  1. Make sure they know you've arrived and you're in charge. Arrive at least an hour late with a bottle of Jack on the go. Spot the smallest member of the band, throw your car keys at him and tell him to fetch your gear. You need to tell them how lucky they are you've shown up, their music sucks and from now on things will be done your way.
  2. I can see those lyrics replacing Shakespeare in the school curriculum.
  3. Guns N Roses came at an odd point in life for me. I was at an where I was still learning what I liked and I liked the loud fast guitars and drums of GNR but hated the vocals but it was enough to push me to search out other heavy rock music and discover Faith No More and Motorhead and Sabbath and other good stuff. Their awful Spaghetti Incident album helped me discover some great punk bands.
  4. That's terrible. Every member of that band (Axle excepted) can and has done much better. I'd rather listen to Nickelback 🤮
  5. Hi. Here's my Ray35. It's been around a bit, previously owned by two other basschat members. It sounds great, feels great to play and looks pretty good as well. The dark colour one is my Subray 5. Also from another basschat member. I've swapped the preamp for a Darkglass Tone Capsule which is a big improvement and will probably put in a Seymour Duncan pickup as well.
  6. I would do terrible things for one of these. An active, long scale would do for me.

    New pedal day

Yes, I tried one and decided I had to plus they're so in demand used there's little to lose.

    New pedal day

Compression can be quite complicated and the Cali76 is a moderately tweakable pedal. It's surprising what it can do to the sound of a bass. A good EQ is definitely next on my shopping list, possibly an MXR 10 band.

    New pedal day

Very nice. Have you tried it yet? My new pedal is a Origin Effects Cali76. It's really very good. I know compressors aren't exciting but the subtle difference this makes to my Stingray is really good.
  10. I have listened to them many, many times and knew Joey was in the band and just assumed he played drums. I was wrong
  11. Very sad. Although I wasn't a big Slipknot fan I always appreciated their music and it was always the drumming that stood out for me. Joey's drumming was always brutally powerful yet incredibly precise and creative. I was a big fan of Joey's other band, Murderdolls. His drumming with the horror punk of Murderdolls was brilliant.
  12. There's a lot of people a thousand years ahead of that trend.
  13. As long as there's a recording in a digital format and digital technology exists then software to play the recording is possible. It's extremely likely though that music will be copied over to new formats as they are created. I'm not sure the resolution of recordings will increase significantly, mainly because the limiting factor will be the brain of the listener. One place resolution will increase is on streaming platforms because they are a bit crap.
  14. With digital recordings being saved of millions of digital devices there's no reason why any artists music shouldn't still be around in a thousand years. Except Nickleback and Coldplay. Their music must be destroyed for the sake of humanity.
  15. Ironically the religion responsible less evil in the world than any major religion is satanism.
  16. If they played music like this in church lots more people would go... ....probably to he'll but still more people in the congregation
  17. Amen brother. I feel the unholy power of Satan. I can't lie. I believe in nothing but Satan has better music than Jesus.
  18. I've looked up Quicksand, a band I used to listen to a lot in my late teens. I forgot how good they were and as a bonus they have a new album which is awesome. I never realised before but their bassist, Sergio Vega replaced Chi Cheng in Deftones after his accident.
  19. I think Ultramega OK is an underrated album. It didn't have any big hits. Its on my regular play list but Superunknown is still my favourite album. Soundgarden had everything, they were all great musicians, they had the great songs and Chris Cornell was one of the greatest ever rock vocalists.
  20. I've got a couple Stingray style basses. I've got a Sterling Ray 35 and a far Eastern Ray5. Both are really nice to play. Both necks are the same width & profile and apart from a slightly nicer finish on the Ray 35 neck they feel exactly the same to play. The SUB is a bit lighter. There is quite q big difference in how they sound, the Ray35 being much more punchy and having more bottom end and a bigger sound, to me it sounds much better. I have put a Darkglass preamp in the SUB which adds a lot of punch and clarity and more midrange, I think it's a big improvement. I will put a Seymour Duncan pickup and I think that'll make it as good as the Ray35 but it'll then have cost the same as well (I bought both used).
  21. Bit of a stinky poo survey. You can't skip the questions you don't have an opinion on. How many people will choose one at random because they're not interested in best jazz fusion player and want to get on to the next question. I just answered Geezer Butler for every category
  22. We're all double jabbed plus we're all anti social which greatly reduces the risk as well. I would be happy to go with whatever needs to be done to make sure everyone in happy that they're safe.
  23. @Doctor J that'll do it! Exactly what I was looking for and there's plenty of tabs online.
