  1. Apparently they're all still friends and the dude playing drums is still looking for his glasses.
  2. I think any idiot can upload tabs to Songster.
  3. Jonesing for Jones - Wildhearts
  4. According to a comment on the video, it was an open mike thing and the dude having a go at the drummer was another drummer who wanted to play. The dude looking for his glasses had them on his head.
  5. Conspiracy by the illuminati obviously. It's true though, they are always wrong. Some of the books are even worse than online tabs.
  6. Guitarist and bassist look like they're used to it. I'm guessing this wasn't a first for them.
  7. Bulls on parade - Rage Against The Machine Bugger. Replied to the wrong one. Excuse my incompetence
  8. F**k tha police - NWA
  9. Jet plane - Queens Of The Stone Age
  10. Flying whales - Gojira
  11. Stone the crow - Down
  12. Low and slow - Beastie Boys
  13. Cemetery Gates - Pantera
  14. That is a bummer. The biggest streaming platforms are the ones with the worst sound quality and pay the least to artists.
  15. Peter Steele of Type O Negative used to play a double bass on a strap (chain) while singing.
  16. Lemmy Troy Sanders of Mastadon Al Cisneros of Om, Shrinebuilder and Sleep Mike Kerr of Royal Blood Charles Michael Parks Jr of All Them Witches
  17. Rituals of the sun - Stoned Jesus
  18. A minor modification to help with my incompetence. Luminlay fret markers. I had them fitted by a local luthier. He's done a beautiful job, perfectly flush and in daylight you'd struggle to see that they're not just the original dots.

    What happened?

My first bass was an incredibly ugly Peavey International IV. Bought from BreadBin, some previous owner had brush painted it in cream gloss and splattered in in red, blue and green. I played it for 6 months before getting a replacement. I then stripped it back to bare wood, resprayed it in surf green, replaced all the electrics and gave it to my daughter who absolutely loves it and plays better than me.
  20. If you're playing certain styles of metal, you'd never use the G string and rarely use the D. It just gets too bright. I did use an Ibanez SR300 tuned BEAD for a while, it was OK but I replaced it with a 5 string Stingray which had better definition on the B string, possibly due to the bigger neck. I ended up taking off the G string since I never used it.
  21. I'm surprised it's worth that much considering how little streaming services pay.
  22. Sub genres are useful when looking for something new to listen to. As an example, if I want to find something similar to Kyuss, I can search for stoner metal and know I'll most likely get a similar wall of heavily distorted, low tuned guitars playing blues based heavy music.
  23. The mention of White Zombie made me wonder what Sean Yseult is doing now, her bass in WZ was always solid. She played for the Cramps for a bit and is now in a band called Star And Dagger who definitely won't be reaching the heights of White Zombie at their peak.
  24. Thunderkiss 1965 by White Zombie and Gardenia by Kyuss are my two favourite covers to play. Gardenia is such a simple riff but there's just so many fills in there that it's fun and I think it would be impossible to play it the same twice. I can never remember all the variations of the fills so just improvise.
  25. Good point. I remember bands like Guns N Roses, Motley Crue and Def Leopard being referred to as metal at the time though. Our local shop used to have their records in the same section as Slayer and Anthrax.
