I'm also struggling with motivation. I gave up and sold all my gear last year then bought a new bass to start a new band with mates in January. That went nowhere. Since then I've been for auditions which went nowhere (I learned auditions work both ways). Now struggling to get motivated. I occasionally hear a song and think I'd like to play it but never get around to it. Going to see my old band (still good mates) is in one way really good (they're awesome) and depressing (they create a huge noise without bass). Need to find a band.

I just spotted yet another advert for a Metallica tribute looking for a bassist. This one is different, concentrating on Load and later (post good stuff). That's pretty niche (and rubbish)

Do you use the GX100 in to an amp or straight out the DI?

I accidentally added reverb to a heavily overdriven bass track in my DAW. I like the noise it made and thought it could be an interesting effect to add for baas breaks in songs. Has anyone tried this? Does it work well in the real world? Would a cheap Behringer reverb be any good or should I splash out on a fancy one?

Flying Whales - Gojira

Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs at SWX in Bristol last night. Support band, Irked were superb. Loads of punk energy and some almost heavy riffs. Pigs were absolutely brilliant as always with their Sabbath inspired noise. Great performance and as always, the sound in SWX was brilliant. Third time I've seen them and they just keep getting better. The mosh pit was rather lively, I've got a few bruises this morning.

Every cover band does Paranoid (badly) and Iron Man is a bit over played. The Wizard should be in your set as well, I covered it in a band once it's great to play on bass
