  1. I have no idea who any of them are. They all have names I can't pronounce so I assume they play the soccer ball
  2. Woman - Wolfmother I'm guessing the next ten pages could be filled with songs with Woman in the title
  3. Mario Duplantier has won every best metal drummer thing I've seen this year. Deservedly so, what he's doing is just incredible.
  4. I'm definitely the second best bass player in our band.
  5. Both of them would have to be above John Taylor using your logic because they've both sold more records. I think John Entwistle might have sold more as well, hes over 100 million.
  6. By your logic, Paul McCartney, Nate Mendel and probably dozens of others are better because they've sold even more records.
  7. 16 Psyche - Chelsea Wolfe If you've never heard this, do yourself a favour and have a listen
  8. There is no best bassist. Best bassist is just too vague and too subjective. To suggest anyone is the best and then think there can be no discussion or reasonable difference of opinion is just moronic.
  9. So because he was there first he was the best bassist in 2021? What utter horse poop
  10. I'm a fan of Mr Bungle and didn't know they did anything in 2021. I just googled incase I missed something and they didn't release anything in 2021
  11. I was a teenage hand model - Queens Of The Stone Age
  12. He has a point. At no point has it been specified that the best bassists can only be full time band members. A great bassist is a great bassist no matter what their chosen business model.
  13. They did release a new album this year. It's very average. Not a single big song of the standard they used to make. For 2021 I'd have Troy Sanders, Ben Chisholm and Jean Michelle-Labadie in the top 10. All have new records released this year with excellent sounding bass. They aren't individually famous but that doesn't stop them being extremely good.
  14. This isn't a list of the best bassists. It's a list of famous bassists in popular bands who play some interesting bass parts. They always ignore bassists who don't play anything fancy but hold together a band with absolutely solid timing, interesting rhythm and clever playing which is there to support the lead instruments and vocals.
  15. Forever (heart) Failure - Chelsea Wolfe & Converge
  16. Although I dislike Korn, I kind of understand their bass. It's being used as percussion. The guitar is tuned to B so pretty much has the bass covered. Their bassist, Fieldy has said in an interview that he hates the sound of bass guitars so tries to sound nothing like one.
  17. To be honest, I don't like slap in funk or pop either, especially when it's slaps and pops. I can appreciate funk a lot more wen its just a really nice groove played finger style.
  18. Does this mean slap is history? The only person ever to get slap right was Billy Gould. Every YouTube slapper sounds like a filing cabinet kicked down a mountain. No timing, no rhythm and no tune.
  19. I think that's true but does depend on the music. Sometimes that wall of sound is what makes the song sound great.
