  1. Painkiller - Judas Priest
  2. Machines of hate - Fear Factory
  3. I like using a digital interface in to a PC and then use free DAW software. It allows you to drop in mp3 (or other format) tracks, record your playing, create drum loops, add in effects and set up a tuner. It cost me about £70 for a cheap interface and then download Reaper for free which you can run as a demo (it says 30 days free but never actually expires). You can also run a XLR from an amplifier or preamp pedal.
  4. Weed monkey - Weedeater
  5. All his videos are the same. A couple minutes talking about his morning, some jazz noodling, talking about "holding down the low end" then the last quarter is actual playing technique where he'll mention as many old session players as possible in between playing.
  6. Relativity - Primal Scream
  7. Charles Berthoud's whole thing seems to be take a great, simple song and ruin it by completely over playing and jamming in 20 times as many notes. There's also is "when you have 30 seconds to audition for ......." where he takes one of that bands riffs and completely ruins it by jamming in a million unnecessary notes to create something that sounds OK as a solo piece but would never work in a band
  8. Hotel California - Eagles (I hate this song, it's just terrible)
  9. I just bought three sets of Warwick strings for my daughters school and they were £9 a set. According to the music teacher the old strings were around 30 years old so according to some they were nearly at their peak tone.
  10. Sympathy for the devil - The Ancient Stones
  11. Cici bass is someone I recently come across on YouTube. Her gear demo videos are generally really good, creative playing to show the product capabilities nicely. It's the music videos I enjoy more though, it's a million miles from the usual youtuber slap fest and much more creative. This one I think is brilliant, definitely a bit of Cliff Burton influence in there.
  12. Am I evil? - Diamond Head
  13. Blood and Thunder - Mastadon
  14. I am the resurrection - Stone Roses
  15. From Mars - Gojira
  16. Anarchy in the UK - Sex Pistols
  17. What's my name again - Blink 182
  18. Burn the witch - Queens Of The Stone Age
  19. After getting started on Hendrix and The Who through my dad's record collection in the 80s my best mate Stu started stealing his brothers cassettes which included Faith No More, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Slayer and Metallica so we copied all of them and pretty much wore out The Real Thing and Ride The Lightning. After that it was Headbangers Ball and Raw Power which introduced me to grunge and a lot of alt metal including Helmet, Tool and Therapy?
  20. In to the white - Pixies
  21. Born for one thing - Gojira
  22. Rain - The Cult
  23. Eyes of the South - Down
  24. Snow blind - Sabbath
  25. In to the white - Pixies
