  1. Same at Tool gigs. From what I've heard, they can be a bit over enthusiastic in enforcement.
  2. I only go to metal and punk gigs. No one talks because the music is so loud it would be hopeless. At the front, where I like to spend the evening it would be near impossible to hold up your phone to video it as 50 people slam in to you as they mosh. As for fans getting lost in the music, that's up to the band to take us there, grab us by the throat and keep going until the end. The only rules in the pit at metal shows are never intentionally hurt anyone and if someone falls down, pick them up (or if they need help then help them)
  3. Nope. Long scale only. Multi scale is getting more popular for metal and metal musicians will buy anything black so it would make sense.
  4. Mutoid Man at The Exchange in Bristol tonight. Extremely good, excellent performance, tons of energy and they sounded great. Jeff Matz absolutely killed it on bass. Awesome tone through his Jazz bass in to a HiWatt amp and Ampeg 8x10. The man has serious skills.
  5. The Pot - Tool
  6. Ghost Trails - Cult Of Luna Killer tune
  7. Cowboys from hell - Pantera
  8. Our bovine public - The Cribs
  9. New York City Cop - The Strokes I hate myself for even suggesting this one.
  10. Afterlife - Mutoid Man
  11. There's why I said check it. I wasn't 100% sure about it
  12. You might want to look up the consumer rights act but I don't think you have a legal right to a refund. You have a right to a replacement or repair and you can only deal with the business you bought it from, not the manufacturer or importer etc. I went through it all a couple years ago for a useless laptop.
  13. I use my car for work occasionally. It cost me an extra £20 to add business use. Might as well add it at that cost
  14. Nope, new strings. Should I check the fret height above the fretboard?
  15. I've just bought a used Ibanez 5 string which plays lovely apart from the 8th fret on the G string which just gives a farty rattle where I guess it's touching a higher fret. Should it just be a case of raising the saddle?
  16. I'd like the Two Notes Le Bass to have a better method of engaging both channels together than trying to stamp on both switches simultaneously, in the dark, while trying to remember the next riff
  17. DR to make extra long scale bass strings. Multiscale basses are getting more popular in metal and us metal heads like to have everything black so give us some black strings.
  18. I'll take one of these but with a big switch marked "Lemmy" which replicates his sound.
  19. I'd like an industry standard for bass input jack position so either a 90 degree or straight plug suits them all. A 90 degree is best for my p bass but won't go in the recessed angled socket in my Ibanez so it's a pain in the hole changing between basses. Same goes for pedals for neater pedal boards
  20. Mick Mills is really good. I find his bass lines quite tricky, he uses a lot of weird rhythms. REM have a few great songs but an awful lot I find quite dull
  21. I completely agree about BSSM being their last great album. I'm not sure about Flea, he doesn't seem to know how to play to suit the song. He's still playing those funky bass lines over very middle of the road, forgettable, easy listening rock music with the worst lyrics in the history of music and at least 40 mentions of California per song except that one with black bandanas in sweet louisianna, what the hell does that even mean? Is louisianna sweet? Isn't it the butt hole of the US?
  22. I like Robert Trujillo but not Metallica. His talents are completely wasted with that band. I'm also a bit of a Duff fan but can't stand GNR. He played on an Alice In Chains tribute which is when I realised just how good he is. Really like The Cure but can't stand Robert Smith.
  23. Actually I'd go so far as to say their first album was OK. Their second record was just dreadful but made them very rich so they stuck with the format. Wes Borland (guitarist) has proven with his side projects that he can make really quite decent and interesting music.
