  1. Disemboweled with a wooden cooking spoon - Pig Rectum A beautiful ballad
  2. I got my ABM 600 IV from @ern500evo last night. Got home and plugged it in. Once I'd realised that the mute button was on and and got some noise out of it, I'm well impressed. It sounds awesome and I've just got the eq set with everything at 12. It's a huge improvement over the Orange Terror I was using, much bigger sound, clearer, nicer valve drive sound. I think I might actually be able to stop using my preamp pedal that I needed to make the Orange sound acceptable. Can't wait to get to band practice now and crank it up loud.
  3. I'd love to see them. Just checked and the nearest show to me is over 100 miles away, in London
  4. I've recently rediscovered some bands I loved in the 90's and somehow forgot about. Irish alternative rockers Therapy? Alternative metal band Helmet Grunge pioneers Tad No idea why I stopped listening to them but they're all awesome. Therapy's cover of Isolation by Joy Division might even be better than the original
  5. I can't believe he came out as racist and was surprised that the punk community immediately disowned him. He accused the people not going out to his gigs any more of oppressing his free speech. He's not too bright
  6. That's a rough one. I love Down, Nola is one of my all time favourite records but I can't enjoy listening to a white supremacist. Same goes for Michael Graves era Misfits
  7. I'm not sure my neighbours will
  8. Sex Pistols and The Who just bore me now. I used to listen to GNR, Kiss and Motley Crue in the 80s but haven't been able to listen to any of them since discovering various types of alt rock & metal in the early 90s
  9. SOLD Orange Terror Bass 500w mk1 In good condition and working exactly as it should. All the power you'll ever want. 500w RMS Class D 8 ohm / 4 ohm switch 2x Speakon cab outputs XLR DI out Effects send & return Active / passive input pad Includes Orange gig bag (no shoulder strap)
  10. Thanks for all the advice everyone. I should have an ABM 600 IV tomorrow which I'm picking up from another member of this forum. Can't wait to get to rehearsal and turn it up loud
  11. That's great. What part of Brizzle are you in? I'm in Frome so not too far from south Bristol
  12. Does everything work as it should? No crackly knobs etc?
  13. Hi. I might be a bit late here but is this still for sale?
  14. Maybe I should spend the extra to get a 600. It's not so much the power that will get me through the mix but the right EQ settings to boost the right frequencies. How does the mk4 sound with the gain wound up? The Orange is horrible so I'm having to get all my drive from pedals but it be nice to get some dirt from the amp and lose a pedal
  15. Is there an EVO 4 500 or is that the 600?
  16. I'm looking for a new amp. I'm currently using an Orange Terror 500 mk1 and not really liking it at all. It does one sound very well but only that one sound and for a high gain amp it doesn't do overdrive sounds at all well. Anyway, Ashdown are looking like a good choice due to price and durability. My main requirements are plenty of power, 8 ohm cab compatibility and a decent EQ. I play in quite a loud metal band so I need to get plenty of volume through my 4x10 Is the ABM 500 EVO 3 any good? I've also seen ABM 900s for similar prices, how do they compare?
  17. I used to have the 1x15 and 4x10. I needed a heavy haulage specialist to transport them. The original TE drivers sound amazing, unfortunately a lot have been swapped out now.
  18. Very nice amp. I wish I still had my Trace Elliot, it sounded great but because I'm a loud hooligan, I kept running 90% volume and blowing it up. Not so nice to carry though!
  19. Just got in from tonight's gig. We had a 30 minute opening set for punk / metal crossover legends Hellbastard. I struggled with nerves a bit tonight, I think the thick smoke didn't help. I couldn't see the audience so didn't know how they were reacting. I had a couple technical issues. I think my compressor died and just gave me a horrible noise. Then I stood on my lead and pulled it out. We survived and had a lot of positive comments. A couple local bands said they'd like to play with us and the promoter wants to book as again so we must have sounded alright. Watching Hellbastard afterwards was just brilliant. They are absolutely relentless, their drummer is an absolute beast. They were heavy, tight and fast and a nice bunch of blokes and they were loud. As a bonus, It was walking distance from home do I could have a few adult beverages.
  20. I think for me the picking style is much less a part of my sound. I play some songs with a pick and some without depending on how I prefer to play, I hit pretty hard with both so attack is pretty much the same.
