  1. Forever (heart) Failure - Chelsea Wolfe & Converge
  2. Although I dislike Korn, I kind of understand their bass. It's being used as percussion. The guitar is tuned to B so pretty much has the bass covered. Their bassist, Fieldy has said in an interview that he hates the sound of bass guitars so tries to sound nothing like one.
  3. To be honest, I don't like slap in funk or pop either, especially when it's slaps and pops. I can appreciate funk a lot more wen its just a really nice groove played finger style.
  4. Does this mean slap is history? The only person ever to get slap right was Billy Gould. Every YouTube slapper sounds like a filing cabinet kicked down a mountain. No timing, no rhythm and no tune.
  5. Faith - George Michael
  6. 46 and 2 - Tool
  7. 666 World Divide - Kreator
  8. Psalm 69 - Ministry
  9. Number of the beast - Iron Maiden
  10. I think that's true but does depend on the music. Sometimes that wall of sound is what makes the song sound great.
  11. Have a listen to Motorhead and Dinosaur Jr. Both Lemmy and Lou Barlow were effectively playing rhythm on bass guitars. Maybe it's also worth considering which songs work best for your band and maybe dropping some which don't work.
  12. Pink Cellphone - Deftones
  13. Voodoo Child - Hendrix It's a stinky poo business son.
  14. I think they're the only band whose best album is their greatest hits (except maybe Queen). None of their albums sounds like one piece of work. None of them have a specific sound. If I hear a QOTSA, Tool, Mastadon or Raconteurs song I can instantly tell which album it's from by the overall sound but Foo Fighters albums have no theme or specific sound. They are a great rock band and I have a lot of respect for him.
  15. He's like an older, fatter Jedward.
  16. Jack Black is in that film so I couldn't watch it. I can't stand Jack Black
  17. They have some great tunes but they've never made a great album, they're all at least half filler. I've seen them live a few times and they've got an excellent hour and a half set but unfortunately they drag it out for another hour on top of that. I'm a big fan of everything Dave Grohl has done away from the Foos. Nirvana, QOTSA, Killing Joke, Probot and Them Crooked Vultures were all brilliant.
  18. Get it on- T Rex
  19. Ne touche pas moi - Idles
  20. I raged through the loud teens.
  21. Don't burn the witch - Venom
  22. I was watching Rage Against The Machine at Reading surrounded by a bunch of teenagers who wouldn't shut up and wouldn't give me the space to move and get away from them. In the end I decided if they wouldn't move, I'd just go through them which upset them quite a lot.
  23. Burn the witch - Queens Of The Stone Age
  24. Christmas you say? That'll involve at least a mention of snow and ice. That'll be a job for the crampons
  25. I'm learning Brushed by Quicksand. Nearly there but there's a couple bits I can't quite work out. I'll get there. I think next I'm going dark with some Chelsea Wolfe, possibly Lord of Liars
