    New pedal day

Very nice. Have you tried it yet? My new pedal is a Origin Effects Cali76. It's really very good. I know compressors aren't exciting but the subtle difference this makes to my Stingray is really good.
  2. I have listened to them many, many times and knew Joey was in the band and just assumed he played drums. I was wrong
  3. Very sad. Although I wasn't a big Slipknot fan I always appreciated their music and it was always the drumming that stood out for me. Joey's drumming was always brutally powerful yet incredibly precise and creative. I was a big fan of Joey's other band, Murderdolls. His drumming with the horror punk of Murderdolls was brilliant.
  4. There's a lot of people a thousand years ahead of that trend.
  5. As long as there's a recording in a digital format and digital technology exists then software to play the recording is possible. It's extremely likely though that music will be copied over to new formats as they are created. I'm not sure the resolution of recordings will increase significantly, mainly because the limiting factor will be the brain of the listener. One place resolution will increase is on streaming platforms because they are a bit crap.
  6. With digital recordings being saved of millions of digital devices there's no reason why any artists music shouldn't still be around in a thousand years. Except Nickleback and Coldplay. Their music must be destroyed for the sake of humanity.
  7. Ironically the religion responsible less evil in the world than any major religion is satanism.
  8. If they played music like this in church lots more people would go... ....probably to he'll but still more people in the congregation
  9. This is the only Christian song for me.
  10. Amen brother. I feel the unholy power of Satan. I can't lie. I believe in nothing but Satan has better music than Jesus.
  11. I've looked up Quicksand, a band I used to listen to a lot in my late teens. I forgot how good they were and as a bonus they have a new album which is awesome. I never realised before but their bassist, Sergio Vega replaced Chi Cheng in Deftones after his accident.
  12. I think Ultramega OK is an underrated album. It didn't have any big hits. Its on my regular play list but Superunknown is still my favourite album. Soundgarden had everything, they were all great musicians, they had the great songs and Chris Cornell was one of the greatest ever rock vocalists.
  13. I've got a couple Stingray style basses. I've got a Sterling Ray 35 and a far Eastern Ray5. Both are really nice to play. Both necks are the same width & profile and apart from a slightly nicer finish on the Ray 35 neck they feel exactly the same to play. The SUB is a bit lighter. There is quite q big difference in how they sound, the Ray35 being much more punchy and having more bottom end and a bigger sound, to me it sounds much better. I have put a Darkglass preamp in the SUB which adds a lot of punch and clarity and more midrange, I think it's a big improvement. I will put a Seymour Duncan pickup and I think that'll make it as good as the Ray35 but it'll then have cost the same as well (I bought both used).
  14. Bit of a stinky poo survey. You can't skip the questions you don't have an opinion on. How many people will choose one at random because they're not interested in best jazz fusion player and want to get on to the next question. I just answered Geezer Butler for every category
  15. We're all double jabbed plus we're all anti social which greatly reduces the risk as well. I would be happy to go with whatever needs to be done to make sure everyone in happy that they're safe.
  16. @Doctor J that'll do it! Exactly what I was looking for and there's plenty of tabs online.
  17. I've promised to find some modern metal music played on a 5 string for my daughter to learn but since most of the modern bands I like are just old blokes ripping off Sabbath or Bad Brains I haven't got a clue. There must be some! She's annoyingly good with a 4 string so looking for some interesting stuff. Kind of goth, emo, maybe a bit progressive.
  18. Warning, contains an angry Canadian and some naughty words
  19. Is that any good? The only review I've seen of Klark Teknik kit ended with a sledge hammer!
  20. Basically I played my Stingray through an 1176 in a studio and it sounded amazing isolated and in a mix. I'd like to get as close to that as possible for under £300. I appreciate I'll never get exactly the same sound because I don't own a vintage Ampeg SVT although I played through the SVT with and without the compressor and it was with the 1167 that it really come alive.
  21. It would be the FET mode that would interest me since that'll be closest to the 1176. I didn't think the 1176 was overly transparent with my Stingray, it had a fair effect on the tone.
  22. @garyt Thanks, I'll take a look at that one.
  23. I want to hear a Christian black metal band. Buddhist grundcore would be interesting as well.
