  1. If anyone is interested, the T Cut did an excellent job. It took a couple hours and four glasses of Highland Park.
  2. I think the sentence he says most often is "he's a great guitarist, he played with us for a short time"
  3. No mention of Fea so far? Or Thundercat? Surely they both count as pretty funky
  4. Is there any argument to be had there? P bass with flats and a tort pickguard.
  5. It's probably shortened their lives no more than if they spent the same time smoking. Especially if it was good communist cigarettes
  6. Ed Sheeran is approaching similar levels of unpopularity to Coldplay, Maroon 5 and Nickelback
  7. Check out Billy Gould from Faith No More. I think he's one of the greats. What makes him particularly great to me is his judgement for when to keep it really simple but absolutely solid. His use of slap to accent parts and never get carried away with it is excellent. His pick tone is superb as well. Check out Midlife Crisis and From Out Of Nowhere Tim Commerford of Rage's ability to provide a funky groove behind rather chaotic guitar and vocals is excellent, he just brings the band together. Check out Renegades of Funk and Bulls on Parade Geezer Butler of Black Sabbath is just genius. His parts are often more complex than the guitar part. Check our NIB and Iron Man Cliff Burton of Metallica (up to Master of Puppets) was the master of making the bass the lead instrument. Check out Orion and Anesthesia (pulling teeth)
  8. I'd like the option to downgrade or remove my badge. I have too much free time, not knowledge or talent.
  9. Digging the Grave - Faith No More Twist the knife slowly - Nspalm Death Psalm 69 - Ministry Kill you tonight - Type O Negative
  10. I really didn't get on with SBL. It's OK for the very basic stuff but after that I very quickly got very bored with the lack of variety in musical styles. Any video featuring Scott you can skip the first half of the video because it'll just be jazz noodling or talking about his morning. I preferred the Talking Bass lessons, great teachers and more musical variety.
  11. I've just stolen a bottle of T cut from my dad's garage. I'll report back with results (possibly a thick ear)
  12. At that price range, I think I'd go used. In a years time you'll quite possibly either want to upgrade or maybe give up either way you'll probably lose half the cost of it. I'd look for a used Squier Jazz, Ibanez SR300, Sterling SUB Ray or Yamaha TRBX. I found a Jazz style (narrow) neck easier when starting out but now prefer something wider.
  13. Surely their current attitude towards selling used instruments can't be good for their reputation
  14. Some say his garden is a cemetery for the rhythm section from each album.
  15. Our toothpaste is collate whitening but my pickguard is black. Is there a blackening toothpaste?
  16. The pick guard on my Ray35 stingray is covered in fine scratches and looks a bit rough. Is there a way to polish out the scratches and make it look good again? I don't like the idea of replacing throwing it in the bin to replace it.
