  1. I can listen to bands on Glastonbury pyramid stage from my garden, around 15 miles away. The wind has to be blowing the right way but Motorhead, Foo Fighters and Muse have all been very clear. Fortunately, I couldn't hear Coldplay or Kanye
  2. Sleep in Brixton. Matt Pikes mighty wall of Orange amps definitely isn't just for show. I don't think they needed to put the guitar through the PA.
  3. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Live in Paris They're a band who are far better live than on records. Queens Of The Stone Age - Live in London Actually recorded in Bristol, I know, I was there. It was one of the last club tours they did and they absolutely destroyed it.
  4. Doyle from Misfits said in an interview his signature guitar is shitty. Matt Freeman did have a signature Squire P bass while he played an American P bass with Seymour duncan pickups. The signature bass didn't even look like his.
  5. I have a couple from Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein (Misfits & Doyle) and one from Lars Freidrickson (Old Firm Casuals and Rancid). Fat Mike of NOFX threw one at me right between the eyes, beautiful shot but someone else picked it up. Front row at the Fleece in Bristol virtually guarantees you can pick one up.
  6. That's what's great about music. What's awful to one person is amazing to another. I like that most people dislike my favourite styles of music.
  7. Dude, you can't say that about the band who invented heavy metal and were the gods of doom metal! I know Geezer Butler took pride in people describing them as a horrible racket.
  8. Machine Head in Bristol Academy a couple years ago. They decided that instead of having support bands they would play a three hour set. The first hour and a half were great. After 2 hours it was going on a bit and they were playing second rate filler tracks. I lasted 2 hours 15 minutes, the audience was definitely thinning out by then. Id rather one hour of explosive metal than three hours of filler with the odd killer tune mixed in
  9. Not usually no, super strength weed is their preferred drug.
  10. That is awesome. I don't think he took that seriously. My regular tattooist used to babysit a funeral band for a record label and described them as a dull as f##k bunch of miserable c@@ts who wouldn't even crack a smile when she persuaded them to try ecstasy. Apparently straight edge punks were more fun to be around.
  11. The B1 4 is really impressive, especially for the price. I just checked out some videos and the sound is great. It would be a bit limiting though. It would replace my compressor but then it has to go in front of my fuzz and overdrive pedals which means I won't have the option of EQ after those it could also replace my chorus after the fuzz and keep my compressor separate but removing my chorus doesn't free up much space. Im not sure it would work for me. I know it has fuzz and overdrive effects but I really like the ones I have. I have also found the Joyo R12 EQ has really good reviews. I might give that a try.
  12. That's an interesting suggestion. I haven't got enough space on my pedal board otherwise I would consider it.
  13. I want to get an EQ pedal but want to keep it under £100 new or used. The Boss GEB7 seems to be the most common but I've read that they're quite noisy. Often people complain pedals are noisy because of power supply so is the GEB7 actually noisy? Is there something better I should look for? Do guitar EQs work for bass or are the frequencies wrong?
  14. Where is the normal place for an EQ in an effects chain? Im guessing it would go at the end so it's adjusting the final signal. At the moment I have Compressor > OD > fuzz > fuzz > chorus all on isolated power supplies.
  15. Boss NS-2 noise suppressor. Great condition and working perfectly.
  16. Red Fang may not be quite doom but they're a great band. Their songs are fun to play as well, simple but fun to play loud
  17. This is my 2019 Ibanez SR300EB. Its the weathered black finish. Really nice condition, just a mark on the back from a belt buckle. Just fitted new Roto strings 45-105 roundwound. Plays really nice, lovely narrow neck. Sounds good, everything works as it should. All completely standard. Reasonable offers considered Would also take a swap for a Squier Precision or similar.
  18. Top man. Responded to my wanted post for some Peavey pickups, talked me through a couple options and sold me two sets of pickups for an extremely reasonable price. Cheers
  19. That's what I use with bass. The only downside is I forget to turn it off a lot.
  20. That definitely dooms. I'll look them up for a work soundtrack this afternoon.
  21. Sunn O))) are one of the bands I saw in an old church. It was incredibly atmospheric, the architecture complimented the music really well.
  22. Good tip and a great song. I'll give it a try. I saw their original bassist in 2019 playing with Ministry. Really good bassist and it certainly looked like he was enjoying life with Ministry.
  23. I have tried 46 & 2 but when it gets to the variation of first riff where the drone note moves from the open D to the A#(?) I just can't get my left hand around that.
  24. I know Tool are overrated and their fans are the even worse than jazz fans but I do love a bit of Tool and Id love to play some Tool but every song I try starts nice and easy before becoming impossible for anyone without fourteen 10" long fingers with seven joints in each. Where is a good place to start with Tool? Is there anything which is a bit steadier to play? Should I be trying something from Undertow?
  25. Im not a man of religion so I don't go to church but I have been to some gigs in a converted church. There's something rather atmospheric about crushingly heavy death metal performed in a medieval church. Gothic architecture just works so well with heavy music. It was acoustically very good as well.
