The first pic makes the finish look darker on the bottom, do you have a better pic?
20.
Just checked and on my kitchen scale (accurate to 20g I think) it shows 4.1kg.
Hmmm I had my doubts when the original seller assured me it was 8.2lb! Really appreciate you taking the time and I'm sure this'll find a settled home soon. .
