  1. A Forest - The Cure
  2. Your knob must be nearly 3/4". I'm surprised Mrs Pickguard can still walk
  3. Make love like a man - Def Leopard I've no idea how I remember that one.
  4. Green machine - Kyuss
  5. Sludge factory - Alice In Chains
  6. Where is my mind - Pixies
  7. Battery acid - Queens Of The Stone Age
  8. Danger high voltage - Electric Six
  9. I still occasionally see them advertising for a drummer and bassist so I'm guessing it's gone back to being just a recording project for the guitarists, one of them is a pretty handy drummer. It was their plan to have a big social media launch on 2/2/22 and that didn't happen. I think in their rush to get signed and ready to tour, they've put themselves back a year or two.
  10. This morning I discovered that Matt Freeman from Rancid has a new band called Charger. They've got an album called Summon The Demon which is a solid punk/metal crossover. There's hints of Motorhead and Iron Maiden. The bass is fairly restrained for Matt but occasionally his genius breaks out.
  11. Leg of lamb - Queens Of The Stone Age
  12. Well if you passed the crack pipe around occasionally and shared the methylated spirits they wouldn't complain as much
  13. Obviously as soon as you have the same gear as bands who play arenas, you can also play arena tours. Probably busking in the car park but it's still an arena tour.
  14. Along with ukuleles
  15. Surely just owning a harmonica should be illegal. Has there ever been a jam session where there hasn't been a harmonica player show up?
  16. Drink and/or drugs. They stop people turning up on time, knowing their parts and playing competently. Band members thinking the band will be the next greatest thing. A situation which in my last band resulted in the guitarist/singer telling me I had to buy an Ampeg SVT classic and Ampeg 8x10 plus a Justin Chancellor signature wah pedal. That in turn resulted in them needing a new bassist and shortly after, a new drummer when he was told to buy a new kit plus triggers and a 2kW active sub.
  17. P bass. Burst with tort pick guard and flats
  18. Blacker than a politicians heart.
  19. Painkiller - Judas Priest
  20. Machines of hate - Fear Factory
  21. I like using a digital interface in to a PC and then use free DAW software. It allows you to drop in mp3 (or other format) tracks, record your playing, create drum loops, add in effects and set up a tuner. It cost me about £70 for a cheap interface and then download Reaper for free which you can run as a demo (it says 30 days free but never actually expires). You can also run a XLR from an amplifier or preamp pedal.
  22. Weed monkey - Weedeater
  23. All his videos are the same. A couple minutes talking about his morning, some jazz noodling, talking about "holding down the low end" then the last quarter is actual playing technique where he'll mention as many old session players as possible in between playing.
  24. Relativity - Primal Scream
  25. Charles Berthoud's whole thing seems to be take a great, simple song and ruin it by completely over playing and jamming in 20 times as many notes. There's also is "when you have 30 seconds to audition for ......." where he takes one of that bands riffs and completely ruins it by jamming in a million unnecessary notes to create something that sounds OK as a solo piece but would never work in a band
