  1. Bristol was heroin capital of the UK in the 90's, not the 70's
  2. This discussion has wandered a little off topic
  3. Ryanair and Pick N Mix. Will you also be dining at the prestigious Wetherspoons restaurant? You're really living the billionaire lifestyle.
  4. Sadly you don't get much for a squid
  5. Poundland have pick n mix
  6. Try BHS. The one between Woolworths and Blockbuster video is the best one.
  7. A couple of them had drug problems in the past (before the band). They are now very much against drug use.
  8. They look like what they are. They've not had easy lives, they have had addictions and personal problems. Music was their recovery and it's transformed their lives. They're now living their dream, touring the world, selling out big venues, headlining festivals, selling number 1 records
  9. I would think it's exactly the review Idles want
  10. I just saw an article from GB News about Idles set. They're not fans, who'd have thought it? Absolute fury about the anti monarchy chant (even though GB News hate Charles) and the dinghy and ceasefire displeased them greatly. I get the impression Idles my not be upset about this review. The writer seems to think politics in music is a new phenomenon (it goes back at least 100 years) and exclusively liberals (Ted Nuget, Kid Rock & Jason Aldean are liberals?)
  11. Mannequin Pussy are excellent. A lovely bit of 90's style alt rock with a fair hint of grunge and even the odd bit of New York hardcore
  12. I missed all that! I used to think Dev wasn't much good as a bassist, he never plays anything particularly interesting. With everything else going on, his metronome like timing and simple root notes are exactly what the songs need.
  13. I saw a bit of them. Bland, lifeless and lower and slower than the original versions. I don't think any of them sang on the original recording. The band were doing a decent job.
  14. Wasn't he playing Jazz basses?
  15. Idles headlining the other stage. Beautiful chaos. Absolutely brilliant.
  16. I'm in Frome, Somerset. We get a lot of great bands. We've had Foo Fighters, McCartney, Skindred, The Damned, The Stranglers, Frank Turner and many others. Coldplay are in the venue setting up right now. Tickets are selling at record speed for the train out of town.
  17. I just started looking at those and the Rocker 15 this morning. The Rocker has a bedroom switch which takes it down to 1 watt for high dirt at low volume
  18. The guitarist in my daughters band has a Katana. It's OK but doesn't seem to like pedals. I'd not thought about the volume although I know some can be switched to lower power so you can get all the dirt at a low volume
  19. The youngest offspring has been practicing really hard recently so I thought it's about time for an upgraded guitar amp. I'm thinking a used 1x12 valve amp. What's a good value used buy? Something that works with pedals and has plenty of dirt. She loves punk and metal.
  20. The new Julie Christmas album. Absolutely brilliant. Johannes from Cult of Luna is on guitar and occasional vocals. It really reminds me of the Mainer album
  21. They certainly will. I had to get one after playing a gig through one when my Orange died. These amps sound fantastic and are super reliable. I don't have a bass anymore so have no reason to keep it.
