1. I would go for this but finances tie my hands. Have a bump though.
2. Blue LED's are the future.
3. Yeah, Liked the sound of Higgie's old one but was too late when I decided I would like one. The email mentioned its a very popular pedal to add custom jobs too. I imagine the hiked price is a reflection of it popularity.
4. That bass makes me feel warm inside.
5. I recently asked Barge about this. The reply I got was in the region of $200. I dont think the extra is worth that much more to be honest. The email also said they put them in bigger cases so you end up with a larger pedal.
6. +1 CIJ
7. Dont get me wrong, Im all for the noise. But god help the guitarists in your band haha. Heres an Idea (back on subject). Could you not take 2 speakers from your 8x10 out and then kinda resize the top of the cabs frame?
8.
oh yea i forgot to tell you. yea and 2 8x10s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! metal back to the cab. yea it is but it'll be funn
Ill be there this time. The cab thing just seems a bit...OTT really. Each to their own I suppose.
9. That seems like a lot of effort man. Wouldn't it just be better in the short term to use what you have until you can afford the bergantino? (or just go the DIY route fully?) Oh yeah, while I'm at it, I'm planning on making it to the Le Pub gig on Saturday. Will you be rocking the Sunn?
10. Ive been toying with the idea of picking one of these up to take some pedals out of my signal and just clean things up a little. I have to admit the feedback element is kinda selling it for me too. Just wanted to ask anyone who has experience with one how they found it and if they would recommend it (or what other similar boxes they would recommend) Anyways, not set in stone so just after opinions etc, Thanks
11. Maxon ROD 880/881 The bass on song 2 sounds a lot like chords and a big muff to me (probably wrong but what they hey)
12.
I’ve even herd of bassists using guitar pedals to get the sound they want…..
....You're kidding? aaahhh em! Silliness aside. I use the following. Sansamp BDDI Maxon ROD 880 Fulltone Bassdrive (chain in that order) You learn what works for you though. Just try what you can but get to know what you use before you decide its not the sound you want.
13. Howdy, Great pedal. Nice price too, I would have it if I didnt already own one (though if im honest, more useful on a guitar than bass) Hope someone picks up a nice treat of a pedal with this.
14. Put t on its side? A rubber matt? Im glad you're getting some use from it. Sounds like you scored a good buy.
15. HAHA! Thats me proved wrong. I guess they look stronger than they are.
16. I was going to post about this since im currently fighting my Pbass to get as close to 'right' as possible.. So thanks for bringing it up.
17.
Get the proper stuff
Its a castor, its not like someone buying diesel for a petrol car. Who wants to pay as much for the castors as they did for the amp? Im not defending their products in anyways but they're made for filing cabinets and the like, I doubt they'd take the combined weight of newspaper to break.
18. I remember back in the day when I worked in IKEA, they sold pretty heavy duty looking castor's. Individually IIRC, for a few quid each. Might be worth a shot if you are near one.
19. I have a 72 tele with humbuckers not unlike that sum 41 guys. Its a great guitar, like a les paul but not as bass heavy. Shame stuff like that wasnt around when I started playing.
20. Ah, well that would answer that one. Ta
21. There was one on the for sale section not to long ago. I dont remember the price. I think ive got a nice enough rig now and for the sound I can get from it all, the NE-1 just doesn't fit anymore. If I was still using it in my signal chain it would be a space on my board I could fill with something else. If your looking for something to give you a lot of tonal options then I would say its a great piece of kit and worth having if you can find it cheap enough.
22. Just out of curiosity. What does the Mesa EQ box do?

Must haves

I guess for what you play then filters/synths/octavers and wah are going to be of great use. Maybe a little fuzz pedal perhaps. I suppose a drive pedal is handy if you play the odd rock song, something to grit up your sound and make it a little more attacking but if you want a really polished and slick tone a compression pedal would help even the signal out.
24. I haven't used mine in a long time but its basically a preamp from a Yamaha custom bass in a little box. I would say its aimed more at cutting mid from your tone. I bought mine since I didn't have a very good bass or amp and it beefed everything out a little. Its easy to use and doesnt take a long time to find a nice sound from it. But I dont think Yamaha make them anymore so not sure of prices or how easy they are to find.
25.
Haha..not a fan of Ibbies? I've got a couple of six strings and they're fantastic. One's a Les Paul type and the finish is amazing. Sounds great too - nice and warm.
No, Ive always associated them with w***y OTT solos, funk/jazz/rock fusion nonsense and cheap first 'instrument' syndrome. Hardly a brand bias I suppose, just think they are tacky and have bad memories of buying my first guitar. I appreciate their basses are of a different quality. I'm more of a Fender/Gibson man when it comes to guitars.
