  1. According to guitarists we're the troglodytes who can't read or write and failed at guitar. Good drummers are definitely not troglodytes or neanderthals but there's a lot more bad drummers than good ones. Singers are odd.
  2. I think that's the case with a lot of bands/artists. Stadium shows suck no matter who is playing though.
  3. In my last band, I played a 5 string and the guitarist played a 7 string. During some of my rare trips up beyond the 12th fret I ended up higher than him.
  4. I saw her at a tiny venue in Bath. Probably 100 person capacity. She was very good but I wouldn't want to see her anywhere much bigger.
  5. Isn't it just a guitar tuned to the notes in the lower half of the music pitch range? Everything else is just variations. It is however important to use the correct definition of bass or you'll end up with one of these
  6. I'd tell you where the leader of ISIS is with that sort of punishment.
  7. I can't watch that without expecting it to cut back to Peter Griffin. For a long time I thought Conway Twitty was just made up for Family Guy.
  8. I'm listening to Pixies live at Disco Rodeo. Absolutely brilliant performance, really well recorded. The bass sounds amazing. Pixies fans will hunt me down for saying this but I think Paz is doing a better job than Kim. Kim was one of the greats but Paz is just even better.
  9. Same as Lemmy. He didn't need to run around the stage. He'd just stand looking up to his mic, singing and playing and he was the greatest rock god ever.
  10. I want to say Chris Martin but I think he lacks character rather than charisma.
  11. I can't. As someone educated in the sciences and experienced with crap notation systems, I think music notation is by far the worst. I also think it's about time music went metric.
  12. I asked this after looking up a tab for Thunderkiss 65 because I was having difficulty working out the bass behind the guitar solo, there was something a bit funky going on. First tab I found showed straight eigth root notes, second tab showed it the same as the chorus riff which it clearly isn't, third tab was close but definitely simplified quite a bit. Even on websites where you have to pay they're rarely correct. The Sabbath book I've got which has errors is by Hal Leonard
  13. Cemetery sex - Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein
  14. I know, I should just work stuff out myself but sometimes I'm just lazy or want to look up a section I can't quite hear. I can't remember the last time I found a tab that was right. I bought a Black Sabbath tab book and there's a few bits in that which are wrong.
  15. Are the guitarist and singer not hearing you because of where they are on stage? All that matters is whether the audience can hear you. I like the previous suggestion about giving it some Billy Sheehan on the electric bass guitar. I'd also add some fairly disgusting fuzz and a wah in to that as well.
  16. That sounds like man maths to me!
  17. That's exactly the setup I have but with a Le Bass instead of bassrig. It's simple and does all I need. I used to think I needed fuzz and od and flanger etc, etc but I've decided simple is the way forward. The one thing I might miss if I swap the le bass for a bassrig is the clean, dirty and blended channel options.
